- I'm just crying the entire time, to be honest.
We're reacting to the last episode of the Obi-Wan Kenobi show. Episode 1x06.
ABOUT: OBI-WAN KENOBI SERIES
Obi-Wan Kenobi is an American television miniseries created for the streaming service Disney+. It is part of the Star Wars franchise and stars Ewan McGregor as the title character, reprising his role from the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Set ten years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005), the series follows Kenobi as he sets out to rescue the kidnapped Princess Leia (Vivien Lyra Blair) from the Galactic Empire, leading to a confrontation with his former apprentice, Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen).

Rogue one next?
Yes please
*DEFINITELY! "Did you know that wasn't me???"* 🤖😁
Well it did win 2 polls already, so definitely YES😊
andor would technically be next then rogue one
Absolutely 👍
Someone pointed out something I missed all these years, but now have a deeper meaning because of this series. In Obi-wan’s final moments before Darth Vader cuts him down in ‘A New Hope’, Obi-wan looks to his left and sees Luke and Leia together. His task complete, he smiles and becomes one with the Force.
How does that have anything to do with this show?
what does it have to do with this episode or show? And its something completly obvious aswell. No need to point that out how could you not notice that. Thats the keypart of that scene. Thats why Obi Wan says "If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine." because only then Obi can become one with the force and manifest as a force ghost. Obi Wan was traind by Qui gon jinn in this technique for a long time, Qui gon jinn discovered the ways of the force and becoming one with it and manifest as a force ghost. He teached Yoda and Obi Wan. Obi Wan helped Anakin doing the same
Nevermind that when that was filmed, Luke and Leia were not yet brother and sister to anyone working on the film (including Lucas) lol
I agree because when I first saw ANH (when it was released originally), I only thought Ben was smiling towards Luke. Now I can believe that he was smiling at seeing the grown Leia, with a certain amount of pride at seeing how she turned out. I take it the same way that old Ben says, "Hello, there," to Artoo when he first sees him on Tatooine.
@@xDawhite He "teached" Yoda? You shit all over this guy's comment, and it was a good comment. All you did was quote Ben's lines from the movie, which had nothing to do with this scene.
"Then my friend is truly dead." - Obi Wan
"Then my father is truly dead." - Luke
Makes sense.
and both were wrong
@@scar4driverYet neither of them knew it at the time. What’s your point dude?
That scar on Vader face was there in return of the Jedi when he took the helmet off..great attention to detail
It is and it isn't because the same thing happened to him in The Clone Wars when he was fighting Ashoka and she cut his helmet. This and that both supposed to be canon so it seems to create a contradiction
This series truly tells us that when Owen and Beru eat it in A New Hope, they went out swinging.
They already went in the ANH novel
Vader: -"Kenobi means nothing"
We All: Yeah, Yeah Wherever xD
The Line "Then my friend is truly dead" was a nice touch and callback(forward?) to Luke when after Vader turns him over to the Emperor Luke says "Then my father is truly dead" and seemed to have an equally powerful emotional impact on Ani.
And also the "You did not kill Anakin. I did" is a call back to Obi-wan telling Luke in Episode 4 that Darth Vader killed his father
I really like your journey through the Star Wars franchise. If you haven’t seen it yet, definitely watch Scott Pilgrim vs The World. It’s like watching a movie, comic book and video game at the same time. There is also a Netflix series that just came out, but it’s best to see the movie first before diving into the series.
Thank you for pausing the movies/shows while you comment. It’s really annoying when reactors talk and talk and completely miss key points because of all their talking. Good job !😊
Most reactors do that because they post entire unedited reactions on their Patreon pages which requires the viewer to have their own copy of the movie and sync it with theirs, making it impossible to continuously pause it. This lady does these strictly for RUclips so can start and stop it as much as she wants and it won't matter
It has its flaws but I like this show anyways. Not Mandalorian or Andor quality but the things I enjoyed outnumber the things I didn’t.
In particular I loved:
- the idea of an Underground Railroad style organization helping Force sensitives escape the Empire (and how one of my favorite Jedi Quinlan Vos helps out on it).
- That short scene of Obi-Wan and the homeless Clone vet. I’m a sucker for Clone characters and I like Obi-Wan has a moment to see they were just used and cast aside when they were no longer useful.
