I tend to recommend a similar build as this to people on pcmr subreddit. Usually alternating between the Zalman S2 and Q300L depending on price fluctuation. For the PSU I go with an EVGA 600W Unit. Just was a bit too lazy to find a smaller/cheaper PSU, and usually it goes for around $45.
So many useful tips in here, real world hero. Not the typical video of "watch me as I put together a PC made out of the most expensive components I got free from the manufacturers for the kids to drool over"

A few days ago i upgraded our pc from a 3470 to a 12100 and i can confirm it is a phenomenal processor for those looking for value per cost. For comparison, generating a new world in minecraft used to take around 90 seconds; now it's only about 10 to 15 seconds before you're in the world!

I built this last night. My first build. Used the motherboard, ram, i3-12100f, rtx 6700 xt. Only changes were psu evga 600w and storage was crucial 500gb. Advice for anyone building this becareful with thermal paste on cpu fan (got some on my hand when taking out of box) and make sure you attach the psu 8 pin cpu cord to motherboard before you screw in motherboard. Also watch a video on what to do after the build. Watched plenty of videos on the performance of the i3 12 generation cpu and for the money it's really the best.

It's crazy I bought an used 570 4gb (good model too, Sapphire Nitro+) for 80 over two years ago I think and it still goes for more than that. 2017 card, crazy times.

I actually ready to build my first budget pc with ryzen 5600G series, but turns out I got a secondhand gtx 1050ti for a very good price and considering the i3 12100f. Would that be a good combo? I mostly gonna used it for drawing app like photoshop and blender for 3d, and a little gaming at 1080p if possible. What's your recommendation?
I would actually go for the 5600G with it, it will give you better multi core performance and you can pair it with a cheaper b450 motherboard

Jason, i did this exact build 2 months ago but with an ASrock rx6500xt. I got that card new for 150$ with the mail in rebate. you cannot deny this card is best value for simple gaming and many who build this type of pc are just simple gamers. Not streaming, not video editing, not any heave workload, and playing 1080p. I think you need to look at it more from that perspective than comparing specs and numbers which the typical user cannot see on the screen. 100 fps or 75fps? most people wont notice. Honestly it performs fine and i am happy with build. I feel the biggest performance bump i got in my gaming was the upgrade to the nvme drive!! So bottom line budget gamers if you want to save the max it is still a contender card.
Congrats on the build! I'm glad you are happy with your RX 6500 XT build, and it is viable with this CPU that has PCIE gen 4. However, it is not the best value based on FPS performance. See the best value spreadsheet link in the video description. Right now new the RX 6600 value is unbeatable, with used being a number of GPUs like the RX 570, RX 580, GTX 1060 6GB, GTX 1070, GTX 1660 Super/Ti, GTX 1650 Super, RX 5600 XT. Hope this helps, and again the most important thing is that you are happy with your build!

6750 XT beats the 3060 Ti quite handily if the same price for just gaming. Hope that helps!

Not sure if anyone is interested, but this build (using the same PSU but at 550W due to lack of availability for the 450W) turned out to be $1090.04 AUD (converts to $740 USD or 738€), which is damn good value here. Heck I'm tempted to build it myself, other than it's a downgrade from my current 2500X & RTX 2070S system.

Hi Jason. Man, I love your videos. They are so informative. I am not a computer guy and this is my first pc build, so far. I have the i3 12100F with the Radeon RX 6600 GPU. I am trying to play an old flight simulator (MS Century of Flight 2004) and am running into problems. First of all, I was able to load the game via an external DVD ROM. But now, I can't even run the game! Is it the external drive or what? Do you suggest any particular external dvd drives, or should it matter? Thanks...
I gotta 5800x 3060ti system after selling my first custom build last year and I can run any game, maxed out at 1080p and the only thing limiting my fps is my monitor refresh rate of 165hz.
I'm so happy to have a gaming pc again lol I went a whole year with NO pc until I got a new job recently. was terrible haha.

