Cats are the pet you need to have to discover your love for them but even then you cant comprehensively explain why you love them and sound sane at the same time to non-cat owners
Watching this witha cat purring in my arms
This is uncanny with how accurate this is
So accurate but that's bc they are actually brainwashing you with toxoplasmosis lmao
You can indoctrinate a best friend into cat lover over ~5 years if they stay over at your house enough.
That’s called toxoplasmosis 😬😬😬
Owning a cat has actually scientifically been proven to give you the same level of emotional fulfillment as a romantic relationship. Take that cat haters.
Does that speak to the valuation of the cat relationship, or the devaluation of the person relationship? 😂
@@ElizaJ42 Definitely valuation 😂
That's depressing.
Well as someone who is struggling to find a human relationship, my cat helps keep me grounded instead of feeling perpetually lonely and depressed.
I'd rather have a romantic relationship any day. Plus I'm not allergic to other people.
Cats don’t have to love you, and yet they do. They choose to love you. That makes them special.
Literally any other animal also doesn't need to
That’s not unique to cats though, if a dog barks or growls at you, it’s because you’re a stranger and they don’t like you, until they get familiar with you
I feel like a relationship ship with a cat is more like you need them more than they need you but they chose to stay with you despite that and yer my cat was super clingy to me but know one els in the family

My cat saved my life. I was suicidal because I had convinced myself I was worthless, hurt people, and made the world a worse place. Then, he came up and headbutt me and laid on my chest and I thought "well, he'd be sad if I was gone, and if everything goes to shit, I can still make a positive impact by opening a cat shelter"
My cats have always given me love even when I thought I was unlovable. I’m happy you’re still here and I’m sure your cat is too.
Cool story bro 🎉
Even if you can't open a cat shelter, there's this community service called TNR you can look into to help feral cat populations. Usually it's completely free, minus the time investment.
Your cat is planning your demise. pass

I saved my cat from an abandoned litter. He was 2 days old, didn't even have his eyes open yet, and the rest of the litter was dead. My bond with him is on another level. I'm pretty sure he thinks I'm his actual dad
That is absolutely adorable. The safety he must feel with you is so special and sweet. 💕
My cat hates my guts and will hiss at anyone that comes near it. I’ve always wanted to get rid of it, but that just feels like asshole thing to do
Cute and awesome! But you wouldn't want him/her to think if you as their actual dad. Because then they'd forget about you and leave.
Better to be super cool loving owner. They remember that.
@@Crimzon-There are a multitude of reasons your cat is being a jerk to you. Do some research. Put in some work.

If you would have gotten a dog it would have had the same effect but you'd also have a reason to go outside and touch grass which has been proven to help with depression
There was a similar thing in the tv show After Life where the main character was very depressed, but his dog kept him alive for the same reason.
@@alchemist0019touch grass is this year's 'optics' or 'gaslighting'... Some dumb thing 1 goofball said once and somehow, the masses glommed onto it.
I too never liked cats until I met one drunk in a Circle K parking lot one night. He had been abandoned. It's only been 2 years and now I have an entire channel dedicated to cats and helping cats. It's insane.
That’s really cool.
A few tips on anyone thinking of getting a cat: First off, consider getting two [kittens]. I know it seems like more of an investment, but trust me, if they have a playmate, they'll be attacking you far less. Also, never let them play with your hand or anything else you don't see as a cat toy. That is basically teaching them to be regular biters and engage in more destructive behaviors. Be sure to buy some cat furniture, especially a cat tree. Don't get them cheap, big name food if you want them to live long and healthy. Also consider a natural alternative to clay litter. For me, I use oat grain litter. It's far less toxic than clay or crystal litters. And most importantly, do NOT let your cat outside! I know lot's of people have outdoor kitties or barn cats, but they will live much longer if they are indoor kitties. You will also worry less about toxoplasmosis since they are far less likely to catch and eat critters indoors.
Hope that helped. One last thing to give them to help them live longer, happier lives is lots and lots of love ❤
I own a cat with my wife and she loves me so much more than her. Once when my wife was holding her, she reached out for me, and then crawled out of her arms and into mine. It was the cutest and meanest thing I've ever witnessed, which really is the essence of owning a cat.
They don’t shy away from picking favorites.
Cats have a strong preference for men, because men are real and appreciate cats for what they are and are honest. Women use cats as a baby substitute and it's a pathetic sight to see; women who dote on cats that hate them. Not that no woman has ever had a strong bond with a cat, but the vast majority do not and cats by and large prefer men unless a man abused them.
