    The plastic cover is a heat requirement . This amplifier has great sound the heos app sounds great although its not featured and as slick as others . It goes really well with Dali speakers and Monitor Audio .
    Thanks for the review . The software has recently been updated and there are no issues . now .

    Im REALLY happy I found this channel. 🥰
    A tip in all friendliness an well meaning.
    All "bookshelfs" will sound noteably better with a sub making the work that no 6,5 incher is able to,
    especially not if they in the same time are going to bloom out fully in the mids. With a sub you will win both tone and 3D, ability.
    Yamaha. NS-SW300 is a SUB that have a adjustable built in low/highpass filter.
    Cheers and thanks for taking us on this journey,, 🍻😎👍‍‍👍‍‍

    Hallo can anyone tell me please.
    I have a question regarding the Marantz pm7000n
    The output of my LG g7 phone via uapp is up to 24bit X 192khz
    I connect my phone to
    the pm7000n via cable because I use Qobuz and that's not in Heos.
    I use an RCA to 3.5mm cable adapter from the headphone jack to connect the RCA (red and white) end to one of the Audio inputs on the back of the PM7000n. That is under AUX settings.
    But I just found out
    from the user manual that
    THE DAC IS ONLY USED WHEN USING THE OPTICAL/ COAXIAL CONNECTIONS AND IT CAN ONLY REACH A MAXIMUM OF 192KHZ 24BITS BUT ONLY IF THE EXTERNAL SOURCE I HAVE CONNECTED INTO THE OPTICAL/ COAXIAL PORT IS CAPABLE OF 192KHZ 24 BIT.
    It doesn't mention phone audio connection
    IAM surprised that It says that
    THE DAC ONLY SWITCHES ON AND IS USED if anOptical/ Coaxial port is used. Otherwise it doesn't.
    I only just bought the amp and this isn't mentioned on any website and wasnt said by any sales person I spoke with. So iam quiet disappointed about this after spending over £600. I made lots of research b4hand and no one told me this, neither is it written anywhere on websites.
    Also NON of the streaming services EXCEPT Amazon, will Output up to 24bit 192khz VIA HEOS.
    QUESTION IF ANYONE KNOWS PLEASE.
    Because of the Dac not being switched on.... is an external cable output of 24bit 192khz into one of the inputs of the Amp a simple passing trough of 24bit 192khz or is it reduced to a lower quality?
    This info is so hidden that I only found out after a week and then talking with a Marantz person asking questions.
    Are all inputs at the back of the Amp configured for 24bit 192khz ?
    Or are they restricted like a normal Android phone?
    Many thanks
    Dev

      @DigitalPhilosophers  9 месяцев назад

      A good external DAC will sound better than the built in one inside the 7000 but I don’t know how good the G7 ones is.

    Are you happy with the Elac's? I own the Carina BS 243.4 and I'm wondering if they fit the pm700n?

    • @DigitalPhilosophers
      @DigitalPhilosophers  8 месяцев назад +1

      I guess they do. The Carina is amazing in my opinion. So is the 7000.
      Edit: I have no doubt the 7000 has enough power to drive the Carina and to make it sound lush and lively with a detailed jet smooth treble

    i cant decide if its worth to get the model 40n. But i feel like they are more or less the same and the newer model is just a waste of money.

    • @DigitalPhilosophers
      @DigitalPhilosophers  Год назад

      If hdmi is important for you it the 40n might be worth it. If I had to decide I would listen to both at home using my speakers cables etc.
      Is there a better way to compare both?

    Do you still have or use the Sugden A21SE? how does this compare?

    • @DigitalPhilosophers
      @DigitalPhilosophers  Год назад +1

      Not any more. The Sugden is a few steps above in terms of tonality and imaging. Especially the tonality is superb. Instruments sound very natural. Vocals sound very natural. And separation between all of the elements on the soundstage is superior too. I wish it had all the streaming and app bells and whistles the PM7000N has.

    How you compare this to Sugden and Rotel and Arcam?
    Kind regards and best wishes

    • @DigitalPhilosophers
      @DigitalPhilosophers  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi, the Sugden is in its own league. Its tonal purity and instrument separation in soundstage width and depth is remarkably better than other amps here. I would pick the PM7000N over the Rotel A14 I had. Both are more neutral than the Arcam Solo Music MKII and the SA20. Out of the last 4 I would pick Arcam only if the speaker needs Arcams lush and warm sound signature. Otherwise I would pick this PM7000N since it does everything right and is the most optically pleasing too. The Sugden needs to be compared to other amps like my current Unico Primo by Unison Research. I will upload a video about that amazing amp soon

    Great vid. Just wanna ask. Do you miss your old Technics sug700?

    • @DigitalPhilosophers
      @DigitalPhilosophers  Год назад +2

      Thank you!
      The only reason I don’t miss the Technics is me listening at low volumes. The Technics comes alive at louder volumes. Then it shines with transparency, neutrality and control. This Marantz and other toroidal transformer amps like the Arcams or Audiolabs I had/have sound much fuller and clearer at low volumes. So if you listen at rather high volumes the Technics sound is remarkable and might be to your liking

    How does this compare to the Arcam Music Solo?

    • @DigitalPhilosophers
      @DigitalPhilosophers  Год назад +2

      The Arcam sounds more lush
      This one is more transparent
      I would pair them with different speakers:
      A thin sounding speaker with an Arcam amp.
      A too dark sounding speaker with the PM7000N

      I haven't heard the PM7000N, but I think it's the PM6007 with the Heos. I had a PM6007 and a PMA-9000HNE which was even worse, although I liked the Heos. They were all bullshit before I got the PM8006. It's the op-amps in the PM8006 and my DAC (class-a op-amps) that produce so much detail and air that you can shovel them into a bucket. I'm not talking about musicality, just detail and air. *PS The PM8006 without its preamp sounds like a simple D-class.

    What do you think of the PM7000N compared to the Arcam SA20?

    • @DigitalPhilosophers
      @DigitalPhilosophers  9 месяцев назад +1

      I can only recall from memory. I have no doubt both amps are for different speakers. The 7000 adds more detail while the Arcam sounds fuller due to its upper bass lower mids presence
