How to Calculate Mutual Fund SIP Returns?

- All mutual fund returns such as CAGR or XIRR show you the past returns of the mutual fund. CAGR is a representation of the compounded growth of your mutual fund investments. It shows the fund’s average annual growth or decline over a specific time. CAGR doesn’t give you a clear picture of the volatility of the equity mutual fund. CAGR works best on a point-to-point basis such as lump sum investments, but where there are different cash inflows and cash outflows, like in SIPs, CAGR is not the right measure. The concept of Rupee Cost Averaging is one of the biggest benefits of investing in Equity Funds through SIP. XIRR is a method used to calculate returns on investments where there are multiple transactions happening at different times like SIPs. Using the XIRR formula for every SIP installment or liquidation, gives you an understanding of your overall mutual fund investment's current value.

XIRR is the best way to calculate Returns. I do it regularly for both my Mutual Fund and Individual Stock investments.
Good Guidence
Thanks a lot,Ma'am 😊
Clearly expalined
Excellent Video Dear🎉
reality is that no one in this world can calculate MF SIP returns.. all u can do is make an assumption !
No market linked investment can give guaranteed returns.
If anybody wants a definite/guaranteed return, then it will be best for them to invest in bonds, PPF, FDs etc.
But as we know, nothing can beat equity based investment in the long term.
@@amitkumarpraharaj1300 what u are telling is right, but my above comment was in response to title of this video..
@@guneetsandhu2974 that makes sense, the title is little unclear. The title should be about CAGR/XIRR - The Mutual Fund Returns
To bhai wo anumanit average returns hote h, kisi saal Kam to kisi saal thoda jyada return aaega, direct stocks me to 3x,4x tk ka return aa jata h within a year

What are the requirements for sip Mutual Funds
I have one question, doing SIP is better or doing one time investment is better?
DO SIP EVERY MONTH , AND WHEN MARKET GONE DOWN OR CRASH THEN YOU CAN INVEST A LUMSUMP AMOUNT , IT WILL GIVE A EXTRA BETTER RETURNS ON YOUR INVESTMENT
Minimum monthly amount for investing in sip Mutual Fund
Is it nessary to mention the period of sip? I just took sips and making payments continuously without any period mention. What will happen and how the cagr will be calculated as there is no period mentioned.
It's by default 50 years so sit back and relax and keep investing 😂
How would we know the redemption amount for the units invested ? That is the point right ? We want to understand the redemption amount and calculate the XIRR
Hello Shivendra,
XIRR is that single rate of return, which when applied to every installment (and redemptions if any) would give the current value of the total investment. XIRR is your personal rate of return. It is your actual return on investments.

Kya Mutual fund pe Interest jo hota h uske uper interest nhi hota? For example Mera 20,000 Investment hua h jiska 7% Hua abhi December m Total=21,400/- so next jab interest AA Raha hu wo 21,400/- pe nhi a Raha h balki wo 20,000 plus Mera 4,000 Installment=24,000/- pe hi aa raha h...why they are not calculating on the interest of the sip installment?
Why 3 years return is greater than 5 years return in mutul fund ? Please explain.
It's just happening right now because when the lockdown was first introduced back in 2020, markets took a sharp fall, followed by a V-shaped recovery. This means that someone who invested just after the markets fell were able to buy units at a much cheaper rate (just because of the shock value of Covid-19/Lockdown), lower than the fair value of these schemes and the returns of the past three years are inflated. In most schemes, I think the returns over the last 3 years and 5 years are almost identical barring exceptions where as you rightly said 3 year returns are even higher.
But again, this is an extraordinary situation that arose because of Covid and will not happen generally otherwise.
Hope this helps :)
The answer is time duration. Some MFs have 3 yr CAGR of 37%, while the same figure for 5 yrs is an earthly 12-13%. This is because in a short duration, any fund may get lucky enough to raise such high figures, it's actual efficiency is adjudged over a longer period of time ie greater than 5. Yrs
Kya krege calculate krege ... In dino market ki or portfolio ki toh band bji hui h 🥺😔
