Yeah! Love Nitro! Thanks for making some more nitro content, Greg. My favourite videos for sure. Makes me nostalgic for the early 2000s (the golden era of nitro and the Rc hobby/forums) So happy and impressed HPI are making more nitros. A great and bold move in my eyes. Thanks for the great video as always!
People underestimate nitro or fear it, but I bought a Losi T nitro truggy learned to tune and put my 3.8 proline badlands on it and I do flips and everything with it, it’s a blast!
This brought back memories of my HPI 4.6 monster truck I bought used at a hobby shop and restored it 12 year's ago. And I knew nothing about nitro rc but with patience, they're a lot of fun. Thanks for the video
Awesome! If you haven't done it, maybe do a video on what it takes/what you need to get into nitro rc. It seems everyone covers electric but not enough love towards nitro! Keep up the great content!
My first time commenting on your awesome channel. Great work man, cool footage, pro presentation and NITRO 🔥🔥🔥! I wish nitro had mass appeal, it’s so much fun and so underrated at this point. Thank you for keeping the NITRO torch burning strong🔥🔥🔥! Looking forward to your great videos, some of the best on RUclips man!! ❤❤❤❤❤!
@@slottygw2wvw842 not true for everyone. I love messing around with nitro. Fueling up and tuning and the smell and sound I love everything about it. Yeah it takes more effort and skill than plugging in a battery that is true.
Nice!! I just received the same 3.0 a few days ago. 2 tanks of fuel through it for break in now for the 3rd half throttle tank break in then I get to have fun. :) Thank you for all of your reviews. It really does help us to make decisions on what to purchase.
I was really happy to see it comes with the windscreen already cut out for air flow to help keep the engine cool 😎. I personally would have to paint the wheels the correct shade of gold, but it’s still an awesome piece of kit man, probably too expensive for me knowing hpi. Niiiiiiiiiiice video man Sweeeeeeeeet tip with the heat gun. Holy guacamole but that sounds amazing 🤩
So good to see a nitro ripping it up!! My 10yr old Thunder Tiger EB4 still goes strong, but I've been looking at a couple of Kyosho's, USA1, I don't like the plastic gears on that and people have had problems with them. The Alpine looks great, on road only though. This Scooby would be perfect for the terrain where I live 👍🏻 Thanks for showing.
My whole collection has been Lipo, I'm so glad when I saw this I purchased it a month ago. This is my first Nitro car LOL...Ive got to find out what I need to run it. Great video.
I have given up all my EP cars over nitros since I got my hands few just years back... Hoped you won't be in the same situation as me...🤣 My only regret is why I didn't get into nitros much earlier as there were many cool cool kits out there in the markets, especially those 1/8th or Superten scale with 4 stroke OS engines...
Been running these little screamy bois for 20 years now. Looks like a fun little 'toss it in the car and rip it at work end of the day' car. Reliable engine, plenty of power without being too much power, good suspension.
Awesome. When I got back into rc I was strictly electric for a while. When I got a nitro again I was hooked and now I have 4 nitro cars and a plane. Imo no rc collection is complete without a nitro. That wr8 looks great dirty. Lol
I really dig the NITRO, its just so messy. The guy at my local Hobby Town keeps trying get me to buy the FLUX. But, I told him in buying a Gen8 V2 before I get an on road/rally car. More rocks than flat surfaces in rural Wisconsin.
@@rcdriver Most definitely part of the experience, nothing like that smell and sound. I ran nitro cars and control-line planes back in the late 90s. In the early 2000s I had a blast running cars around the parking lot with my college buddies and using our CAD class to design a couple buggies.
As much as I like Nitro cars, electric cars are just so much better today, especially for speed. Take my Kyosho Fantom, a 1:12 scale car that I recently modified to run over 100Mph by using an off the shelf Castle Creations ESC & Motor (7700kv). Speeds that for example. my Kyosho Inferno MP10 TKI2 Nitro would only be able to do it if I used a complicated Nitrous Oxide System. Though it would only be for a short period of time and you could run the risk of permanently damaging your engine, especially after multiple uses, where as the Kyosho Fantom will be able to reach those speeds over and over again with ease. Yes Nitrous Oxide Systems also exist for RC cars, I personally use a custom solution from RBinovations. The same firm also offers superchargers for Nitro cars, I haven't tried it yet but it might be safer option to use. I just ordered one for my Kyosho so I report back if there is any changes to my speedometer.
I want to get into nitro I started with electric and haven't been in the hobby for a while. I would like to come back with a nitro, I think might buy this as my first nitro
O yeah:). She’s on the pipe. I haven’t heard that since two-stroke motorcycle day’s racing. I know exactly what that means ! 👌. I had a KX 80cc I would keep up with the 250 cc stock I remember my friend he would always get me in straight away Had a Czechoslovakian CZ 125cc Now it was a Boss too!
Over 15 years ago I got my first nitro which was a Tamiya Subaru with the epic 2003-2004 look. Had perfect replica gold wheels. Now HPI comes out with a brand new one and they put damn orange wheels on it.. Not to mention the bugeye looks worse than the next version. What a shame.. Still want one though.
I really want this Rally Car, unfortunately I cannot afford one, besides there are no tracks near me, I think the closest is 45 miles away. I don't mind bashing but it gets boring fast for me. I have raced electric RC for many years and owned a couple of Nitro 8th scale Truggys but I never learned to properly tune one and never found a video that really showed how to get a proper idle that drops down as like it should. Still I would really like to get one of these and if I could get a few people interested I have room to build a track
I picked one up at my LHS. Had to warranty engine and HRP honored my claim so no complaints there. It is a beautiful car but the components are shite. I pulled all the stock electrics out and ill be breaking in my replacement engine when it comes in. I really hope they continue releases in the nitro rally trim. Really cool car just typical rtr crap components.
The head shim thickness on this engine allows for 20-25% fuel and I was running 25%. I was just leaning those needles to get some excitement from the beast. It was a blast!
I didn’t say it had steel suspension arms. And double wishbone is an A-shaped arm with a single pivot point top and bottom at the outer knuckles. These are an H-shaped arm. C-hub suspension is a correct term used in RC.
It’s fairly easy but boring. Run 4-5 tanks through at low throttle going around in a large parking lot is the easiest break-in method. Then a few more at medium and then start final tuning. Let the engine cool between tanks with the piston bottom dead center.

