I really enjoy watching Hoover. He is deadly accurate when he stays in his pocket. He isn’t great when he starts pressing and scrambling around. His best days are still ahead. Hopefully, the rest of the team will set him up for success.
If Hoover had a running game and a defense that wouldn’t give up 500+ yards in 2 games, he wouldn’t have to play w so much urgency to make things happen. The opposing defenses know we are one dimensional and the opposing offenses know we can’t stop the run. I hope this gets figured out but until then, unfortunately, Hoover is going to be put in undesirable situations. He’s a good QB. We have great receivers. We need to win up front. My 2 cents
Hoover's issue seems to be his confidence. Especially when he is under pressure. But it's hard to play perfectly when the entire offense consistently gets put on your shoulders because of the lack of run game. Look at the Houston game They were getting home with 3 rushers. The offensive line hasn't looked great in any situation. So I give Hoover the benefit of the doubt.
Josh is a pocket passer. Who happens to throw a lot of slant or crossing patterns. Mostly in my opinion timing patterns. My Question is What happened to the Hurry Up Offense 😂. Wasn't that Briles thing?😂 Briles is only good when he has a version of a RG3!!! or KJ Jefferson 😊. Prove me wrong?
Hoover is a 7 win QB under good circumstances. He has a nice strong arm and very good accuracy when facing medium to low pressure. On the downside Hoover is quite slow in the 4.8 40 yd range. He has ok side to side movement, but can’t really extend plays and is -0- threat to run in RPO situations. In addition, when facing pressure, Hoover panics by forcing throws into coverage and sailing them high. I doubt Hoover stays at TCU, but if he does, he won’t be the starting QB. Hoover’s lack of speed and ability to run RPO & extend plays, plus his bad decisions under pressure are highly limiting to this offense.

I still believe in this TCU Football team and QB Hoover
I believe in Hoover😎
We need more short passes to Bech I think he has the ability to break tackles and gain first downs

I've been yelling at my TV for him to run more to keep the defense honest.
