Thank you! you covered so many tips for beginners. I sew professional ballet tutus and I am going to use yarn couching on a bodice for a Coppelia variation (a doll that comes to life, very fun and whimsical) and thought this technique would embrace that bit of whimsy:)
Just want to say....HQ has the by far the most demos and tutorials for cutomers and hopeful owners. Other comapanies need to take a hint from HQ and thsoe numerous groups that have no access to their online groups need to stop being so persnickity about who can see their comments. Sure they may be doing a little free advertising for the machine companies but sharing what they have learned can be great for their self confidence too.
Absolutely beautiful. This is new for me and would like to purchase the sets. How is it called, and where did you buy it, if Not too imposing. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge in the video. Waiting for your response.
Hi Karen, all you should see is your bobbin thread from the back. The yarn doesn't go to the back, it is just pierced by the needle and sits on top of the work. Hugs Paula
Go to helengodden.com and you can do an online couching class with me and your machine, domestic or Handi Quilter. You just need a couching foot specific to your machine and grab a ball of yarn or 2 or 3 or 4. www.helengodden.com in the shopping section for Online Classes. Cheers
+Elspeth Manning Handi quilter sells them. They cost about $120 for 3 different size couching feet (comes in a set) allowing you to use just about any thickness wool/ yarn. Makes amazing 3D textures on your quilts. Great fun and Looks amazing.