- Is the TECWARE NEXUS AIR MESH TG ATX GAMING CASE Black a good case with nice airflow for both matx and tax motherboards?
- is the Sapphire pulse rx 6600 perform the same as other rx 6600 since it is an unknown brand for me but is the cheapest 6600 (Philippine prices)?
- I am not sure which SSD to get in case of things I don't know about which one should I get?

If you can answer any of these questions it would help me greatly
That case looks great and comes with 3 fans (not sure if PWM, 3-pin, or molex but for a cheap case who cares?). Crucial P2 will have the most performance of those drives, but for just gaming I doubt you'd ever notice and they are all fine. Sapphire pulse is good, just know that they make a "lite" version with only 2 video outputs instead of 4, so if that matters to you just double check which version you are getting (should be 3 DP, 1 HDMI).

The issue is always the cost of the ITX motherboard. I understand why they are more expensive - smaller market, need to recoup design and licensing costs, etc. - but wish they were cheaper!

With the used GPU market prices tanking, APUs are no longer worth building. When you can buy a used RX 570 for $100 (and dropping fast) and pair it with a cheap CPU like the i3 12100F or even cheaper i3 10100F, why settle for GT 1030 like APU performance?
I mean back then it was for a worse market yet they hold no barring just not a consideration any more plus you gotta pair it with current gen to ensure there is no bottlenecking

I've never actually tried, but pretty sure you can fit standard 120mm fans on top - definitely slim fans. But yes a great budget case!

The price difference between 6700 and 6800 isn't worth the performance increase 6700 much better value
Buy a gtx 1070 ti used on eBay. I got mine for only $160 before shipping and tax
I just built a new computer and almost went pretty much exactly like this build but decided to go no GPU and Ryzen 5600G (was looking at the 5700G but didn’t seem to be that great of a difference in games). My plan is to grab like a 3070 or AMD equivalent in a couple months when 40 series comes out and used cards start selling

5600G built cost like $400 ish in my country, and 12100F with 6600 cost like $660 ish. And if i go with 5600G i could buy AOC 24G2Z 240hz monitor with the same price as the i3... Should i go with 5600G?
@@graze1177 I think in general the 5600G is a better processor but I really don’t know. It’s a beast of a processor but the main reason I got it is because the integrated graphics play all my games at like a minimum of 40-50 fps. Like assassins creed Valhalla at 50 fps on iGPU is insane. I’m personally an AMD fan in general over Intel so I say go 5600g but see if you can’t find a comparison video. And in the US my build was $480

As always another awesome video. In my country the rx 6650 xt is much cheaper than the 6600 xt LOL. Ended up ordering the gigabyte gaming oc 6650 xt. I wonder if a corsair cv450 enough for it? Im only gonna be using the psu for a week or 2 though, cuz I had my seasonic psu RMA'd.

Honestly I would replace it with one of the budget options linked in the description or use the included box cooler instead. Certainly I wouldn't use that with anything else in the future.

Depends on the game of course, if you do want to upgrade you'd be better off going to a better GPU and sticking with this CPU
So I am in the process of doing an i3-12200F build for my best friend's son. My friend asked to try and fix his son's PC. After I opened it up it was well over a decade old (AMD A10-7850K, 16Gb DDR3 of mismatched dimms, R7 270 gpu, 1Tb spinning rust drive) I was like nope I'll build him a new one XD
I had a 2Tb SSD (970 EVO) and 32Gb of DDR5 sitting around so I opted for the ASRock Z690M it was $155 which since I had the RAM already it was the cheaper option then getting new RAM and a DDR4 Board. Personally I would never by a used GPU. I picked up a Arc A750 for the GPU for him, my overall costs were pretty low since I had the RAM and SSD and the PSU siting around. Went with the Antec NX200M case which was surprisingly nice for a cheap case. Added in 3 of the 120mm fans I had around to give it decent airflow.