- The Organas and Lars being loving foster parents to the Skywalker twins. I particularly like the sequence of Owen and Beru mounting a defense against Reva. It now makes me wonder/hope they put up a fight against the stormtroopers in A New Hope before dying.
- Obi-Wan and Leia’s relationship. I love the chemistry between the actors and now Obi-Wan has a meaningful relation with both of Anakin’s kids.
- everything about Vader/Hayden’s return. It underscores both the horror at what Anakin became and the tragedy of it all.
- and Ewan McGregor’s performance.
What you said about what if they didn't pick up Anakin, and he was never trained. There are a lot of "What If's" in Star Wars, and most probably that is one of them. An interesting What If is that in which Luke wasn't able to destroy the Death Star, so they hav to flee, Leia is held captive and no Aliance if assembled as everyone fears the Death Star too much. In this same what if, Darth Vader trains Leia in the ways of the sith, and when the time comes, in the Throne Room, both Palpatine and Darth Vader witness the fight between Luke and Leia, the first one with his green lightsaber, and heer sister with a red lightaber. However, I have a theory of my own for what if they didn't train Anakin. I think now Palpatine would have a clear path to the child that was his plan all alon, so he would betray Darth Maul because he has no further use of him (that's with the rule of two), and Palpatine would start training Anakin as a sith from scratch, in a similar way he did with Darth Maul earlier. So the good side of Anakin that was his experience in the Jedi temple and under the tutelage of Obi Wan would not be a part of Anakin's life, as neither it would be his love for Padme, so all the good in him would simply not be there, and the result would be a merciless ans unstopable juggernaut sith.
What I love about this show is Obi-Wan point on the qualities of her mother and father. We maybe different as children to our parents, but in essence we do take on aspects of both our parents. Which for me I love. As I do see aspects of both in myself from my parents.
You're so Awesome Kim. Love your reactions. Keep up the good work!!!
I'm still wondering, when Obi calls him "Darth" and walks away, is it really Vader who shouts "Obi-Wan" in anger and hate, or is the tiny bit of Anakin in him calling for his old friend in an desperate attempt not to abandon him again.
If "ordinary people doing badass things" makes you happy, then Rogue One/Andor is gonna be your JAM! I'd go with Rogue One first, but you're going to have a blast with it whichever you choose to watch first. Love your reactions! \m/
Re-watching this episode makes me feel this series would have been a really good movie, There was a lot of good in the start, and in the ending.
Me too
Was meant to be a movie but Solo took the big hit after the sequels and bombed hard so Disney didn’t want to risk it.
Keep in mind that at no time in ANH does it say that that was the first time Obi-Wan and Vader had met since Anakin became Vader. Vader just says, "When I left you, I was but the learner" which strongly IMPLIES that that was their first meeting, but the words themselves don't actually say that. When you leave an ex, no matter how many times you may see them, there was a time when you left each other. You might meet many times after breaking up, but you left each other a few years ago or whenever.
As a kid loving these movies when they came out, I always imagined that Vader and Obi-Wan had had a few run-ins with each other over the years.
In a way, it was the twins that saved Anakin and Obi-wan from the past that kept eating them alive on the inside. Leia was the catalyst that led Obi-wan to rediscover himself, to learn to have hope and purpose again, to learn to trust again. Luke was the one who saved Anakin and gave him a chance at redemption, to make him see that it wasn't too late for him. I just think it's really beautiful.
Obi-wan's confrontation with Anakin in this episode, i think he really needed that. He's spent all this time blaming himself for Anakin's fall that it haunts him so much. For Anakin to tell him, "I am not your failure" must have been what he needed to finally let go of that, to stop wallowing in self-blame.
Well Obi Wan was at least partly responsible for Anakin’s fall. He didn’t fully believe in Anakin the way that Qui Gon did, and Anakin sensed that from the beginning. He was also too overly critical of Anakin, he never made Anakin feel that he could open up to him without judgement or condemnation. Obi Wan also just stood by and let the council break Anakin down, and he regretted that he never fought for Anakin, that he didn’t speak up for him. He only became more empathetic and understanding towards Anakin after they both became one with the force.
@@jmwilliamsart Obi-wan believed in Anakin. There was just a severe miscommunication between them. Obi-wan always acts as a mentor, treating a lot of his interactions with Anakin as a learning experience, and Anakin takes this as Obi-wan criticizing and looking down on his abilities, when in reality, Obi-wan just wants Anakin to learn and improve. He's not judging him, in his mind he's helping him grow.
