    Good video. What I like about this firestarter is the set screw feature that allows me to change out my magnesium or ferro rod without needing any glues.

    I used to make my own version of those when I could get the materials...especially the magnesium. I'm glad someone's made one!

      You can still buy high-purity magnesium.

    Thirty years ago while camping on snow used magnesium fire starter to get a freshly chopped green tree to burn. Intense heat dried out the wood as it burned.

    I have one similar to this, but the handle on yours has more.

      The handle can even be scraped to start a fire

    OOOO steel wool will pick up a spark from flint and steel, plus steel wool never goes off like charcloth or other char.
    I like the concept but there are far cheaper and better ferro rod/mag bar combos on the market (that you can put together yourself)
