Synthesia uses a note highway like Rock Band. You'd just need a MIDI keyboard (RB3 keytar counts) and the means to hook it up to a computer/tablet/phone. pro keys - you play with all 25 keys (2 octaves) like on real keyboard (also you play exact notes exactly so you can read chart and play it on real keyboard and you will actually play the song)
@FUGGNUTZ You can actually use overdrive. There is a button on the MIDI adapter that activates Overdrive. And yes, its right, you can use almost any midi compatible keyboard with mad catz's Midi Pro adapter, but you will still play in a 2 octave range. Nice thing about it is that you can play your normal key sounds simultanously und turn the keyboard playback off via in-game menu. what you play in the wrong octave in some cases, but you can hear that the notes are right.
@CopperheadViper It's cause you're supposed to use your left hand for activation overdrive and whammying. Even then, the keyboard only has 2 octaves...

how long is the keytar in inches. and how far can you spread your fingers. i can spread mine just over 8 inches and im only 13. it might get longer as i get older. im only asking because i saw the last keytar tutorial or whatever they call them on RB3
Yo I just got this game like yesterday, and was wandering about using one hand (cuz I've been learning the instrument in rb3) and was wandering if anybody could give me tips or pointers on how to play with the right hand so fluently? Also I have troubles with the 4 and 3 note chords and was wandering wat I could do to practice that and get it down faster?

What I've been doing is doing the easy tutorial, completely easy goals then the Medium tutorial and so on...But I've noticed that your fingers move differently than the gave suggests. As it tells me to reach beneath the sharp black note with my thumb sometimes.

Yes I did. I am playing in real hard rock band as an organist and keyboardist. Left hand is not charted in RB3 that's right but since in RB3 you have to play every note precisely just as it been recorded in studio and also because of RB3 engine it's a lot more harder to play the song accurately in RB3 than on real keyboard.
I've found that playing these games has improved my form and accuracy, unlocking my pinky on bass and guitar, and it looks like getting up to pro in keyboard might help my keyboard playing in some of those way as well. I've been in bands for a lot of my life and will continue to be, but this game is probably the easiest way to share what I enjoy with non musicans and stay fresh while having fun. Don't give up on it +LuisBonillas it's a great game.
I'm not sure what just happened, but my first guess would be you made sweet love to that keyboard. I've been trying to play keyboard for the past week or so. I'm on medium and I'm DEFINITELY not playing the way you are with one hand and your thumbs which I'm assuming is the right way to play anyway. My progress is good so far, which is good because I'm tired of living in my brothers shadow on Bass. He won't touch the thing so now's my chance to shine.
@EasyExpertVillage you are supposed to use only right hand, tracks are right on piano I can say (only octaves can differ cause we hvae only 2 octaves keyboard)... for me its easier with 1 hand but it depends on an actual player some people find it easier with 2 hands... well you have many videos of the game here on my channel and anywhere else on youtube... if you are into music games then RB3 is probably the best music game :)
i really love gh:wor and its fun to play it, but here's RB so much better. In GH you play the piano with guitar and bass and in RB you can play the real piano notes.

Don't bother, If anyone wants to learn how to play a keyboard, it is not this game. The keys for this game have only 2 octaves, while real keyboards have 7. It takes a lot of explaining to tell you the differences, but if your girl wants to learn how to play piano, Don't bother trying to teach her using the FAKE keyboard.

is just for fun. Videogames are not here to replace real life. As an example you don't have to be a real assasin to play Hitman or Assasin's Creed or an expert driver to play Gran Turismo. I find music / rythm games harmless, addictive and fun.

Anyway, they mean charting the bass clef. They do not do that for RB3 Pro Keys.

old comment i know but there is pro drums and pro guitar and also there is an adapter that makes it so you can learn the songs on real instrument