A prime example of this is their practice duel in episode 5 in which Obi-wan reminds Anakin to be mindful and that his need for victory might be his undoing. You can see how Obi-wan smiles at Anakin warmly after saying this, but Anakin only sees this as critcism and judgement, while Obi-wan clearly sees this as a lesson and learning experience for Anakin.
Even in ROTS, before Obi-wan heads off for Utapau, he tells Anakin "You're strong and wise Anakin, and you have become a far greater Jedi than i could ever be." Obi-wan believes in Anakin. Their huge problem is communication tbh. They never talk to each other about how they feel.
@@wuttatota148That’s true, it’s just that Obi Wan was a little too overly critical and he didn’t listen more and try to make Anakin feel that he can tell him anything and not be judged for it. Whereas after Anakin became one with the force he told Obi Wan everything that led him down the dark path, how the loss of his mother was a turning point in his life, how he meant well but only seemed to bring a lot of harm. Anakin was sincerely remorseful, and he felt that he had been a failure.
This time Obi Wan listened to Anakin without judgement and was more empathetic towards him. He told him that he wasn’t solely responsible for all the bad that had happened throughout the galaxy, that the sufferings that he had endured since he was little played a part that led him down the dark path. While his single act of destroying Palpatine and saving Luke may not erase all of the bad things he had done it doesn’t take away from many of the countless good deeds that he had done and all the lives he had saved when he was still a Jedi.
It wasn’t just Anakin who made mistakes, so did Obi Wan, Yoda, and the Jedi as a whole (by becoming too dogmatic, rigid, too stifled by tradition, and choosing to serve corrupt politicians instead of the will of the force). And those who ran the galactic republic screwed up by allowing the republic to become too big to manage, and allowing corruption and nepotism to eat away at the republic from within. The point is that the galaxy (our world as well) is the end result of a series of actions and decisions and failings made by a lot of people not one single person.
@@jmwilliamsart That still doesn't make it Obi-wan's fault that Anakin never reached out. Obi-wan did his best with the responsibility he was given at like, 25, after his Master just died in front of him. I agree that Obi-wan probably wasn't the best choice for Anakin, but he did his best and was always patient with him. The problem is that neither of them reached out to the other. In the end, Obi-wan wanted what's best for Anakin (in his mind), but what Obi-wan provides isn't what Anakin needs.
Also, if we're blaming anyone then it's Palpatine. He's the one who manipulated everything, played Anakin AND the Jedi council. Yes, the Jedi were blind and shortsighted for falling for it, but at the end of the day, it was Palpatine pulling the strings. Why not blame him instead of one of the biggest victims of his scheme, Obi-wan? He was a victim too. He lost everything.
@@jmwilliamsart he was already empathetic here.
Wow Qui Gon actually saying to Obi-Wan "You sure got yourself in a messy situation" would've been the best moment in the series 😂😂. I really like your passion for Star Wars, for a relatively short period of time you got to know the characters very well! Impressive, most impressive!
My thoughts on the series
4/10, and that's not a low rating. If I gave it a higher score, it would be on a similar level to series I consider much better.
Let's start with the plot. Well... This episode perfectly showed that Kenobi should never have left Luke. The whole idea that Bail specifically asks Kenobi for help is just plain stupid. By agreeing to help, Kenobi exposes both Luke and Leia to danger.
Bail had access to significant resources to conduct a search. He could have hired bounty hunters, led his own investigation with the help of Alderaan's services, or even asked the Empire for assistance, which wouldn't have been unusual since the man was searching for his daughter.
So, a huge minus.
The acting is a very good aspect. Kenobi is an icon and was fantastically portrayed.
Vader, I'll say this: the scene where he kills civilians to force Kenobi to fight gave me chills and was something very cool. The actress playing young Leia also did a very nice job, and I hope to see more of her.
The weakest point is undoubtedly Reva because she is a poorly written character.
As a child, she survived being lightsaber stabbed.
She screams about Vader's identity and faces no consequences.
Despite her failure, Vader promotes her.
Then, without a real reason, she wants to kill Luke. (She didn't have 100% proof that he was Anakin's son; I would have suspected he was a new apprentice of Kenobi with the information she had.)