Who hurt you?
@@j.r.mocksly5996google is free :) cats tend to prefer female owners due to the amount of attention they get, actually! But it all depends on how you treat your cat, and how your cat behaves, and your gender doesn’t actually matter too much.

The best thing about the reason why cats bring you mice, is that they care about you enough that they’ll hunt for you too. And I think that’s really sweet
That made my heart expand. Holy shit I love my cat.
Ah…my indoor cat just leaves dismembered insects strewn at my bedside. Took me forever to figure out that that was her equivalent.
Free rat nuggets
It's funny, I think they look at humans and think 'aww, poor thing can't even catch it's own toys, better take pity and give them one of mine'
YEAH BUT THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOU ENOUGH TO ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR FUCKING EXISTENCE HOLY SHIT
7:05 is SO true. I was a total cat hater before but then my college roommate had a cat for an ESA and my eyes were OPENED. I had no idea how cool, loving, goofy, and wonderful cats were until I interacted with that cat. Ever since then, I’ve wanted to get a cat and have to struggling to convince my dog loving parents to let me get a cat (they would totally love the cat, they just don’t know it yet). But the point is, you really truly don’t understand why cats are so incredible unless you’ve actually, genuinely interacted with them.
As an adoptive parent of both dogs and cats, I think that both species have fantastic qualities and make my life immeasurably better.
Our cat once got run over by a car, and by some miracle, survived it. While probably looking like a pancake, he crawled back home in to the basement, where we found him. We rushed to the vet and he made it out alive. I'm incredibly proud of him for not being dead.

Being “chosen” by a cat is one of the greatest things you can experience. When I was at the shelter where I got my cat she let me put her on my lap and INSTANTLY started purring. It was amazing.
Something about having a small fluffy creature who lays on you and purrs does make you feel better about the world.
It's the healing frequency their purr runs on, healing you.
It also helps that it's a ferocious, evolutionarily unparalleled killing machine that wants nothing more than to love you and cuddle and make you feel better when you're sad.

I agree with everything you said. Except “buy a cat” you can definitely get them for free. My kitten literally walked into my house when kids were trick or treating last Halloween. The trick was on me. Her name is Trix. She’s just got her claws stuck in my leg. I guess I should feed her.
My parents' 2 cats currently were found. 1 wandered into our yard, 1 was found in the gutter while my dad was on patrol. 1 of my 2 cats was found in a wall of an apartment during construction. So yes I agree, doesn't always have to cost money. In fact the other of my 2 cats is defective as hell and if I didn't lose the dang receipt Id want my money back 🙄
I found one of mine crawling across a road starved and w a raging infected wound on her neck weighing less than an lb.

Literally how it happened with me. My roommate and I were just chilling outside one morning, smoking a joint and then out of nowhere this Tabi Kitten just comes up to us and starts yeowling like we can speak his language. It was decided then and there that it was meant to be, and we still have over 10 years later and in entirely different state now!
For famous cats, there was a cat named "Unsinkable Sam" during WW2 where he started out in a famous German warship named Bismark. No one know who brought him but his name was actually Oscar but it changed later on. When Bismark sank almost everyone on board died, Sam survived. And was found on a plank in the water by the UK. So Sam went on another warship but this time for the UK. After a while that UK warship also sank, this time half on board died, Sam survived. He was again found on a plank in the water. So the UK decided to send Sam on ANOTHER warship and named him "Unsinkable Sam". And guess what, again the warship also sanked. This time not that many people died, Sam survived. And can you guess where they found him? That's right on a plank in the water. But this time Sam was quoted "Very unpleased when found". So this cat survived 3 warships sinking and was moved to the UK government office where he lived his days in peace. Away from war, and away from water.
Well it does take a couple of hours to completely dry a cat's coat. Also, that is very cool.
"very unpleased when found" after being stuck onto 3 doomed ships one after the other i would be too! lol

i think one of the best parts about having a cat is when they walk up to you snd you make the little noises or say their name in a certain way and they start walking towards you faster or when you’re doing something and they stand next to you and you look at them and they look at you and you can like just feel the love for this little creature in your heart i mean cats are so awesome

More reasons to get a cat, by naming things my cat - Zara - does:
1. When she enters a room I am in, she waits until I say "Hi, baby./Hi, Zara." to fully enter the room. honestly, her doing that has made me more aware of my surroundings, somewhat.
