    I like how you always take everything down to the studs so you know what you're working with, plus you can then update electrical, replumb, etc. You don't skimp on what's important. Bravo.

    • @GageDrums

      @@GageDrums I don't think that was her point. Showing appreciation for his work ethics I believe was her target. Yes we know you don't need to gut to add or remove electrical, however, this is the ethical way to know if there are any illegal hidden boxes, etc. I found one behind my shower wall without a cover, and hanging unsecured. Worth the gut, and re-tile to find.

    • @spacewolfcub
      @spacewolfcub 5 лет назад +5

      Licensing. Wait, no -- research. The first thing to worry about is that City Hall won't come after you (assuming you own the place). Any time you even break a big hole into a wall it could be considered "construction" by City Hall, so first research what kind of home renovation licenses City Hall has and when they kick in. Then research safety in regards to insulation and electrical wiring. Be warned, if breaking off walls and things reveals health hazards like molds, or structural hazards like rotting studs, or fire hazards like crumbling wiring... The price tag could climb sky high (on the plus side, it would be good for your health to know these things).

      Thank you all so much for your replies and time. I'm not american and I don't live in the US, over here the walls are made using bricks and they are rock solid taking down a wall is a much more complex thing as it requires more than removing the nails and attachments and tearing it down. you need real heavy construction and a consultation with an engineer beforehand so the whole house doesn't fall down of your head

    The transformation of the floor was jaw-dropping! I was confused by the baseboard heater, though. He took such care to take the wall out behind it and leave the unit, even when he put new sheetrock behind it. It made me think he was planning on keeping it. But then BAM new baseboard unit. Why not take it out during the demo? They come off the wall with just a couple of screws. I'm glad he got the new ones because they look great.

    We don't build with plaster and wood here, so it's always interesting to see builds that do. You guys did a great job! Good work 😁