Additionally, she is not scary or complex to elicit sympathy from the viewer. I felt nothing for her, and she seemed more like an annoying character.
I would sum up the whole series with these words: It has its moments, but for the most part, it's wasted potential.
No
Definietly the best episode of the bunch. Reeva still doesn't make any sense, and I really wish they'd just let her die when Vader stabbed her instead of giving her whatever weird ark this was, but Obi and Vader in this is just *chefs kiss* Ewan and Hayden breaking their backs carrying the show. (Although we have to wonder why Vader didn't just send some TIE fighters after the refugees, or just follow Obi in his shuttle while the Star Destroyer kept after the Refugees.)
It did leave me wanting a season 2 with Obi and Qui-Gon being Jedi and Force Ghost buddy cops on Tatooine though.
Did you notice that the toy ship he gave him, was the same toy Luke was playing with in A New Hope. Took me a bit to notice as well.
They did a pretty good job on the music. We only hear the Force Theme after Obi Wan lets go of the past, and we only hear the Imperial March after Vader lets go of the chase. Liam Neeson said that he had a simple reason to come back. His friend, Ewan McGreggor, asked him to.
You can tell seeing him making that psychotic smile while saying "I did" after saying "You did not kill Anakin Skywalker" is just so brilliant, with the red light too when before it was blue light.
Showing how lost and gone Anakin is.
That it is only vader, only the personality of Vader left, a machine of darkness, until Luke brings Anakin back.
Anyone notice the parallels to Anakin and Leia both asking Shmi and Obi Wan of they would ever see them again? Then they both die moments after seeing each other again
This episode was all the delicious fan service I needed. Openly bawling as Obi is telling Leia about her parents, and it just didn't stop till the credits...so so good.
highly recommend watching The Mandalorian & Ahsoka, both series take place 5 years after Return of the Jedi
More of Obi Wan and Kim.💝💖💖💝
Anakin is stronger than Obi-Wan (also in the guise of Vader), he always defeated those whom Obi-Wan could not, but it was difficult for him to defeat Obi-Wan himself despite the fact that he is stronger, but Vader's feelings prevented him from fighting to the fullest The power due to the remains oflight in Anakin was held back by Vader's power
No-one knows Anakin's unorthodox fighting style and weaknesses better than Obi-Wan does. That gives him the necessary edge over Anakin/Vader, as far as I can tell.
@@staffan- lol well and Obi wan is the master of his defensive style
Don't kid yourself. Obi always kicks Anakin's ass. hahaha
@@RedLP5000SIn training, Skywalker defeated Obi-Wan in fencing and knocked out the sword, then beat him when Obi was covered by Reiko Hardin and Anakin dominated the fight on Mustafa and almost killed him several times, but Obi-Wan had a defensive form of combat on his side + he knew Anakin well As a fighter, this is also an advantage
@@RedLP5000SMoreover, Obi-Wan caught him in an unsuccessful jump and did not win in a fair open battle on a flat surface, because he did not have the strength to do so, and Anakin, with his strength, forced Obi-Wan to retreat until he decided to make a stupid jump and this killed his true potential as chosen one
I keep Vader's mask on my book shelf. It is a constant reminder, nobody is beyond redemption, and it's never too late, to be a good person.
watch the clone wars show and rebels
The Clone Wars is already rolling on Kim's Patreon, as a Patreon exclusive.
Love your reactions, hun
At the end Obi Wan finally realized the fallacy of the Jedi for taking force sensitive infants away from their families. However well meaning it may have been that approach still took away from those Jedi initiates the right to choose that life for themselves. The Jedi had also become too dogmatic, arrogant, rigid, and too stifled by traditions. They had chosen to follow the bidding of corrupt politicians rather than the will of the force. Anakin desperately needed a family, and sadly the Jedi couldn’t give him the kind of family that he needed.
I really enjoyed the series overall. The last 2 episodes really were top tier. Your commentary and editing made rewatching this that more enjoyable. Looking forward to your Rouge One reaction next. It really is an amazing movie, and its popularity sparked Andor getting made as a prequel series.
