      Militant congratulations brother, I’ve had my 2017 STX Crew 4wd with awesome lil 2.7 ecoboost for coming up in 2 years, hasn’t missed a beat, more I drive it m, the more I appreciate just how strong, quiet and economical this engine is in a full size truck, hope you love yours too!

    Ford need to soften up the rear suspension. My 2016 F150 bounce so bad in the back. I call it a F165. Also I rented a 2017 Ram and it ride like a 1000 lbs.truck. F150 ride like a 1500 lbs aka 3/4 ton truck.
    2:47 He said customer were asking for a diesel. When Dodge came out with their half ton diesel. Ford claimed their customers didn't want a half ton diesel.

    • @Davido50
      @Davido50 7 лет назад +1

      blackericdenice ..opinion! Ford always rates high for ride & composure plus super rigid frames.

    • @Davido50
      @Davido50 7 лет назад +1

      blackericdenice ..its true..there wasn't "seemingly" a demand for a Ford F150 diesel but RAM took a chance putting the Fiat small diesel in their truck an was a sales hit. Kudos to RAM. Now Ford soon releasing a Ford designed/built small powerstroke diesel itself that should be class leading in power/refinement/durability. More competition & better high tech trucks is great for ALL us truck buyers!👍🇺🇸

      Both new F150 & Silverado are state-of-the-art 1/2 ton top quality pick-up trucks. Not only the best American Auto Co's have to offer.. but are absolutely best available! Period. The F150 gets the overall best truck nod due to technology /engineering prowess / reliability. You can't go wrong with either trucks! You DID ask which truck was best tho.. that would be the Ford F150. #1 every year. Truck buyers say so.. most importantly.

      He's done some offroading at a park he knows pretty well before. He's also had some manufacturers get upset at him for taking their off road vehicle off road. And from my understanding he has only damaged 1 and that was back in 2014.I'm guessing that combined with an unfamiliar trail could be nerve wracking.

    • @Davido50
      @Davido50 7 лет назад +4

      irafael8080 ..both are nice trucks no doubt but an F150 XLT FX4 Ecoboost V6 or Coyote 5.0 is better and if well maintained will last 20yrs easy.

    • @skyisdlimit6125
      @skyisdlimit6125 7 лет назад

      irafael8080 if you want someone to last so many years get a tundra. I love the new f150 I’ll get one with the 5.0 but the tundra is also a good contender. Chevy is pretty good as well and has better rebate and incentive. Ram is nice but total waste with its ridiculous resale value. the resale value alone will keep me from buying one plus the quality isn’t that good compared to other brands

    These tracks are neat but designed to show the strengths and hide the weaknesses. But to be honest, 98% of owners will never do most of hurdles.
    I like when all trucks are tested together, to extremes, and on normal roads, and show strengths, weaknesses, and limitations.
    The Ford F150 Platinum version is beautiful\classym probably the best looking truck. $55k or more is a little steep, as shown must be near $65k or more.

But honestly, my 78' Ford Fiesta could have done that course without a camera to avoid the trees. Just ask my wife, then girlfriend and she'll tell you horror stories about the capabilities of the Fiesta. Come on Ford, get a better test track and show us the edge of the envelope so we don't have to look for it ourselves.

    ok guys i want a 2018 F150 3.0 diesel how much do you guys think that potion will add to the price tag on an XL model even if its just a guess from past experiences i want an idea if its worth waiting because as of now im in a 1982 F150 with 628,000 miles and shes probably got 20,000 miles left in her if my lucky she just feels like she could die at any time now

    • @kingdaniel3519
      @kingdaniel3519 7 лет назад

      From what Ford is saying the 3L diesel will only be available in the higher trims. You're better off just getting a XL with either the 2.7 or 5.0

    • @Friedrich-Wilhelm-1980
      @Friedrich-Wilhelm-1980 7 лет назад

      i just got confirmation from a ford rep today at the dealer that it will be available in all trim levels and that they are trying to re aim the truck towards tradesmen but it all depends on how the dealers order their stock
      BUT i was assured they will sell in all trim packages from the ford factory

    • @kingdaniel3519
      @kingdaniel3519 7 лет назад

      If it's available on all trims it would benefit them a lot, it's just not what's been said for almost a year now. Hope your friend is right.