2. Zara follows me EVERYWHERE. The kitchen, the livingroom, the BATHROOM. I haven't been lonely in 4 years.
3. She watches TV with me and responds to my side commentary.
4. She's warm and lays on my legs or chest. It warms me up during the winter.
5. Petting a cat is instant serotonin and Zara loooooves head scratches and shoulder scratches.
6. Every time I'm sad, even when she isn't in the room, she appears a few minutes later and will just stare at me. I am no longer sad in that moment.
7. I need to buy her tick and flea + deworming meds every couple months so every couple months I get to go toa pet store. This cat indirectly allows me to see more bunnies, lizards, snakes, and hamsters. A big plus.
8. I am scared of moths and Zara eats them. Why? I have no idea. They cannot be that delicious, but I will not question her on it.
9. Thanks to Zara, I know where my hairties are: under my bed. She hides them there, but, hey, I know where they are.
10. I can tell how good of a person is by whether or not Zara would come near them. My ex? Zara did NOT like him. Ex friends? She avoided them like the plague. She can sense the vibes.
get a cat. it's the best decision ever.
"vibe sensing" is a myth, please
Yes. And "Vibe sensing" is probably true, most cats hate me and I hate me so... that checks out.
idk about ‘vibes’ as spiritual phonies think of it, but i side with the comment. they definitely can sense a vibe- and that is to say that they’re really mature and smart at picking up on nonverbal cues of people. if they’re chill, respectful, imposing or entitled, greedy or kind, all of that. cats are scrutinising and they are objective with it. if a cat approves of you- good job you win
My arctic stoat cat used to hide my bras up inside of her secret hideout in the couch 😄
@@HavingCrumpetsIf you think of it like being psychic, yeah. However cats are very good at reading nonverbal cues and body language, so there's a very real possibility they're picking up on something that we either can't, or are overlooking for one reason or another.
Fun fact: the reason why cats sit on your chest and scream to wake you up is because since they see you as another cat and cats typically are very light sleepers, it disturbs them seeing you asleep for so long, so they wake you up to make sure you’re okay and not dead
They can sense any change too so if you were awake but trying to sleep back again, they would notice
For one of my cats she's more concerned about being fed.
One of the things I love about cats is that you don’t even need to look hard to find them. Just find one on the street or around your house and suddenly you have a new baby to love and care for (checking for microchips of course). They just choose to love you and I think that is just so beautiful
I was always a dog person growing up. However, I took the leap of faith and got a 3-month-old cat I've named Chester (named him after the late Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington)
Fast forward 4 years, and I've never been happier having a furbaby. I can honestly say that I don't think I would still be here if it wasn't for my awesome Chester cat. He gives me a sense of purpose, and he always puts a smile on my face whenever I see his cute little face. So many of my RUclips videos are of my cat.
My cat saved my life and continues to do so. Love him as much as I would a son, cause he is my son. I dread the day I have to say goodbye to him.

12 good things about cats in no particular order:
1. Really soft
2. Their weirdness is unbelievably hilarious, they sleep weirdly in weird places, bolt from the room for no reason, look dumb when they're playing, etc
3. Purring - such a warm comforting sound, also apparently good for bones
4. Light and easy to pick up
5. 100% authentically themselves, don't fawn/people please - just who they are all the time
6. Groom themselves (unless bred to need grooming) & so their fur tends not to smell even when wet
7. So many cute/funny noises
8. Dont seriously hurt people. Even if it's not their fault, dogs do kill people every year.
9. Rubbing against you/lying on your lap feels so nice
10. They blink at you slowly to show they love you
11. Just crazy impressive sometimes - run so fast, jump so high, do crazy yoga stretches
12. There are trends to cat behaviour but every cat you meet will be an exception to the rules in multiple ways e.g. instead of dead mice, my friend's cat brings home scratch cards (scratch off cards)
My drama teacher had a cat named “fathead”. He took him to the vet once, and they called for a “mr head” - implying that they thought this cat’s name was straight up just “fat” and they were totally chill with it.

He was a rescue, he walked right in front of my car and just sat there and wouldn’t move. This was out in the country where someone had obviously abandoned him-and they probably dropped off a whole litter of kittens that didn’t survive. People are the absolute worst.