I love how anakin gives obi wan Absolution so to not blame him for everything happend to him and the voice switches were great shows again the difference between Vader and anakin, probably the last time anakin spoke do obi wan as living beings
Great great reaction as always Kim ... Your thoughts are always concise but fyn. Some dislike ehen SW does fan service but it always makes us smile. And yes watch R1 then Andor ❤❤
These last two episodes make up for all the flaws of the others. They literally could have had just one other episode of obi rescuing Leia and Vader finding out then hunting him, leading to the current episode five. Oh well
You seem so very sweet ❤I really appreciate you and enjoyed your reaction✨💫🚀Have a Nice evening❣️🌹🎼
love how they're fighting in derelict/dormant rock formation -- a natural evolution of a lava planet dont you think? representing how distant they've become and how cold their relationship is now.
Rogue One next >>>>>> it’s the best Disney Star Wars movie
I saw Star Wars in 1977, for the first time. The whole series has become like a religion to me. Seeing your reaction gives me hope for the future.
Absolutely watch Rogue One next. Yes, Andor is a prequel but I think it will mean a lot more if you've already seen Rogue One. By the way, in my extremely humble opinion, not only is Rogue One great, but Andor is one of the best Star Wars things I've watched in a long, long time. Can't wait to see your reaction to both. But yeah, Rogue One first. 🤗
amazing video and REACTION!
If their confrontation with Reva is any indication, Owen and Beru put up one hell of a fight against the Stormtroopers in A New Hope. Also, let's talk a bit about Obi-Wan's fighting style. As you've no doubt noticed throughout the prequel trilogy and this series, he is mainly on the defensive in a fight, but he also doesn't play around - from slicing Darth Maul in half, to incinerating Grievous with his own blaster, to cutting off Vader's limbs or messing up his life support system. He may be firmly a warrior of the light, but he's not someone you want to underestimate.
It's astounding to me that people insist on hating this show even with so many emotional and interesting twists and turns, showing a story that we've all wanted to see since the 70s and fulfilling a lot of what fans have wanted for so long, like more Obi-Wan vs. Vader. All because an actress that isn't just like them is playing a main character. Not liking a character is one thing, but the kind of vitriol she got was way disproportionate, usually from people who use the word "woke" alot. Woke just means "anything outside my own experience".
actually the definition of woke means radical . specifically on the left side of politics . in order for a TV show or films to survive it needs to have a balance of both left and right ideas .too much of anything is dangerous for Society . the reason why television is failing at the moment is because everything's one-sided
We have to love this episode, because it's so well done. We get to witness Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi get buried and Master Obi-Wan Kenobi break free to fight the Sith.
Obi-Wan: "I will do what I must."
* walks away *
All those deaths on Obi-Wan's hands.
It’s not like Obi-Wan killing Vader would’ve really changed that much. The Empire would still be in control, The Emperor would seek out a new apprentice, Alderaan would still be destroyed by the Death Star, etc.
The one thing that probably would’ve changed is Luke wouldn’t have become as a great Jedi without his trial against defeating his father, and probably would’ve been killed by Palpatine.
@@cmrobbins88That doesn’t justify him for letting Vader live in the first place only to allow him to kill more innocent people. If he had the opportunities to kill a dangerous threat twice, he should have taken that chance. Even if Empire was still going, he could’ve at least saved those who Vader killed after this encounter. As there are plenty of people who die in Vaders hands after this. Long story short: Allowing murder is just as bad as committing murder.
So are you going to do Rebels next?? 😁 You won’t be disappointed with the extension of Vaders story from this shows end.
Yes, definitely Rogue one🎄🚀🏁😃
Alec Guinness calls him Darth in Episode 4 so thats why he says Darth here
When Leia asks, "Will I ever see you again?" 31:49 It mirrors when Anakin asks his mother in Episode I the same question before he takes off to join the Jedi
Rogue One should be next up!
Coming soon after Kim is done with the editing😊
If you "love these two idiots" then you should watch The Clone Wars
She reacts to it on Patreon.
I watch the early versions on the tropicana tier on patreon but I like to come to the TY edit so I can see all the memes and jokes that get put in. Great work Kim.
Great reaction!!! Please do Rogue One next.
Hey Kim just asking when are you going to be watching the sequels?
Eventually
I hope you watch episode 7, 8 and 9 too. I love them all!!
