Thanks to you guys I’ve bought more baits than I know what to do with, but I’m catching more bass each year. What I really like about this video is your emphasis on exactly how to work the shaky head. I already had a junebug T-Mac ready, but now I’m ready- thanks to my favorite RUclipsrs.
This was a good video. Answered a lot of questions I had about shaky heads. Thanks for going down the rabbit hole on this subject. You guys have the best fishing channel bar none.
Great stuff. I picked up a shaky head for the first time bc of some of your earlier videos on it. Now I'm confident throwing it year round. Lots of choices out there, but don't sleep on the Trick Worm either - super productive.
If you guys haven't been told I wanna be the one to tell you. I don't think in the history of bass fishing no one has been more influential than you guys. You go to tackle warehouse and the best sellers are whatever you guys talk about. I go to Walmart or any place that sells fishing stuff and their inventory changes at least a little towards what you guys talk about. I watched a video about 3 years ago you guys talked about roboworms and I had never seen them or heard of them I go shopping everywhere for baits and never see them. You guys talk about it and boom they're everywhere. Almost every brand is making glide baits after all the years you guys have talked about them. You guys have branched out with different brands to make lures and tweak them. You guys have your own colors with lures. I mean you guys have revolutionized and expanded almost everyone's arsenal including my own. You guys are amazing.
Tim this was a great video! Like how you guys do your individual thing to with different baits.. Two different perspectives in one channel!! Right ON!!
FYI Bitters soft plastics has got a new worm formula going with true floating baits in their most popular baits. Stopped in and loaded up with a bunch if them for a tournament this weekend on the Harris chain. Get em while theyre hot 🔥
This is new to me, I haven't tried Shakey head fishing 🎣 before. After watching this video I will give it a try on lake nockamixon I haven't seen too many people using this concept of fishing so I believe it might produce more hook ups for me I will watch a few more of your videos so I can incorporate your techniques into my fishing style.
Crazy last weekend was my first time fishing with a shakyhead. Caught some pretty nice fish definitely bigger than what I usually catch. This video will really help me for this weekend
The only thing I'd say is the spinning versus baitcaster is a personal preference Tim ! There's a majority of spinning setups used beachcasting, and they're used boat fishing ? You just need the proper power rod and reel ! I come from a spinning background but I also love the baitcaster for Bass fishing. I just wanted to point out there's room to move to a more powerful setup as well !
Idk if the tip about the screw retainer being bent up, but I did it and pulled 2 3+lbs bass out of a city pond that I thought was dead due to over fishing. So, Thank you!!!
Hi Tim not a fan of the screw lock heads. Don't think it gives the worm to flex to set the hook when using light line. Heard Larry Nixon say something similar about the screwlock heads.
Great video, Tim! Your knowledge of finesse fishing is really impressive. I hope to get on you and Matt’s level one day. I noticed when you rigged the T-mac you didn’t poke the hook all the way through. Can you poke through and texpose or is it better to rig it like you did? I just don’t trust that the hook will penetrate the worm and the fish when it’s not texposed but I know it’s a lot more weedless that way. I have a hard time rigging straight shank hooks properly, the angle just seems weird to me. I prefer EWG style hooks but I know that doesn’t exist in a Shaky head.
I don’t know about anyone else but today was some tuff fishing here in WV. I was starting to think I was at the wrong lake.? Got to the water at 6:30 and it was close to 9:30 before I got my first bite. Caught a 4lb on a Spro little John 50 and 4 dinks on a jackhammer with a super fluke. By 1:30 I was burnt plum up and headed to the hacienda. I threw almost everything but dynamite 🧨 shakeyhead just didn’t pan out today either
TVA lakes. When checking dam generating schedules for current. Do I look at the northern dam (discharge) or southern dam (pulling water), or both? Thanks.
You guys are the best!! When the hooking worm on the Shakey head do you go all the way through the worm or keep the hook inside the worm? Thanks for all your info.
Hey guys, I need a recommendation on a good lighter (10-12 pound test) line to use that will take standing timber. I broke a monster off yesterday on Lake Russell. I couldn’t do anything with it!
Hey Tim, I live in South Central Mississippi, about an hour and a half from the Gulf Coast. I live on a man made Lake of about 120 acres with 4 other lakes of equal or greater size. The bottom of all of them is predominantly mud or clay with rip rap on the dams and a lot of docks and wood retaining walls. I have been told that shakey heads don’t do well in weeds, but, I have good results when snapping them free. What are your thoughts about fishing them in weeds of any type?
Man Tim, been asking for years, here in Ohio (Ohio valley) where 9, 10lbs wins a tournament 3-5lber is big bass I'd love for you to do a video on it! Been a member prolly 10 years I'd just love to see a video of it! If I throw on a 9/0 shakyhead with a 15in round worm the fish AND fisherman are gonna laugh at me 😅😂 your videos are great tho bud! I pretty much throw UV speed craw
Tim what you recommend other that the Scots Canterbury head? I have had it bend out on me multiple on bigger bass on 20lb floro. I love how the SC marries with the t-mac 7”. Is there a lil beefier hook available you would recommend. Thank you for ALL the lessons. Fat Fins my friends ✌🏻😎
Nevermind. I asked before I watched video. I seen the worms on the preview and Been wanting to ask. Thats crazy you covered that. Thats why TB’n IS MY FAVORITE YT Fishing Channel. Thank a mill. Fat fins my friends ✌🏻😎
I’d love to get into using shaky heads. Every time i do though I constantly have junk all over them. Weeds grass slime etc etc. and I end up going back to Texas rig worm lol.
Try adding a bobber stop so gunk doesn't build up on the knot and hit the jig head with a fish attractant (FA) or butter flavored cooking spray, hell, even WD40 will make a difference. Old timers use to use 40 as a FA. Try to avoid a gel-based FA; aerosol or liquid.
Why not just use a swing head jig with a Net Bait T-Mac or any other shakey head worm? Is there any advantage to a conventional shakey head jig over a swing head jig? I’d think there’d be more action on the worm with the swing head jig.
The shakey head has an advantage in dropping straight down into our grass beds; vertical targets. The pivot or swing head jig, with its football head, is best as a moving bait that makes horizontal structure contact. Fish that may not want to move VS fish that pursue baits.
I use spinning reels for inshore fishing and with the right equipment they easily handle big redfish and snook. In this context Daiwa and Penn have much more robust drag systems than Shimano, especially the Vanford. There is no bass that can match a big snook for power and speed and the Daiwa Saltist, BG, Ballistic and even the Fuego all have readily beaten ten pound plus reds and snook. I fear bait casters designed for casting light lures would be gutted by ocean fish of this size and presumably big bass as well.
I look at drag strength too because my gear may have to do double duty with inshore salt water fishing. My bait casters are rated 22, 17, and 13 lb drag; the Daiwa being the weakest.
Bruh, I'm super confused. Are you saying i shouldn't use night crawlers and a bobber whilst sitting in a lawn chair throwing Bud light cans on the shore?
No you should definitely keep doin that and stay out of the way and off a boat. And … bud light ? 🤣 you know why democrats don’t own boats ? Because there is no government program giving them away for free.
You suggest a 4/0 3/8 oz for the T Mac, but you did not say if you went up on the weight for the 5/0 DirtY jig finesse.hook. Would you go to a 1/4 oz. - this for fishing in Texas with large fish. Do you change color preference if water is say 5 feet with more light vs 10 feet+. Thanks. Nice recap of SH fishing.

