I know the Internet has many armchair experts and super tuners, so brace yourself for the barrage of tuning PhD holders. Thing is love about the car is not necessarily the top speed, but the grunt, the handling and the pitch and roll in turning. Makes you feel like you're proper sending a real rally car.

@@dgrc I’m 52 now mate & have been into the RC hobby for many years & have had my fair share of nitros lol, I have a Hpi Baja which is a 2 stroke petrol & then many Electric cars inc the latest being the Arrma Firestorm & HPi WR8 flux which is just amazing, it handles so well & it goes like stink, sooo flippin fast on a 3s lipo battery ! Another good thing about the new release WR8 Subaru is that all the previous Ken block fiesta bodies will fit if the rear body post tower is just rotated inwards & tweaked. The Nitro version gives that awesome sound if that nitro engine is mastered then it is a lot to use for sure. All the best my friend 🤜🏻🤛🏻👍🏼
If you were able to check acceleration I'm sure you can get a quicker time with higher nitro fuel. You're probably hitting peak rpms with either fuel, but the higher nitro fuel will allow you more bottom end while still reaching the top end.
Got to be lean to be mean 😎 39mph is good. I would recommend leaning out you low speed needle a little bit to help it idle and start easier without needing as much trim. Be very careful though as the low speed needle seems to be more sensitive to adjustment than the high speed needle. You might also need to drop the idle a tiny bit as well. Jq racing has a very long, but good video on this.
I'm thinking of swapping out the stock engine with a Nova, but I don't know if I will need an adapter or not and I don't want to order the engine and find out I can't use it. Has anyone done an engine swap on one of these yet?
Great vids on the wr8 nitro mate! I'm so hyped for this car. I want to buy it in a couple of days the only problem that here in europe (hungary) I can only get 16% nitro for it and I do not want to break the engine... Do You think that it will run fine with 16% too? I really want this car:D
@@dgrc If anything the 16% nitro should have MORE lubricant than the 20% nitro since you have less nitro you have more of everything else. Less nitro means it will run cooler so your engine will last longer too.
Not bad, If your brakes aren't rubbing I would try to run a different clutch setup.. Seems to be slipping a bit. And then you can go for better top speed gearing. Sweet video!
I think the higher the percentage- the higher the amount of nitro methane in the fuel. The more nitromethane you have in the fuel, the faster it can burn. I would presume if you are burning the fuel faster, to get the maximum efficiency you would have to increase the amount of air into the cylinder also. Be careful when adding more air into the cylinder though(leaning out) as the leaner you go, the hotter your engine will run.
Not sure how many tanks you've had through it, but it will be probably 5-10L of fuel before the engine peaks in performance. Then it will be downhill from there :)
Just an FYI it is not good for a Nitro Engine to sustain a high rpm for that long. Once you've reached peak rpm you should decelerate emediatly, or your nitro Engine will not last long.😬
Stop leaning your engine pal it was at its best on the first run ! Simply change your clutch bell , go up 2 teeth , If your running a 12 tooth pinion put a 14 tooth on , you will then get 45mph 😉 Don't go much over 2 teeth as you will start to burn out your clutch , 2 teeth should be fine though , iv had nitro cars for many years

Haha you won’t be disappointed with the nitro Subaru. I need to fix the gearbox on my new savage as it got stuck in gear.

They do recommend 20% - 25%. A 16% isn’t going to have as much lubricant as 20% there fore it will shorten the longevity of the piston and sleeve.

Put a after market exhaust on it, should do the trick.

Lean is taking away fuel and adding more air it’s runs hotter , rich is to added fuel and take away air runs cooler and more lubed

I would install taller gearing. The engine sounds like its lightly loaded. It can take much more gearing.

Sounds like the standard gearing is short. Change the pinion gear on the engine for a bigger one and with your 25% you will hit 45mph.
If you can fit a big block engine in it that will make it even faster as you can go up more teeth

Your idle seem to be higher on the 25% and you removed the body vs the 20% with the body.
Wish I still had my Schumacher menace...it had a three speed gear and i got 80mph.

It doesn’t come with a 2 speed but like anything you could always turn it into 2 speed, it’s got really good acceleration and speed stock tbf😁