If you realized, last thing Obi Wan saw, was Luke and Leia reunited❤
This is the first time I watched one of your reactions and I loved it. Subscription added. The last two episodes of OWK were top level SW. Honestly, you should stick to the release order. Rogue One next, then S01 of Andor. From there, Mando S01 and 02, then Book Of Boba Fett, Mando S03, then Ahsoka. All are connected and take place in that order, and each series has a few moments that make you feel the way you did during the Vader/Kenobi fight here in Ep 06 of OWK. FYI, Ahsoka is essentially S05 of Rebels but in live action. Thar being said, I haven't seen Rebels yet but know the general plot points and that was enough for me to follow the Ahsoka series. I'll be watching Rebels in the future. Looking forward to what's next with you!
"What would have happened if they never introduced Anakin to the Jedi ways?"
I like the thought experiment, but I prefer the question, "what if Qui-gon and Obi-wan beat Darth Maul?" I like to think that Obi-wan would have become a Jedi Knight after the fight, just like before, and then Qui-gon would have trained Anakin instead of Obi-wan. I like to think that a Jedi Master experienced at training padawans would have done things differently than a freshly promoted Knight. Count Dooku wouldn't have left the Order because Qui-gon's death was the last straw before he did so. Master Yaddle would be alive to be in the Clone Wars. Maybe Qui-gon would have kept out of the war, in protest of using clones like slave soldiers, or maybe he'd have done something else, like try to find out who created the Clone army in the first place. He definitely would have gone back to Tatooine to free Anakin's mother, maybe even brought her to Naboo, and set her up with a job. He'd know that it didn't matter that Jedi usually don't have family, Anakin needed to know his mother wasn't a slave and somewhere safe. Which means no slaughtered Tuskens. It's fun to imagine what would have happened if Sidious hadn't managed to turn Anakin.
I'm all about chronological order once you watch the original six films, so yes, Andor, Rogue One, Mandalorian season 1-2, Book of Boba Fett, Mandalorian season 3, Ahsoka, THEN the sequels. And if you want to sneak Clone Wars, Bad Batch, and Rebels in there that'd be cool. Oh, and have you watched Solo: A Star Wars Story yet?
24:40-- I think the first yell was because you're right--he didn't want Obi-Wan to walk away..But the 2nd? Pure rage...maybe even WANTING Obi-Wan to come back and kill him to end his mental pain? Hail to Kenobi--the greatest Jedi of all time..Beat Gen. Greviuos, Ventress, Maul and Vader..But it was his wisdom, counsel (And forgiveness) to Reva that makes him a true Master.29:09_Palpetine's telling Vadar, "Man, leave Ob-Wan alone, fool--he's almost killed ya twice now--next time he probably will, And I need you here--We got things to do!" Sooo nice to see him, after almost 40 years of conflict, finally find true peace.
I can also recommend that you watch the fan film ‘Vader: Shards of The Past’. It gives an insight into just how much influence Palpatine truly had over Anakin/ Vader.
The film takes place eight months after Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. Fighting between the loss of Padmé, and the new cursed life he now leads, Vader must do what must be done when a surviving Jedi Master from Order 66 has lured him to the home planet of his late wife's tomb.
Definitely Rogue One next, it is an excellent movie.
I am of the opinion that this episode's Obi-Wan vs Vader fight is easily the best light-saber fight in all of Star Wars, both from a technical standpoint and from a narrative one. This is a fight that shows actual footwork, and actual sword-fighting moves (slashes, parries, cuts, blocks) with a minimum of wasted movement (looking at you, ROTS, with Obi-Wan and Anakin standing two feet from each other and wildly spinning their blades around their bodies for what seems ages--is this a fight, or a baton-twirling competition?) and also very effectively tells the story of where these two characters are now in relation to each other, and to themselves. Great stuff, I will rewatch this fight any chance I get.
YOU‘RE INTROS ARE ALWAYS SOOO GOOD ❤🎉
So when Obi-Wan told Luke about what happened to his father, he was telling it from Darth Vader’s point of view. That he had killed Anakin Skywalker.
Vader isnt even aware of the children yet. How would killing them be justice. He did find out before the emperor told him though. Hired boba fett to find the pilot that destroyed the death star. He came back with the name Skywalker, and i truly believe he turned right then. Some conflict yes but he came around
Obi Wan here looks like Chuck Norris did in the 1990s when he was doing Walker Texas Ranger.