    • @Friedrich-Wilhelm-1980
      @Friedrich-Wilhelm-1980 7 лет назад

      see the problem is the dealers will only order the most expensive ones to maximize the profit but you can order direct from ford factory and the dealer just gets a handling fee for delivery

    • @Davido50
      @Davido50 7 лет назад +5

      C Michael ..Tundra may have had it for bit but its not totally new to F150! Ford was 1st to have an assisted tailgate for easier/smoother closing on all new for 2004 models. I'm not a Tundra fan personally cause I work hard & play hard with my trucks an the F150s are nearly indestructable plus best tech /features of any 1/2 ton. Gotta say tho all the new pickups by every manufacturer are nice & seem well built. Gotta "drive them all" when shopping new trucks is my advice to everyone!

    • @djayt1215
      @djayt1215 7 лет назад

      It's too bad not much has changed on the Tundra since 2007. Although it is nice that they are making safety tech standard on their trucks in 2018, and not just an option for the 1% like Ford and GM. If Ram and Nissan Follow Toyotas lead with standard safety, they can start digging into Ford and GM

    As always another good job/review man. For me tho I'm not liking this Ford that much. I do like the front camera and the 4 handles inside to hold onto, heated rear seats accessories is nice to but ends there for me. Sticking with my Chevy.

      Joseph Smith ..Chevy is a fine truck but if seriously looking at new trucks test drive the new F150 back to back w/new Silverado is BEST way to compare & decide what's best for you etc.

      I can't do the Chevy. No rear a/c vents. What are they thinking?

    I think the 15-17 look a lot better. The way the lights and grille mesh in this just doesn't make sense.

    This is just a cosmetic change (or midcycle refresh) for F150 done every 5 years. I'm gonna wait for the big redesign.

    • @hfr8343
      @hfr8343 7 лет назад +2

      Santa Joe I think everyone is aware it's a midcycle refresh

    • @Steve-yr5vi
      @Steve-yr5vi 7 лет назад +1

      Why would you wait for the redesign? It's a truck the redesign isn't going fly or float or anything like that it'll be another truck, probably a little different will have wheels and engine, just like this one. And likely if you're simply looking at a video and a few pictures which seems to be all the effort you made in researching the changes in the 2018 F150 before making this comment, you'll likely not know, unless of course in the video they say "complete redesign".

    I like the exterior and the performance but to me that interior looks very outdated compared to the Ram 1500 and GM trucks. I remember when the 2011 model had the same layout and same materials.

    • @Davido50
      @Davido50 7 лет назад +1

      David Nacson ..all the new American brand trucks have beautiful interiors I must say.. but newer F150s get most often compared to a German luxury sedan by majority of tests /reviews. Buy what u like best! 🇺🇸🇺🇸

      David Mathew ..stronger suspension/super rigid frame etc U can't compare a Subie to a purpose built 1/2 ton pickup truck as advanced as F150. Nothing against Subaru but it won't hang with an F150 or any new 1/2 ton truck when going gets tough and brutal. Just sayin. #offroadlife #F150

    how many gears will be enough? 12? bugatti chiron has 7-speed DCT to reach 258mph. Ford ecoboost turbos needs spool up at 6000rpms to get max HP. 2.7L v6?! why not a 1.6L from ford fiesta. smaller is better right?

    "simple work truck" with a leather and wood interior, yea okay. How much does it cost? 70k or so? Why cant anyone just make a simple no frills pickup anymore. Manual trans, manual windows and door locks, 4x4 but with none of the electronics stuff that some of us just dont want or need, but with a modern turbo'd 4 or 6 cylinder that provides excellent fuel economy and power. Even a chevy 1500 WT with an extended cab and 4x4 is nearly 40K sticker!

    Nice truck, but I think I'll keep my 1999 F-150 XLT 4x4 regular cab:) I value driver skill. I fear all this technology is "dumbing down" drivers.

    Nice cab room. Just not sure I want as much tech as this thing has on it.I hope some of it can be turned off. For example if I come upon a bunch of violent acting lunatics blocking a road I would not be happy if the truck stopped when I wanted to plow on through.