So I brought him home with the intention of finding him a person after I got him shots and he was treated for fleas/ticks. He was a scrawny little orange tabby my son called “Carlos,” and it stuck. He was enamored with this spirited lil’ fuzzy guy, because who wouldn’t be?!
My husband (his father) doesn’t like cats, to answer that question. He actually tricked me when we were dating or I never would have considered a future together. He let me keep Carlos though, because aside from our son’s immediate attachment it just seemed like serendipity.
After Carlos disappeared three years later, he knew I was devastated and told me to get another cat. I’ve thought about finding one but it’s such a bummer knowing he really doesn’t want me to:-/
It's worth to get a cat because there are some cats that are so nice and don't get into places (yes there are cats like that and its crazy) and they always come up to you and it always stays with you.
About 11 years ago me and my sister found a stray kitten on her porch, we fed him and he kept going around my legs. And even though I’m allergic I couldn’t help but pet him. 11 years later he’s my little fur ball that I love dearly and loves me back very much so. Anytime he’s spooked or whatever he runs to me and goes between my legs and he’ll also decide to sleep with me when he wants to be comforted. Also because of my exposure to him for so long my allergies has mellowed out extremely and now it seems that it only really starts up if I have a lot of cat hair in my eyes.
I once had a cat that accidently got transported over 60 miles away when we sold our boat while she was sleeping inside of it. One month she showed up at our door a little thinner and acting like she never left. The happiest day of childhood was waking up to my sister telling me my childhood pet came home after a month of accepting that she was either dead or never coming back. There wasn't a day that went by that I regretted with that cat in my life, not one.
hol up, she just
*walked back home?*
@@ArgenteonYT It's gotta be the boat buyers brought the cat back to them. There's no way a cat would recognize 60 miles of locations they've never been in before, nor know the way back through it.
Not even with heightened smell.
@@RNG-999 I mean, that would be a weird thing to do a month later? Also we contacted the buyers later to ask if they noticed the cat or saw her at any point and they didn't find any sign of her in the area besides some cat fur in the bottom of the boat. It was because of the fur they found that we assumed she was napping inside of it when it was sold. But yeah, theres a chance she might have hopped out sooner than at their house 60 miles away if they ever slowed at an intersection long enough for her to leave. Regardless though, I think it was safe to say she wasn't being taken care of by anyone because despite being alive she was still noticeably thinner than when she left. At the end of the day no matter how far she went I was just happy she cared enough to make it back~
@@ArgenteonYT I can only assume, there wasn't really much else she could have done and my parents had no reason to lie to us about that as we had lost pets that got found later by strangers or at shelters many times before. Hers was a first though
@@halliebairey9678 bro that's awesome, glad you got your cat back!
Best part of cats is you don’t need to go and adopt one. They just show up and pick you.
All three of cats showed up to my parents house at some point and I love them all.
I’ve grown up with 20+ cats. All were strays that chose us or were born in our garage.
Fr though
My first cat just came up to me outside as a kitten, mewing, purring and rubbing against my leg and instantly I was like "if anything ever happens to her, I'll kill everyone in this room and then myself."
I've had her for 7 years now 🥰
I found a cat on my mammies porch and he’s still with me and I also found two grey kittens somewhere and they just were like “oh cool I guess we live here now”
Dame, all my cudly bbs just show'd up in my house a year ago, and i haven't been happier 🥰
We had an orange and white cat appear in our yard one day when I was a kid and we adopted him. Loved that cat so much
Stumbled upon your channel and your content is fantastic - like all of my intrusive thoughts, but hilarious. Thank you for all that you do! And please give your cat some headpats!
I have 2 cat's and a Jack Russell mix dog. I least trained my tiger tabby Zazzles, I started when he was 6 months old.
I love them all so much, they're each so different and amazing.
It’s probably the uniqueness and independence of their personalities that makes taking care of a cat fulfilling, and being chosen by a cat so much more of a privilege.
A fun little story about my oldest cat:
I got him in 2016 when he was just a kitten. He was so small and so fluffy. It was storming out, and he was scared, but I held him the whole way home. He’s been by my side for 7 years now, and I cannot express my love for him. I used to get horrible migraines, and when I ended up puking, he’d always curl up next to me and lick my face. He cuddles with me every night. He’s a little sweetheart and he absolutely loves yogurt. He has horrible anxiety, but always knows he’s safe around me. He absolutely adores my other cats. Constantly playing with them and licking their fur. He lets my maine coon use him as a pillow. He’s a domestic long hair and he’s completely blonde. He’s genuinely the best little creature to have ever come into my life. He is so unbelievably gentle. I’ve never heard him hiss or growl, and he doesn’t bite and never purposely scratches you. He has a high pitched meow and it’s the cutest thing you’ll ever hear.
