The singer Arya Ambekar and I live in the same building. She was one of the finalists of an iconic season of a marathi singing show when she was really young and became a household name in Maharashtra. After that she sang various songs for films as well as starred in a film as well. Proud to see you all get introduced and impressed by her!!❤

this is one of my favorite song... that is aarya Ambekar one of the best marathi singers and outstanding expressions by amruta khanvilkar and adinath kothare..
The notes that you appreciate Rick, not just in this song, but many Indian songs, are called ‘Komal Swaras’ (kind of like sharp notes) and are characteristic of certain ragas. It points to the fact that you are a lover of the pensive category of ragas. It is very very Indian classical and my favourite category of ragas as well. These ragas are usually more advanced and harder to sing, but so very emotionally rich and deep.
I think translation for komal swars will be minor notes. I might be wrong but this is what I think

Rick almost didnt watch the video atall. He's much interested in audio when it comes to Marathi songs, though he does have deep appreciation of its music n vocals . I thank them both and I like their reaction. Although for me the video was also very fascinating, those fine expressions can be understood by all Indians I'm sure!

Look up Ajay-Atul to see who these two composers are. The actor is Amruta Khanvilkar..she was in Natrang, the first Marathi movie that you reacted to which has Atul Kulkarni. And she was also the one who played Alia's sister-in-law in Raazi.
Maharashtrians have a beautiful sense of music - both in creating music and in singing. As seen in the Mangeshkar sisters. Do check out their brother - Hrudayanath Mangeshkar's compositions - done for both Marathi cinema n outside it.
This form of artistry is called a 'lavani' and it has been part of Maharashtrian folk culture since ages. Usually the performances are for a full audience and its usually a full house of men coming to watch these ladies perform .but this being a solo audience and might i add - a 'special' one, it is she alone who is called for by him to perform for him n hence a very sensuous number...wish you had subtitles on this one - it (her words) describes the effect he has had on her (she is in love with him)..and has been very, very poetically put.