You guys are bass killers. You guys make it look so easy. I love watchn you guys.
Great video, do you have a code for tackle warehouse? That supports you?
Great stuff. I picked up a shaky head for the first time bc of some of your earlier videos on it. Now I'm confident throwing it year round. Lots of choices out there, but don't sleep on the Trick Worm either - super productive.

Always something new to learn with a TB video, amazing as always!!
Great video Tim, I learned a lot and look forward to using what I learned. Good fishing 🎣
Thanks for the video I’ve had great luck in summer here in Texas but really wasn’t sure about dragging or hopping

Best shakey head worm for me has been the Berkley Havoc Bottom Hopper 👌
Tim ,you need to try the twin lakes magnum trick or magnum finesse worms. They float up on a texas rig as good as most shakey heads but more weedless.
Thanks Tim!! Always a wealth of knowledge.

Thank you. These underwater videos have helped me immensely keep them going. Add more underwater. Also, shakey head for smallmouth?
Smallies, large mouth and spotted bass will all eat a shakey head worm
Excellent. Thanks for sharing. Like your wristband.
I feel like an XZone collaboration will be coming in the near future with how many baits of theirs y'all have been talking about so far this year 😅👍
Tried an owner 5/0 ultrashakey head on hartwell last weekend with a slinko on it and it slayed... 😭

I bury my hook tip to keep the weedless presentation and just remind myself to swing for the fences when doing this.

Hey guys what's the worm in the underwater footage at 5:15 it's like a dark worm with blue stripe and it floats well
i was look at buying the GLX 843c MBR but is the conquest 843c better which one should i buy?

Matt/Tim, do you have any sources for large 10-15" worms. Looking for sickle tail, mostly.
Hey guys, I need a recommendation on a good lighter (10-12 pound test) line to use that will take standing timber. I broke a monster off yesterday on Lake Russell. I couldn’t do anything with it!
Do you have any medium price spinning combos like 400 in total for the rod and reel for wacky rigging
Then Nrx 893c is my fav shakyhead rod

I’ve been killing them on the deception worm lately all while evading a heat stroke and the dehydration all by drinking high quality H2O.

The shakey head is my bread and butter. Zoom Magnum shakey head worm in green pumpkin or junebug wears them out
Eurasian Milford has invaded my lakes. Any suggestions on shaky head fishing.

Bending out hooks!?!? Is your drag broken?
I use spinning reels for inshore fishing and with the right equipment they easily handle big redfish and snook. Rumor has it, savage gear is coming out with a 6' baby lochness monster paired with a 25/0 shakey head...big bass better watch out! 👍
B lat SMH worm/head is the only shakey head that ive boated a fish on lol.

I get a ton of bites on the shakey head but they miss the hook most of the time. I feel like I need a trailer hook so there's not 5" of free worm.