Apologies for writing a whole essay about my cat- make sure to give your pets so much love, and cherish them while they’re still here. They love you just as much as you love them🫶
Cows milk and dairy products is actually not good for cats, so pls make sure the yogurt is made with safe ingredients for them! /nm
Your cat sounds like such a sweetheart /gen
Honestly this made me tear up
I read it all because I have felt the same things with many of my cats over the years of my life.
They really are a joy. Like a blessing or a Godsend.
I've rescued, raised, and rehomed over 50 feral kittens since 2010.
My one and only cat is 14 years old and on the last legs of her life just because she is a purebred Ragdoll which means she is already completely deaf, she's pretty dumb, but now old age is hitting her like a truck and she has COPD and feline asthma making breathin difficult.
I just have to give her her inhaler 6-8 times a day now, but she is able to live relaxed and without stress still. So long as she is not suffering and I can keep her at ease, I'll cherish every moment I have left with her by my side like she has been for the past 14 years.
That's so sweet. My cat bit my face when I was crying. I thought he was coming to comfort me but no. He just sat on me, purred a little bit, and then bit my face. I love him tho.
@@hesterwright3674 You're not giving him what he wants or he has a hard past. Cats operate like men with no boundaries or rules, so they are a good test for women of how well they know men. Also a good test for men of how well they know themselves. Women tend to terribly misunderstand cats, though a minority of women are good with cats. Same as men really.
I have a 24 year old cat that still looks and, sometimes, plays as she did as an 8 month old. She is my four legged child who will never abandon me! ❤️😻
a cats purr can literally heal you and when im sad my cat lays on my chest and purrs and im like awwww shes healing my heart
I’ve always been a dog person but I got adopted by a ginger cat about two months ago. He followed me home and just decided that I was taking care of him now. He’s funny in his own way and very chill.
They are so friendly.
That's such a ginger cat thing to do, too lol
A dog is like forever toddler who knows some gimmicks- a cat is like a kinda cool roommate
My cat does nothing but sleep, eat food and beat up the neighbourhood cat and child population so that tracks.
A bird is like a forever toddler, a dog is like a cool roommate thats kinda dumb
A kinda cool roommate who alternates between being a stoner and a tweaker depending on the time of day.
My dog is a rescue. She's a ~120 lb livestock guardian breed, which means I have the safest home on my street. My neighbors have all been visited by bears, bobcats, and other dogs that have gotten loose (the perks of rural life), meanwhile none of those things ever comes anywhere near my property. She's so vicious sounding (incredibly deep, loud bark) that I don't even get solicitors or Mormons showing up. She's worth it just for that alone.

cats truly are the best. that moment when you have an antisocial cat who doesn’t like affection that much, come up to you and cuddle you- you just cant explain that. it’s so special. millie hasnt wanted to cuddle for months, but I still love her.
I remember once, having an argument with my mother and I was having a panic attack/mental breakdown. I was screaming and crying, hitting myself.
then I saw my boy ginger try running under the dresser bc I was scaring him.
almost instantly I forced myself to calm down, grabbed him, and just held him crying for a good half hour.
and the imprinting being an ego boost is so true. my boy suki doesn’t like most people. him and ginger were with my mum for some time while I’m with my dad now, and they were recently brought here.
suki was *terrified* of my dad at first, still doesn’t like him but won’t run off.
the other day, dad came in my room and tried to pet suki cuz he was on the bed, and he jumped back. I then reached out and called him and he came up to rub on me right away 😂
and when he’s outside, he’ll see me and start meowing and begging for attention. sometimes he meows randomly around the house- like he’s calling for me- and I’ll respond to him, and he has that softer “mrr?” sound as a response, you know the one, and comes to me for cuddles. it’s so cute
one thing I regret, is leaving him with my mum for just under a year when he was young. as a kitten he was so much more cuddlier- would sit around my shoulders like a scarf, enjoyed being held for a long time, I would lean in to give him a head kiss or boop our noses and he’d lean towards it. I remember once going “boop me if you love me” and tapping my nose, and he came up and did it. that was the best moment of my life 10/10
but after coming back to him, he was less cuddly. it took him a bit to remember me. he no longer likes to sit on my shoulders, and backs away from head/nose kisses. he was reluctant to be picked up the same.
slowly he’s gotten more comfortable with being picked up, and reluctantly lets me give him head kisses, but it still makes me sad.
