You do realize Western Europeans have a thousand years of great and world-changing composers as representatives of their classical music, right? Music that has lasted centuries(because Westerners actually learnt to write music down), been adored across the world, and regularly hailed as the pinnacle of human musical genius. From your comment you'd think Westernern music barely progressed beyond beating an animal skin drum whilst dancing around a fire.

@@ShivamSingh-qz3kh Yet Western classical music achieved far more and advanced in less than half the time. Meanwhile, Indian classical music stayed pretty much the same. Extraordinary to me, normal to you.
Indian classical music, whilst very pretty and sensuous, is basically just ceremonial music with a fancy title. The same old slow and atmospheric first section, followed by the same old faster second section. A-B format. Every. Time. The same cookie-cutter ragas, the same cookie-cutter talas, and the same old aimless and ludicrously drawn out and ostentatious improvisations. By my measure, that doesn't make it 'classical music', it makes it a, 'jamming session', like what teenagers do at school.
