Flicker is really good with miirym as well! Get more of those copy triggers! So displacer kitten can get really out of control in this deck. Can also play other instant speed flicker spells that will double as protection
Really have to agree. There's so many directions to take Miirym that it's bonkers. Love my Ur Dragon sure and it's biggest advantage of it lands on the board is card draw. That's probably the only thing that hold Miirym back from being even more of a monster in my opinion.
I have a totally on-theme combo for this deck: Astral Dragon + Cursed Mirror. Have Astral Dragon make two copies of Cursed Mirror, who will then enter as copies of Astral Dragon, which will trigger and make four copies of Cursed Mirror, who will enter as copies of Astral Dragon... you see where this is going. Infinite flying hasty 4/4 dragons FTW. Also, you end up with an arbitrarily large amount of Cursed Mirrors (or whatever you decided to copy to stop the loop) should your alpha strike be foiled.
I love playing this deck, and I love the ideas about the deck tech. There are a couple of things I wanted to touch on, however, the statement about Ancient Copper Dragon is quite superfluous when Incubator, Goldspan, and Balefire add up to approximately $110 USD at the time of this comment. Herald's Horn and Old Gnawbone would be a better option over Incubator if cost is that much of a concern. Remove Goldspan for either Hellkite Charger or Adrix and Nev. Actually, Adrix and Nev is insane in this deck.
@@AffinityForCommander in retrospect, after reading the comment, it sounded like I was dunking on you guys and I certainly didn't intend to leave that impression. Dragons are SO DAMN expensive, and it's like parsing hairs when we start talking about prices, unfortunately. (Thanks WotC) I love Miirym as a commander. The deck is insane because of what it does, and how it affects the board. So, I guess my point is, thank you for your content. I always enjoy it the perspective. ;)
I have had an Ur-dragon deck since it was released. I now also have a Mirrym deck. They are both great. The Ur-Dragon is more resilient but Miirym is more explosive in my experience.
I can only think of one word when I think of Miirym strats: CLONES! The first Clone creature you drop copying Miirym will die (or cause Miirym to die) to the legend rule, but you'll still get a nonlegendary token copy of Miirym. Afterwards, your other Clone creatures can copy that token, resulting in an ever-growing army of Miirym. If the dragons' ETBs are already insane with one Miirym, imagine with two or more... 🐉🐉🐉🐉🐉🐉🐉🐉🐉🐉 They also have another advantage: if your opponent has better creatures than you, you can catch up by copying them. A great way to teach a lesson to that Ur-Dragon player trying to one-up you. Additionally, if you add Maskwood Nexus or Arcane Adaptation, the non-Dragon creatures you copy will ETB as dragons, much to Miirym's joy.
I took apart a Gyruda companion deck that was built around Clones to put together Miirym clones and it's been extremely fun. Being able to fall back on cloning opponents things has been pretty sweet in games where the main Miirym plan hasn't been going well.
I'd play both sakashimas and spark double to copy miirym. They'll trigger the original miirym and you'll get to keep all of them because they all get around the legendary rule
In addition to those, any regular Clone creature can be used. The first one will die to the legend rule, but you'll still get a nonlegendary token copy of Miirym, which your other Clone creatures can copy.
you read every comment huh? do yah? DO YAH? did you know that the chimichanga got its name because chimi and changa come from two Mexican Spanish terms: chamuscado (past participle of the verb chamuscar), which means seared or singed, and changa, related to chinga (third-person present tense form of the vulgar verb chingar), a rude expression for the unexpected or a small insult
I think Miirym loses out very slightly to The-UrDragon due to the eminence ability and color acesss However Myrrim make a very strong case for the best non-5 color commander for dragons
@xelic1996 it's not so much the dragons that the colors bring to the table (granted ancient gold dragon gets slept on as a win con). But you do lose out on the removal and reanimation packages white and black bring.
I have Miirym clones and Ur-Dragon changelings which means I have decks for potentially the two best dragon tribal commanders with maybe 5 or 6 actual dragons between them 🤣
I'm not a big fan of mana rocks in green. So easily destroyed and you have access to so much land ramp AND enchantment based ramp such as wild growth, utopia sprawl, and fertile ground. Most players have an aversion to land destruction so they don't play any so you're highly unlikely to get 2 for 1ed. Wild growth and utopia sprawl have the added benefit of only costing 1 mana and can pay for themselves the turn they come out and fertile ground can make any mana so excellent mana fixing
The Carnelian Orb and Dragon's Hoard are totally worth it, though... the Orb grants haste when used to cast a dragon and the Hoard draws cards. There's also Cursed Mirror, which can be "sacrificed" to generate a nonlegendary copy of Miirym for additional dragon shenanigans, or make an infinite combo with Astral Dragon.
Flicker is really good with miirym as well! Get more of those copy triggers! So displacer kitten can get really out of control in this deck. Can also play other instant speed flicker spells that will double as protection
Yeah, the fact that it's an ETB and not cast is bonkers! 😳
I run a worldgorger package in my Miirym deck as she enables the loop and there already a multitude of pay-offs with etb effects in the deck
A great way to win! 😄
Excellent job on this one guys! It’s a deck I have really wanted to build and this a great start.
Hope it helps your deck construction! 😃
Selesnya eulogist is great with miirym! Can populate the token copies miirym makes you and the added benefit of being graveyard hate
Populate card are a good shout! 😄
Miirym is actually an amazing clone commander
Indeed they are! 😄

Can do dance of many replacing cursed mirror as well! Don't get the haste though.
I love it! 😁
Astral Dragon + phyrexian metamorph
Astral dragon + parallel lives, a quintillion 3/3 dragons

I'm skeptical of whether or not she can do it. BUT...It's close and I run her in my 99 of the Ur Dragon.