I love him tho, love all my cats ❤
ginger is laying near me snoring like an old man rn 😂
As a cat dad I see this as an absolute win
To add to the cat history bit, I remember learning in class one day about one of the oldes known named cats in history. In the 9th century, an Irish monk wrote this cute little poem about his cat Pangur Bán (meaning something like 'pure white' if I remember correctly) in which he compared his hunt for mice with his own "hunt" for wisdom to write in the manuscripts. It was such a cute and intimate view into this random monk's bond with his cat and I never forgot it.
One of the first cats we know of, was, obviously, in Egypt.
I forget what the name actually was, but it means 'sweety' in Egyptian
It was Idjem
I think its a song mentioned in the movie Secret of Celts
I also was an avid dog lover who acquired a cat somewhat against my will. My dog passed away and a cat showed up and started sleeping in my doorstep. I took her to the vet and she was basically just mine after that. And now I love her and do everything I can to be a good first time cat owner ❤️
That's basically how cats became house cats. They just showed up one day and suddenly they live there. History likes to repeat itself
I have two little cats and holy shit they are just so damn adorable. I mean, what's more adorable and funny than a little fluff ball that just walks around doing stuff in your home, cats are amazing and I love them and no one can change my mind, thank you for the video it was good :D
In my junior year of college my three roommates/previous friends decided to no longer associate with me. One of them had a cat, and even though he got his claws in my lace clothes and knocked over my plants, he was the only roommate that comforted me when i cried from lonliness, and the only one who didn't give me anaphylaxis.
As a cat owner to another, I can agree that the joy of owning a cat is unexplainable
I know you're killing it on the shorts, but your full-length videos are seriously underrated and deserve way more views!
I had a cat named Shadow, but he was my grandma's, and whenever i started having panic attacks more often, he would come into my room, lay next to or on me and just put his paw on my chest and i swear.. he helped more than anyone else possibly could at that time.
this sounds like a middle school presentation lol, this is hilarious
A famous cat you might not know about is Nitama, former stationmaster of the Wakayama station in Japan. While she has since passed on, she has two living successors (one of whom who manages a different station) AND her local shrine has promoted Nitama to patron god of the Wakayama train station. (Look it up, you won’t be disappointed)
You’re thinking of Tama! Nitama is her successor. There are a grand total of 4 cat stationmasters (past and present), with Sun-tama-tama and Yontama being the other two! :3

i think cats are a really good pick for people like myself that have autism/sensory issues. having a dog is very loud and in your face and personally can get very overstimulating very quickly. cats on the other hand just have a very calming feeling. i personally find the sound of their purring very calming and i usually end up meowing as a vocal stim anyways so it just feels like me and my cat are having a conversation whenever she meows.
YESSS! Loud barking hurts my brain! I love my dogs so much, but they’re so loud, and smelly, and greasy. It’s too much for me to handle sometimes
I personally am 100% convinced that if you would make any cat into a human they would all be autistic so that is probably part of the reason why they're so chill for you
Most of them share our preferences for physical contact too lol
"Yeah you can touch m-
Nevermind that's uncomfy. Stop now or die"
exhibit B:
"I *am* being social! See, I'm even in the same room as you! Why can't you just ignore me?"
Or the classic
"AH! STRANGER!" *disappears*
I consider myself appreciative of both cats and dogs, my mom is allergic to cats so we can’t have one and we have dogs instead
My one dog is super calm and well mannered and well trained and she just wants to nap and get belly rubs, she’s great when I’m sad because I can bring her to my room and snuggle her until I feel better and she’s a dog so she doesn’t mind getting affection, yes she barks at the door but she has been trained & when you tell her to stop she will stop 😊
My other dog is a hyper ass puppy who has a need for speed which keeps me active which is really good 😊 and he has absolutely not a single thought behind those eyes!
