Lucky devils who saw this performance. I hate to think how cheap a ticket was for a 1970 Guess Who/Chicago double bill in New York. Probably under five bucks. I saw a ticket stub for a spring ‘69 triple bill of headliner Frank Zappa, The Guess Who and opener Alice Cooper at Vancouver’s PNE Agrodome with a $3.50 Canadian price. Those were the days for bargain events...we just didn’t know it at the time. As for this version of No Time: Probably one of the first Big Apple shows given by the new post-Randy Bachman version of the group. Sounds like lead guitarist Kurt Winter invested in one of the same Winnipeg-made Herzog devices that beefed up Bachman’s original studio sound. Some neat interplay between Kurt and co-guitarist Greg Leskiw. Almost sounds as if Burton Cummings also strummed rhythm guitar as he did over the decades in various band reunions. Finally, there’s more of a dominant middle voice in this No Time’s harmonies. Without a video, I can only speculate that’s because of Leskiw’s quirky (but in a good way) blues-tinged voice. He only lasted about two years with The Guess Who but made some great subsequent music with Mood Jga Jga and Kilowatt.

Looks like a great bill
That totally doesn't sound like the lead playing that Kurt winter did later on...interesting.