That's how I remember him.
Me and my dad are HUGE!!! fans of star wars for many years when we watched this we were both always like ok how are they going to top this how are they going to top that at the ending with obi-wan and qui-gon we both shot up off the couch and said HOLY SH!T IT'S HIM FINALLY it's both of Are's favorite episode
That was some amazing insight towards the end! I never made the connection how jedi are taken from their families, but Luke was allowed to grow up with his uncle and aunt.
I like that Owen and Beru's characters line up to what we see in ep IV. Owen being a farmer ass farmer who only really knows/cares about his farm. and Beru is a prepper with a secret stash of guns who ends up recognizing that Luke isn't meant to be a farmer and urges Owen to let Luke leave the nest.
Or you could say that Beru has motherly instincts that helped her protect Luke and recognize he's destined for more than moisture farming. But hey, pew-pew works too.
I feel like that was built into what I already said. @@jamesdaniels8007
23:27 Kinda...by now, Vader NEEDED to disassociate himself from "Anakin Skywalker."
He had lost EVERYTHING: his wife, supposedly his child, the Jedi, his soul...even his name just to find the power he yearned for.
To keep his sanity, Vader began thinking of his past Anakin like it was another person, someone he referred to as "the Jedi." It's why the most profound symbol of RETURN OF THE JEDI is that Luke wasn't the one who "returned," but Anakin.
Actually, Anakin became Darth Vader before he put on the suit and before the battle with Obi Wan, that is, when Obi Wan cut off his limbs, he was already Darth Vader. that's where so many emotions come from.
Obi-Wan couldn't see and reach the spark of Anakin that was left. It needed a father's love seeing his son die, that was the only thing that could bring him back.
Andor is fantastic but only season one is out so far so you'd have to wait for season 2 (it's planned as a 2 season series) to see the full prequel series before the movie. We all saw rogue one first so it's totally cool to go that route.
Glad to hear you're watching clone wars! I think you'll love it. I hope you do rebels, too.
Losing Padme was the last straw holding Anakin together. At that point he allowed Vader to full take him over, Anakins been a slave in his own body for over 20 years.
Common Ppl
How the fk did Reva survive a lightsaber to the stomach!!!?? Fkn twice
That is not Star Wars
In star wars lore you dont survive that
At all
And chronologically the story is messed up with Leah meeting Obi Wan.
Horrible writing
Plus this is not Marvel
You dont just fling shite all over the place like that when you have the force. Yoda barely could move a large object to save Anakin and Obi Wan in episode 2
And he was weak and almost fainted after that.
Nothing wrong with the cast or anybodys gender or race in this series . Star Wars fans never cared about that and Star wars has always inherently been diverse.
The writing is just shite
Its too bad because there are cool things sprinkled in
An enjoyable (and emotional ride ) for you to the conclusion of this miniseries... and it was a treat to watch your reactions throughout! As you continue onward into this Galaxy far far away, it is definitely recommended that you take on ANDOR, before ROGUE ONE! Despite their release orders, the Chronology is better served and will keep you from spoilers in the Story and character's fates by viewing them this way. For the storytelling experience, you will be better served watching them according to how the history unfolds rather than when they were produced and released to the public!
And definitely, please watch these before the Sequel Movie Trilogy.... everyone has their opinions about the Sequels (THE FORCE AWAKENS is my personal favorite of that trilogy), and I look forward to the future, where you render your own judgments after viewing them for yourself, but we are all here for the ride and seeing you get there at your own pace milady.
Until then... May The Force Be With You, Always! 🙏🥹
Reva is an oaf. To call her half-witted would be generous. If she were hot I’d even call her a ditz (but she’s not hot). All her moves, her thoughts, her schemes, just smack of poor writing.
And to top it off, bad acting. The actress who portrays her plays her with zero subtlety, nuance, or heart. She just screeches, shrieks, and fumes.
Every scene with Reva is a waste of time, when we could be seeing Ben Kebobi and Darth Vader.