When I get to see my girlfriend’s cat or other family members cats they’re super friendly and I like how they headbutt for attention, and we have an outdoor cat in our neighborhood that handled the rat problem way better than the rat traps that got installed a few years ago (and we’re not talking cute pet rats these are nasty wild rats that look like they have been eating cocaine). Also that outdoor cat goes “mow” at you until you pet him which is just fantastic 😂
My AuDHD take on enjoying the best of both worlds
@@ravyntaylor6982 same, or at least rather similar. My own AuDHD take is that I'll take any animal interaction because I just feel closer to them than to people. I like all of the animals, dog, cat, bird, reptile, fish, insect, amphibian, whatever
The only exception is insects that indicate a biohazard (i.e. cockroaches in my living space, poop flies, etc.) - all others are chill
Bro having a cat give you more funny moments
That last part took a weird turn lmao... i laughed too hard at that
my cats knew how to play fetch right out of the box, and one of them is far cuddlier than any of the dogs I’ve had. Bonus point for the cats being small/light enough that when they walk on you it doesn’t hurt, it’s just kind of endearing.
Also being small light and agile enough that if they claw you and you throw them across the room… it’s not really abuse.
@@jackryan444 Hahaha yeah if they don’t want to be picked up, they’ll throw themselves across the room in the most dramatic way possible
No hate but when my dumb fat cat decides that he is a little kitten when his not, such a fat cat, it hurts I can’t breathhhhhhhe
@@jellybear4343 what’s he weigh? 😂
My cat knew how to play fetch too and then she forgot.
my cat died april this year, she was only 4 years old, but when we first got her from the shelter, it was my tenth birthday. i picked maybe three cats i liked but she was the only one that purred and she let my 3 year old brother pick her up and played with him. she was my best friend and genuinely saved my life at one point. she was my baby and it was horrible to see her go so young, i loved her and always will.
You'll always have her in your heart. Some creatures do us an honor and allow us to shepherd them through their lives. You were lucky, and so was she.
The same thing happened with my cat he just turned 5 when we put him down because of kidney failure the day before mothersday. He meowed alot like he was talking to you, followed me everywhere and always had to have his fish toy right beside him 24/7. He is my best friend and I miss him sooo much.
Breaking my ❤😢
one less. Congratz.
You filled her whole life with love and care, she loved you deeply. You did good by her and she'll always be part of your memories. I'm sorry for your loss
You can’t train cats to stop doing things, but you can train cats to do some epic things. One of my cats knows to hit piano keys when she’s hungry (I regret this) and the other comes to the sound of an ocarina
The best thing is that cats are loyal to YOU, dogs are loyal to anyone, but cats will live with you and like you more than anyone
As long as you regularly clean & replace the litter box, you won't have an issue with offensive odors lingering. I mean If they pinch off a real grumpy you'll know at the time, but humans also have that problem. Mixing in baking soda also helps to deodorize boxes, so that's a nifty little hack.
yes, and use pine pellets with a sifting tray. seriously the only way to go, doesn't smell at all. i will never use anything else now. occasionally also clean actaul tray with vinegar and there is zero smell.
The whole cat name thing is very correct. For ages I had 3 cats.
1. Mitzi (My native language's equivalent of that pss pss pss sound people make in america)
2. Kelly. Just a normal human name.
3. Two. She was the third one.
I used to know a guy with cats named Jenny and Not-Jenny.
My favourite names for cats I've had include: Shiloh, Mr. Gibbs, Malfoy, Sinbad and Junebug. Currently my 2 kitties are Junebug and Max. My bf named Max and apparently thought that was pretty unique for a cat till we took him to get neutered. They get alot of Max's lol.
I have four cats.
1. Kalervo = just a normal name (people always say how cute the name is)
2. Raketti = literally means rocket
3. Lumikki = Snow White
4. Kleopatra
I kinda wanna name my next cat Huora = whore
There was a cat in ww2 and they were part of the navy. They got a card that had a paw print so they could be identified. if you wanted to know, their name was herman too.
My local shelter has a cat named Circle.
I was lucky enough to meet Stubbs the Cat on a trip to Alaska! Walked into the general store to get a soda, and there was this big tan cat chilling on a pallet full of cans. Naturally I went up to it for pets and scritches, and when I asked the cashier what the store’s cat’s name was she said “oh that’s Stubbs, he’s also the Mayor!” They had souvenir tshirts with Stubb’s face on them and everything.
RIP Stubbs.
Have two and couldn't be happier. They don't hiss, growl, scratch, or bite. They don't mind being held, they love kisses and cuddles, and they are cute as buttons. They are friendly with strangers too!
Imagine being going to a election for that town and it’s two cats basically battling it out
Medieval cat paintings are hilarious.
