  • How to get admitted off a college waitlist? Did you open your admissions results and learn that you were wait-listed at one of your top choice colleges? Do you want to know what that means? Would you like to know what you can do to get off the waitlist and into the college? If so, I've got what you need.
Former Columbia University admissions officer Deb Felix explains how colleges create and use waitlists, and provides tips that students can use to succeed in the process.

10:26 1. Do what they ask
    12:20 2. Don't be ridiculous
13:32 3. Reach out to the rep
    14:26 4. Deposit somewhere else
16:21 5. Ask about admission in January or the following September
18:44 6. Play the waiting game well

100% there is income bias there, they will deny it but it’s real.

Hey thanks for the video, one thing I was wondering was if like she said they don't review our letters till may, does it make any sense to send them earlier in march? or should we wait till closer to when they review them. thanks

Hello I have a question, what if we don’t have a representative at our school on the behalf of the school that waitlisted us? Will contacting the admission office be safe?

I feel, as a parent, that it is income based. We applied to a private high school and have been waitlisted. Everything looked good to us, extra curricular activities, essays, letters of recommendation, grades, scores, etc...Do you think we can update the income part of the application and increase monthly payments? Would they see it or is it too late?

it is mentioned that we should ask for admission in January or for the following year if rejected, but when should we do this? after getting rejected from the waitlist or before? please answer.

Since legacies are ig placed on there to get let down lightly, do they still have the same chance as everyone else to get off?

should you email your admissions officer weekly or regularly?

Stanford tells waitlisted applicants “to please refrain” from sending letters and recommendations and to just instead reply to the waitlist offer and send some optional updates. Should I still contact my regional rep or nah

The video makes clear that above all else you should do as the college says. So when someone say refrain ... refrain.