Looks great. Really reminds me of my Super Nitro RS4 I used to have. May need to add this to the collection..
Its so sad to see nitro dying off as a breed. So few make nitro rtr cars anymore, props to hpi and traxxas for keeping it alive

NITRO 4 life 🏎💨
I love this.
That is a cool car. I haven't run nitro for about ten years. I do fly Giant scale gas planes. I probably should get a nitro something.
Nitro makes brushless power, most people just have no clue how to tune and have never used a good nitro engine like an O.S.

Hey man i really want one but im not sure where I should buy it from any ideas?
How is the driving experience compared to the electric version? I find both super cool. but don't have experience with neither.
Man that was a bashing 👌😎
It's my favorite real car, nearly my favorite crew so I'll buy it. I didn't hear gear change. No 2 speed trans? Nice video brother.
Rc nitro rally cars were like off-road buggies thus usually with single speed tranny for torque...
Please do a Nitro tuning video.
What reciever pack are you using?
Could you do a toutorials on adjusting a Nitro carb
OMG sounds like a scooby on tick over!
Do it got plenty of ground clearance to be run on grass?
thats cool i have a traxxas rustler and my next stop looks like a traxxas rally car any other recommendations???
Awesome dude! but did you do the 5 tank break in procedure or just start ripping it?
Very Nice! If it won't start hot you are in the too lean range. Want more speed just get a higher nitro fuel so it won't be oil starved.
The head shim thickness on this engine allows for 20-25% fuel and I was running 25%. I was just leaning those needles to get some excitement from the beast. It was a blast!
Where do you recommend ordering one of these from?
Can you provide a link on where to purchase this in the US please? Seems like it’s sold out. Great content though!
How did you turn off the rc on the app? 👍🏾
Is it new versions ? How come very few store carry?
What battery pack did you run for the servo?
It doesn't have stamped steel suspension arms. Double wishbone suspension too.
I didn’t say it had steel suspension arms. And double wishbone is an A-shaped arm with a single pivot point top and bottom at the outer knuckles. These are an H-shaped arm. C-hub suspension is a correct term used in RC.
I might have to get one of these.
Nitro… might hold true to Subaru and blow a head gasket
Where can I get one of these bad boys and how much
Great vid, which battery do you run for the servo to replace the 4x AA's?
I ran a Reedy LiFe pack.
no break in process?
What size are the wheel hexes?
What is the approximate time you held the heat gun on the motor? I have an old Losi Aftershock that I've been trying to start up.
1-2 Minutes depending on your heat gun.
Which fuel brand is the nitro pls tell
what kind of gps do you have??
Was it easy to break in the motor? What were the key steps you did to break it in?
It’s fairly easy but boring. Run 4-5 tanks through at low throttle going around in a large parking lot is the easiest break-in method. Then a few more at medium and then start final tuning. Let the engine cool between tanks with the piston bottom dead center.
How far do it go?
wow!
It's Made in USA?
you think putting in a 19t spur instead of the stock 15t would be ok? parking lot basher...
and how much is the electric version cus I have never used the gas version of any car
Now is as good a time to start as any. You will enjoy it if you watch some tuning videos and keep it rich.
It's the same price
Wish it was a 2 speed. Only reason I'm not sold on it. If my revo can go faster I'm not interested
Yes most electric is easier. But I miss the sounds of my rtr-3. .. :)
No break in of engine just fire and go I see
I didn’t show the hours of break-in. As I mentioned in the video, read the manual well which will outline the break in process.
