That’s perfect for teaching someone how to use a ferro rod! Great gift for the beginner bushcrafter! Thanks, Dan!
Thank you!
That bad boy should last a long while. Like it! 👍
I was surprised how much I enjoyed using it. I still have one or two of the old Doan military ones, the little square block, and I never liked those.
I have that same Fire Starters but have not used it yet. And I like it and bought it because of the three components. Thanks for sharing.
I think you will like using it. Definitely comfortable in the hand.
Very smart thanks
Thank you!
interesting idea. I guess it would depend on which one wears out the fastest would determine how large each should be....ferro rod and magnesium rod.
It's definitely enjoyable to use.
For this purpose I run a 1/2x6" ferro rod and a 6" Chuck of fat wood.
But this is about the same size. And the magnesium shavings are essentially a replacement or equivalent of fat wood.
Very viable🙂
Bought something similar, but smaller some three years ago (magnesium 80xØ10mm, ferrorod 60xØ4mm-w/o handle) - nice backup for my trusty BIC-lighters. Apart from the initial test still unused.
You know the magnesium is good when it shaves curls instead of dust.
I would buy that one but the ferro needs to be bigger and Thicker because it's a small Ferro rod there thinking that Magnum will run out before and first and mybe it will..but I am Not going spend any money on a small Ferro Rod...they could of Put a Bigger Ferro Rod on it and would of cost around the same amount of money...and give us a Great Ferro Rod and Magnesinm rod....hopefully I will never need it in a Emergency but I would like to have a Bigger Ferro rod in any case and so would many others..I mybe would take this as a Back up mybe....to tell you the Truth I will just spend 25$ on a 6inc FerroRod
Is a fatwood handle available?
From the website:
"The Combustible handle is a brilliant idea, it allows you to scrape the shavings off the handle and use as your ignitable material to start a fire."
There is pine, but no resin in it.
If you don't name her Big Bertha, I will unsubscribe. 😂🤣 just kidding brother. That's awesome.
Would you settle for BIG BETTY LOU, LOL!!!😂😂😂