I love this stuff and the fake and wishy washy Star Wars fans never sway me. Their opinions are toxic and delusional. This was an absolutely gorgeous episode and one for the true fans of the saga
So there are theories on if Qui Gon was the one who trained Anakin and only him. Most believe that he would have provided more structure and guidance than Obi. That Obi really wasn't ready yet to train as he was still young... And maybe with an older figure Anakin would have stayed the path
😢same way obi wan couldn't interfere with Luke confronting Vader in empire strikes back..no way Quigon could speak 2 obi as he confronted Vader..it's the force..whoever wins is supposed to win by will of the force
The are quite a lot of 'alternate scenario' stories on youtube such as If Qui Gon had survived the duel with Maul and trained Anakin....or If Mace Windu had trained Anakin....or if Anakin returned back to the light during the battle on Mustafar....the list goes on
You can see a tear in Vader, Anakin is still there but it hurts too much for him. He sees no reason to come back, too much pain, shame.... Vader never can defeat Obi-wan because he is always in conflict because he loves him, but he hate too.
If qui gon lived, I doubt Anakin would have ever turned. I can see him being supportive of deceptive marriage. Then again, if Anakin came clean during the conversation with Yoda, it might have been solved right then.
32:25 Now Obi-wan can see how Anakin burned and empties with him and stop being strict in Council ways 🙂😎👍
Qui gon, being your favourite jedi is interesting, his master was dooku, they both seen flaws in the Jedi,
Great reaction again.I love your real Emotions and your whimsical sense of humor. I love you Kim kenobi. Always remember there is always hope. Stay focused and true to yourself. MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU. MUCH LOVE.❤❤❤
The last time Owen and Beru saw someone carrying someone else in the desert was when Anakin was carrying shmi, they we’re probably scared that it happened again
Run Luke Run!
Here is one to go down the rabbit hole that thing in the bag is a ship you see this ship in the first movie when Luke is giving C3PO a bath he was playing with that ship
Yeah too old, Anakin was too old, and another skywalker, yoda didnt think that would be a good idea. He knew even back then.
I Loved the fact that Obi Wan was able to see Qui Gon in the Desert. It completed the mission that Yoda had given Obi Wan to learn from his old master about becoming a Force Ghost that Obi Wan would use in Episode IV .
Hi g🌹🌹
How are you doing?
I still say BS!!!! Obi was never that powerful!!! But its his show so he has to win.
Yesssss the Obi Wan series was a very satisfying growth from the shattered man he was after the events of the revenge of the jedi!
Great and fun reaction!
Yes, Rogue Ine. ANDOR is fine but it's sloooowwww.
It is pretty dumb that Vader lost again and hasn't been killed again
No, that fight between makes complete sense. Obi-Wan went to kill Anakin, prevailed over him, but realized he was already dead and couldn't bring himself to do it. By besting him, he got closure, and both of them decided to let the past be the past and to move on.
@@Tuleinaarii And I wonder how many more people Vader went on to kill after that.
@@Tuleinaarii in episode 3 he wanted to destroy the sith, left Anakin to burn alive, in the series he saw that Vader was a monster, he confirmed that Anakin was already dead and there is only evil and cruel Vader left, who will continue to terrorize and kill A LOT of people and he didnt destroy this obvious threat) it DOESNT make any sense, he just let the evil to survive and continue to do its evil stuff
I'm not saying I agree with Obi-Wan's choice, I'm just saying that's the reasoning for it.@@fraisertinko
@@Tuleinaarii what reason? Can you explain your logic?) Obi Wan sees, that Anakin really is dead, there is only twister and horrible Vader, who kills innocent people without any compassion and who will kill A LOT of innocent people, Obi Wan defeats this monster and decides that it is not his business and allows this great to exist?) That doesn't make any sense)
Why did they have to break me with "I will do what I must" and "you will die"? 😭😭
That would've been amazing if Vader said "it's Obi-Wan, I have the high ground".
Chills, hearing the Anakin quotes from the past.
"Power underneath...his movements" hmmmm. 🤨🤨
I liked how Obi-Wan used the same behind the back spin that Anakin did.
Why did they have to further break me with their conversation at the end? Seeing Obi-Wan get sad like that, I can't stand it. 😭😭
Obi-Wan was taken from his parents? I must've misunderstood.
Obi-Wan left his cave to live on the high ground. Him becoming his normal self again was further confirmed by Hello There. 😂😂
Qui-Gon!! 🥲
The sad part is, that was Leia's last time really seeing Obi. Luke sees him again, but Leia never saw him again until his death.
The really sad part is that Leia was mourning her entire planet at the same time.
