Great video! Had the answer to my question in the first 30 seconds.
Good stuff. Thank you!
Awesome video 👍 very helpful info.
Thank You for the video
great video
Do you have any videos on dealing with stairs? We have a split level house. The entry is being tiled, but there are 3 steps going down to the living room that are carpeted and will remain carpet, but we're not sure how to deal with the transition.
Do you put that tac strip under the carpet when you do that ? These seem to be kinda sticking out of the carpet somebody might step on them. And if so does the metal strip over the tac strip or you want it put it further back than the tac strip.
What do I do if I have an old carpet, and just put in new tile, leaving a 1/2 inch rise between them?
What if you are transitioning from tile to tile, ie you dont have nailing at the carpet edge?
Good basic info. But it seem this is always easier if the under floor is wood. Concrete slabs are a whole different thing.
Raymond Broderick I have concrete what do i do in that case?
+GVO Hosthenprofit Me too. We gotta hammer drill in the concrete with a masonry drill bit where the holes are and use concrete screws.
+GVO Hosthenprofit I will just take off some concrete nails that are already on the carpet gripper strip and use them on the transition bar. They will hammer into concrete very easy. No drilling is necessary.
Dont use anything but tackstrip, tuck the cpt between the strip and tile ,beautiful and no trip point on slab or wood
What if the floor is a concrete slab?
I was looking for that part too
why do this though? carpet will tuck under pre existing ceramic with a hook bill knife
Every video I've watched on this subject whether its an actual install or an example, they're using berber (not carpet). Berber thin, rigid and easy to cut straight lines. I have very thick CARPET which is much harder to work on compared to that stinkin berber crap!
Berber is good for indoor, outdoor carpet
What if the whole floor is tile?
Guess this RUclips contractor foreman is too busy to answer or he got fired from his job, lol.
Don't work if your subfloor is concrete.
Tuck carpet to tile. No need for metal to ugly it up
my video was fudged up. theze peeps lying
