Fuel economy nearly as good as my wife’s CRV, loads of room and comfort, effortless acceleration, so easy to drive, carry just about anything home from the store. 3 years of ownership and have to say most enjoyable useable vehicle I’ve ever owned. In town or on the highway a pleasure to drive.
malkionx my 2017 did not have the spray in bed liner when new, I was washing the truck on a cold day and decided to get up in the bed to wash the roof, I don’t remember steel beds being that slick, but swish I was laying on my side before I knew it. Had the Upol Raptor sprayed in it that week.
In my family we have a 2015 Ram 1500 4x4 and a 2018 Hyundai GT Sport. The truck is a great long distance cruiser, tows the travel trailer and does the dirty work, and the car is a sport fun drive and gets decent fuel mileage. It's a great combo. The 4 door truck will continue to be a family vehicle because suv's are getting pricey, especially if you need it to tow. The small suv's don't have much more room than our hatchback and they aren't fun to drive.
Got my first pick up truck ford 150 V8 4x4 2018 37k miles grey n oh boy I'm loving it only been 2 days but the drive is smooth n I'm using it for daily use n I don't really tow but at work we sometimes cut down trees n we make l9gs n take them home..... n my mpg thr highest I seen so far is 23 mpg not too shabby
the 2.7 is a cast iron block, all the others are aluminium. IDK why, but Ford is having trouble with the others, but this one is just flat bulletproof. It's going to be the darkhorse champion
Why do people buy sports cars? You don't need to go fast. Same thing with trucks. Some people just like driving trucks even though they may not use it as much as they probably should. Good review otherwise
George Parker I just got a 2018 f150 as a family vehicle to go from point a to point b. Nice safe reliable vehicle. I don’t want a small car or even an SUV.
Typical Cucknadian... "YOU DO NOT buy this truck for this reason, you will buy something smaller, please." Freakin' socialists think they can tell people what they can and can't do. God, that pisses me off. PS I own this truck, with the max tow package 3.5l V6 EB. $56k (American) sticker, paid $42k. It's my daily driver because I LOVE pickup trucks.
I haul occasionally but for me its the space inside. I don't like the cramped space of a car. Who cares why someone prefers a truck to a car. If I want a truck I am getting a truck even if it is solely for driving.
How is it going Man? Really good review. It's funny how you said that if you aren't doing certain things that you shouldn't be driving such pick up....i am a stay home dad and I take care of the home affairs like grocery store runs and run errands including picking up the kiddos from school. I drive a magnetic color 2017 f-150 fx4 sport trim with a coyote v-8 engine and not the eco-crap. And from experience I can tell you that whether I load up groceries, I'm loading up equipment to go mow my mom's property or go on a date with my wife....i can do it all. These trucks are very capable, comfortable and powerful.
@@paulhunter9613 to each their own buddy, I have a 2019 FX4 with a coyote engine and borla atak exhaust and mud tires now, I just simply love the Ford truck with the coyote engine.
Great review from regular dude... I did buy the 2018 Lariat, 502 chrome package, and simply love it!!! Camping 1, or you and wife can either set up in the back seat with seats up, or camp inside bed. Either way It can get you to the site and if late, Both of you have somewhere to camp out in a bind….lol Yes,.... I would NEVER go back to any car, or 2 WD truck as this package has it ALL!!!!
I would go with the 5.0 coyote V8. It’s got plenty of power 395 hp and 400 pounds of torque which is plenty of power for most needs. Tried and true engine and those turbos are expensive when they go out and they will go out. Plus you can’t beat that V-8 sound.
2.7l ecoboost has better low end torque. If you properly maintain the 2.7l no, the turbos wont go out. 2.7l ecoboost is the strongest engine ford makes with its CGI block (besides maybe the new 7.3l superduty engine), offset cracked rod ends, its built like a little diesel engine. I have 84,500 miles on my 2.7l no issues
Better watch out ford has shit the bed on the new gen3 5.0l coyote engines ticks bad timing chain tensioners that cause a god awful squeal when accelerating and most of all the widespread oil consumption issues where people are having to have long blocks or short blocks replaced new motors at 2thousand miles no thank you and believe I'm worried on a personal level too not just being a hater of ford I just spent 42 thousand dollars on a 2019 ford f150 xlt with the 5l v8 and fx4 package and to be honest with you the widespread problems the 18 and 19s are having this shit has me honestly scared I just spent what I consider big money on somthing that is not going to last so like I said in the beginning I would have totally agreed with you to always go with the tried and true and easy to work on 5l v8 but they made changes to it that have ruined that motor in my opinion
@@1FiftyOverland Just picked up a 2018 XLT with the 2.7L EB. 46k miles. Only thing I will be towing is a fishing boat less than 2k lbs. good to hear you’ve had no issues!
My wife’s 2014 CRV gets 22 mpg, my F150 Crew 2.7 4WD gets nearly about 1.5 mpg less, the Ford is quick, quiet, comfortable and much safer! Also carries 5 no problem. F150 is a great daily driver. At the end of 2 years I’m amazed at just how good the Ford is for the money and how way over rated the Honda is, great reputation, but merely a transportation device with no soul!
Great review for a man that doesn’t like trucks! After years of driving Toyota Tacoma’s, I feel like my lil 2.7 is a luxury rocket ship and mines just a basic STX 4wd Crew.
I have this truck 2018 purchased it jan 2019 I love it and have towed trailers boats and many long distance trips. I would stay away from the eco boost as alot of them have major problems after about 130000 k Google it the turbos have issues
I wish they had a truck in between the Ranger and the Full Size F150. The ranger would be perfect for me but the back seat is tiny and would be fairly uncomfortable for use, especially with passengers in the back for hunting season.
Nice video but you could have taken that 1700 dollars that you spent on the moon roof and purchased the 3.5L with the max towing package that comes with the 13,200 pounds of towing.
Great review, however I would personally keep the personal opinions out. You don't get to dictate why someone buys a truck. If I want to drop 50k on a vehicle I drive to work and back and nothing else, I will. Nobody wants to hear "if you reason is [this], you should never buy [this]." Again though, great review.
Just an opinion Radiostar. I hope you are OK, after that violation. Perhaps the next one will not offend you personally. WOW!...…... Relax.....lol dude.
2.3 liter? Bruh, did you mean 2.7? I just bought a 2018 Lariat power stroke F150 for almost 4K under blue book. It only had 23.6 K miles on it!! On a 5 yr old truck! Getting close to 30 mpgs on the highway. I went from a Coyote 5.0 V8 F150 to this, so I miss the power but I'll take the mileage. It's so quiet. My last truck had borla atak exhaust so the whole neighborhood got up when I did, 😬 oops.
says not to use it as a daily driver but for towing and working. Shows video of him not using any of those features and driving from a cottage to town as a daily driver.
the other reason trucks are so popular is because the soccer moms killed the SUV which resulted in the crossover vehicles. The only true SUV is the 4 runner. So now if you want an SUV but don't want a 4Runner, you have to get a truck. It's true, in your statement, of who doesn't need this truck, but those people do need a proper suv. Bring back the Jeep Grand Cherokees, the ford explorers, the blazers, etc. of the late 90's and you would see less family's driving trucks.
So I have a 2018 Ford F150 XLT with the 5.0 Lightning Blue and I do use my truck to go to WalMart and other places.