(need help) Hey I checked out the Ryzen 5 600x build, and from research i found 2 GPU’s, The one stated in the video the 3060 Ti for 519$ currently and a MSI Gaming Geforce RTX 3060 12GB 15 Gbps GDRR6 192 (RTX 3060 Ventus 3X 12G OC) for 450$ Right now, Which one is better for the Ryzen 5600x build?? Im just learning and cant tell which is better😅

Hey king, I have a some questions. I want to build a budget gaming PC. I was wondering if I can pair i5 12400F with H610M-A motherboard? I am on a strict budget so I can either get a good cpu with low end motherboard or I can get a good motherboard with a low end cpu. I am just going to play FPS games. Mostly competitive ones. Thanks
Recently got a pc with this processor and I specifically chose it with budget and upgradability in mind. It will suffice all my gaming needs for now and down the line I can easily upgrade to something like an i7 12700
I also paired it with the rx 6600 and will upgrade to a 3080 further down the line
Is the build good the i3 12100f with the rx 6600?
@@faro9595 unfortunately I'm unable to say if it was good or not as the company I bought it from either made a mistake or a kind gesture and instead of the PC arriving with an i3 12100f it arrived with an i5 12400f.
Such a nice build, still waiting for prices to go down in my country so I can get it for not paying an extra $480 for almost exact specs
Look to the used GPU market, especially when Ethereum merges in 2-3 months!
i was wondering does i3 12100f lag when doing multi tasking? such as playing a game then opening like video or stream on second monitor would that be a problem or can it run it good?

I dont know what motherboard to buy, someone suggested me h610m-D D4 and I wanted Gigabyte B660m ds3h ddr4 for a long time. Here in Serbia, Gigabyte B660m ds3h is 134€ and asus prime h610m-a D4 is 105€. What do u think i should buy? Am I going to be able to upgrade my CPU to 12400f or 13th generation in 5-7 years? Thanksa lot.
For the Thermaltake Versa H18 - i know it only has 1 fan pre-installed - any recommendations for another fan we need to buy in addition / where to put it ?
I did a similar build with the i3 12th gen and the same gigabyte modo but I used the rx 6600, not the xt version (also Asrock btw). I'm not sure if there was a particular reason why je didn't mention the non-xt version. In the UK there is quite a big price difference between the two...

I almoast gave up on PC-s , and gaming ,but bought 3060 last week... it works great with my ryzen 2600 , it has 16X conection so its beter then 6600 and 6600xt for older systems with gen 3 slots. You are my favorite builder channel, becose Ambrosis ofc...

I bought the rx 570 4 GB in June of 2020 for 125 CAD for my son's build. I watched it go for over 300 during the gpu apocalyspe. Now the price is back down to earth. :D

It would be nice if you could do a video a on all the GPUs performance without considering pricing (for neutrality, use all Founders edition cards). This will be beneficial even for someone looking at the video after an year. Since the prices are changing and will go down after 40 series launch.

I have built the same intel platform with the Asus Prime H610M-K D4, 16 gigs if ram (kingston fury 2x8), second hand sapphire RX 590, a 650 watts thermaltake PSU, a Thermalright assassins x120 CPU cooler with RGB. I mounted it in an old thermaltake case I already have with some case fans. It works smooth with every game. The only thing it that the GPU looks like is too old for the new RE 4 remake, can't handle the fog and everything looks darker, aside from that can run every single game.
i have exactly the same H610 motherboard, CPU and a cooler from ID-cooling. Bought it after a mounth this CPU came out

I built an i3 12100f, 16gb of 3200 DDR4, 1tb Crucial P2 and a 3060 Phoenix. Runs really well, quiet and cold.
So I’m trying to make a very similar build it is my first time and I am picking out the parts. Would an ASRock B660M Pro RS work for this build?
Hi Jason ! I have a question : if I do get the B660M DS3H DDR4 motherboard for my i3-12100F build, do I need a WiFI adaptor along with the motherboard ? If so, is there any recommendation ? If possible, under €50. I currently can't use optical fiber.
