Oh Nick I just found this old 'reaction' to Avi Kaplan....this was his battle song. after nearly two years not be able to perform any music from PTX because of legal hassles (even the songs he wrote) he struggled back from depression and wrote this absolute blinder of a battle hymn.
You mentioned the harmonies, Avi did all the vocals including the deep bass notes in the background. Only some percussion, organ and Tamborine was used. All the rest is Avi.
lmao the fact he's doing the bass and humming and pretty much all the noises you hear in the background as well as singing is just so insane to me, those noises sound computer generated are you kidding me 😂😂
This song sounds like it is a cross between a protest march (Yes, I would love to have heard this playing at the recent marches, and I also feel it should be played for the 2020 election (Biden)) This song sweeps you along!!!!

I just had to say the first time I heard this song it felt tribal and raw very similar to old slave songs (I studied slave songs), however I also see as a descendant of the most famous Viking King Ragnar Lodbrok it’s very tribal like a pre war song like the king singing his last words while trying to round up the rest of the Viking warriors to head out to war. What do you think?

Mmmmhmmm, yes. Avi is my boy, too. (Well, him and Mitch.) Matt has a beautiful voice, and I'm glad they picked him as the replacement in PTX, but there's just something about Avi's singing that's hard to put into words, but I'll try... It's just so...full. It envelops you. He has no note that's light. It's all full and weighty. I dunno, LOL. I think the only one I've heard with a voice even close to being like it is David Draiman from Disturbed.