The vibe of this video is like owning a cat. So beautifully chaotic
My cat was more physically affectionate than my dog is. She was always all over me in her later years, sleeping in the crook of my arm or my neck, brushing her back against my head when I went to sleep getting her long fur into my nose. Aw I miss her so much 😢
so sorry for your loss, dude. she sounded like the sweetest baby
My cat has two sides She's either walks like a woman in the Victorian age wearing a 20-piece ball gown or she looks like a character from a zombie apocalypse movie
I’m over here with six cats, so if you cannot tell, I am definitely a cat person, but I also have a dog, but the way that he explain what it’s like to have a cat is perfect. There are so many things that are amazing about cats, but they’re impossible to explain just impossible.
Nothing feels better than being in a neighborhood with cats. I can just go on a walk, feed kitties treats, and give them pets. Some may be scared, but none of them are mean.
They are the graceful welcome brigade :)
Once I was sitting in my garden, with the back door half open. I wasn’t really paying attention and 10 min later, 5 cats walked into my house. I let them outside, petted them and gave them some food.
Before that incident I didn’t know if I liked dogs more or cats. Now I know, and it’s def cats. : D
Some cats are mean. Really mean
@@plusmin09because they're scared. not all scared cats are mean, but more than most mean cats are scared.
@@phonegloomy Fair enough, and I assume you're right that in a lot of cases it's a defense response. Just like humans have personalities, cats do a s well, and I've met some mean cats!
All the cats I've ever met were completely different they are just like people, they all have different personalities and sometimes that personality changes. Like after my grandpa passed away who was basically the primary care giver to my cat, he became so cuddly and will always sleep with me, purr, lick my arms and face( even though before he could be quite grumpy and aggressive)
One of my cats went from being super reserved and just not giving a shit about anything to actually being happy and nice when we took him out of my brother’s house (which was always a really loud and stressful environment lol)
Owning a cat is like having a teenager.
Having a dog is like having a toddler.
I think I’ve managed to find the perfect cat since it
- Poos inside
- let’s me rub her stomach (unless in a hyper mood)
- and like most cats is just the most loving thing in the house
Everybody seems to be sharing very heart warming stories about their cats so I wanna add a little bit of levity to the comments section by saying this. I had a cat named Chase when I was a teenager, had him since he was a little kitten and I loved the shit outta that cat.
One of the main reasons for my deep seeded admiration for him was that he would be an absolute asshole to every single living thing near him other than me.
It was so god damn funny to be holding him like a baby, snuggling up to his face and scratching his little tummy while one of my friends watched. Then when one of them tried the same thing they would become terrified by the unabated vitriol shown to them by that little furball. I miss ya Chase, you're one of the good one-well no actually you were a dick but hey you made me happy.
You never know how much you need a cat till it walks up to you, trills and then falla onto you while purring.
it's some chaos and sillyness in normally monotonous home stuff
Exotic shorthair cats have flat faces and are basically what you get if you want a cat without the attitude. These dorks are loving, loyal, and actually have more in common with dogs personality wise. Each one is unique, and I’ve owned MANY over the years. One of them is friends with my bird, another is scared pissless of it, and one of them just doesn’t really care it’s pretty much a vegetable. They also hug my leg for pets which is something raccoons do and that’s awesome! They’re also incredibly dumb though so don’t expect them to come home if you leave the door open for a second or two. They aren’t outdoor cats and they will die if you let them escape. One of mine got out once and literally hid in a bush on my front porch and yelled until I picked her up. They’re basically half cat half dog in a way but they’re the best cat for people who don’t want the Dickish personality of a cat but also don’t want the high energy dog.
The best part of owning my cat are the moments where I realise she might truly care for me because I earned her care. She didn’t just smother me with it. I know that’s cumbersome for many people but that’s part of the fun for some cat owners. I had to go out of my way to bond with her and love her. So when she shows me some of that in return it feels good. I can’t fully describe the immense joy I feel when I wake up in the middle of the night and see my cat walk into my room, then jump on top of me to just lie down. Then I pet her and hear her pur as I drift back into sleep. It’s a kind of peace and tranquility that you don’t get anywhere else.
Nothing can replace the feeling of ten pounds of fuzz voluntarily rumbling on you. It's basically free therapy.
My bf was a hardcore 'dog person'..
Until he met my cat.
He refuses to admit it, but he's a total cat-dad now 😂
