Exactly. Pretty amazing since these songs are from Dave Lombardo's era, and he nailed them. :) Probably Ill Will if this cover is recent : facebook.com/WillDorseyjr/ Breathtaking job on some the fastest drum beats ever composed.
Spot on drumming, esp the double bass! Awesome to see Body Count still at it, been a fan since their first album in 92...It was released spring of my senior year in highschool...good memories from way back in the day
I generally have to agree. He's a good drummer! But in the original version Dave Lombardo plays double time on the ride after the first break. You can hear and see, that BCs drummer doesn't do it. Besides this, his drums seem to be heavily triggered. Think about it. To compare, watch some life scenes from Lombardo playing this. Older or newer, it doesn't matter much. I'm a big Lombardo fan, you might have noticed ;). Give a try to his others bands. In first Grip Inc. Hands up for both: Slayer and Body Count!
why would you even want to sound like the original?? Then you can just listen to the original verision, what makes a cover interesting and good is how you take a song and make it your own, not playing exactly like the original version is

RATM, Anthrax and Run DMC, Aerosmith and Run DMC, Ill Nino to name a few bands
They pretty much cant hahaha go and tell lil pump or some shit to compose a song and se what Will come out
@@krispynachos9980 uh what about Archspire?
Malc Marcisz I don't think any body says it , but I say they should do it more.
I have been listening to Body Count since I was in high school 1992 these guys are getting better everytime
Black man playing metal as a black man I knew I was right, wow! Metal is for everyone
Absolutely everyone! And as far as playing metal goes, I don't know about that, more like nailing it! One of the few covers truly respected by true Slayer fans and trust me that's an honor!
brotha..music shouldn't have color barriers..cheers!!!!
See Also: Bad Brains, one of the founders of hardcore punk, but I Against I & other material of theirs is great metal.
Oh yeah.. but Bad Brains also has songs that are homophobic & anti-black incel rants (Redbone in the City), & committed hate crimes against Biscuit Turner (Big Boys), so. It was 40 ya, and sacred cows are sacred cows, but they haven't been one since before Nazis came back in style. The skinhead didn't fall far from the tree, really. :D
Cheers Ken! Of course is for everyone! As I am a white metalhead, I am fully aware of the contribution the black guys gave to metal music, mostly through jazz and blues. Fuck the racism! We are all the same!
We stagedived together back in '96 in Chemnitz, Kraftwerk!
Glad you are still with me and all the mates around the world! ✊🏻🇩🇪🕊
Ice-T… props for nailing the genre AND doing your friend a solid. Respect.
Best BC album in a long time!!
*of all time
Not of all time. The debut is the best. But this one is tied in second with Manslaughter
+poisongodmachine3 I agree self titled was the best but after such a long hiatus there new shit was surprisingly fuming awesome. Body Counts in the house.
Eddie The Head TEHEEEEEEEEEE
Abbath!
If they don't play this song at my funeral, I refuse to die!
😆🤣get back in the grave!!!!!!
Yeah fuck yeah 🤟
A man who loves all genres and expresses himself much respect
This cover is TIGHT!
Sea cucumber TIGHT TIGHT TIGHT! That you Tuco?
when your brain is hip-hop and your heart is metalhead then you have one hell of a perfect talent!
That's why the Judgment Night is the best soundtrack ever!
There must be zillions of covers for this tune, but this one definitely stands out. Great work Body Count.
1st time listening to Ice T but a Slayer fan since the 80s. Awesome job and I am truly impressed with Ice T and I know for a fact that this drummer is beating the f'n hell out of those drums!!!
VICIOUS!!! One of my favorite cover versions of all time!! The rage is PALPABLE!! This is what I need right now! True Love is not the Princess Bride, it's Ice-MFing-T starting a metal band for his guitar-playing friend. Love Ernie-C!!
This is what made me realize how amazing Ice-T and his whole set of friends actually are. I thought Ice-T was just another rapper who branched out. No: he's a guy that actually cares about his friends and can make some seriously good music with them in a genre he's not not known for and in a seriously well made way. This is a case where I'm glad to be proven wrong.
Why are metal covers just always oozing with love and respect
Badass cover much love to ice t for covering a thrash classic by slayer spot on !
I Saw "in loco" at september from 1994 in Rio de Janeiro, in Imperator(House) Crossover at final show Slayer. Ice-T and this Body Count player together "Raining Blood"... was a magic night guys... unforgetble
Thats awesome.
When i was young, rap was my music, later i turned to Metal, Thrash and Death metal, but still like rap and respect it! this is really cool! respect to Body Count!!!
OscarWithC same here. I didn't get into metal til after I graduated high school. The way I see it, metal today is what hip hop used to be...HARD!!
OscarWithC that's very cool. Enjoy anything and everything. Good for you
OscarWithC You aren't the only one. The only genres with the most lyrically non-mainstream creative artists and badassery.
OscarWithC same with me. I loved rap pop and stuff like that and I turned to metal especially to Metallica. But I still love rap
James Hammett Yeah Metallica was the band that got me into the heavy stuff before that it was Linkin Park, now its Kreator, Dismember and Municipal Waste just to name a few with different Metal styles :)
Ice T is the only rapper who can get away with covering Raining Blood
*reign in blood yo
@@JasonGillman1983 the song is called "Raining Blood". The ALBUM is "Reign in Blood".
He's not a rapper he's a Musician. He does more than just rap. The mans an Auteur!
As a fan of ice-t since i can remember,he still has it in him....god bless this men of excellent talent and show the world how its done.
Ice-T is the man. He gets much respect from the metal community. Hail from Greece 🤘✊
one of my fathers!!!!!!! since judgement night
Great drumming and awesome solo.
This cover is amazing. Great respect to Ice T and his musicians.
Ice T is legit!!! Didn’t know this fool likes these bands too!!!
Wow ! I had no idea Ice-T could do this...or that he is even into slayer 😳. My mind is blown ! Props ! Great job guys.
He once did a song with Slayer. It´s on the "Judgement Night" OST
@@NickNobody161 This album is incredible
Oh yes. He sampled sabbath and zep songs too
Listened to bodycount in the 90s
The drummer is fucking solid.
dude if u have word for mega solid! that's what he was!! MEGA SOLID!
I'm impressed with the drummer he sounds just like Dave Lombardo he nailed it.
Don Way Films he fuckin kills it!! 🤘
Don Way Films exactly. Drummer...hell everyone has my respect
No doubt. The guitars aren't bad either. The worst part was the vocals but he did a way better job than I could of.
How can this have 2k thumbs down? That was true to form & very well done.
Likely people who don't like metal seeing a rap artist singing a metal song, which I absolutely love btw
There s just people out who wouldn't see good or better if their eyes were poked with it
I was wondering the same thing. Probably the same idiots that vote for Trump.
Throw em into a pit and let the 79K thumbs up/ fists knock some sense into them.. R.I.P. Jeff
@Hater Sensei Grand Master Chosen One not these days he dont. Trump is a useless pos, and he has proved it over n over.
The more I listen to this, and I do, the more I am struck by how truly they covered this song.
This is a proper homage to inspiration.
As a long time slayer fan I must admit and applaud that these covers are solid!
Can we call him Metal-T
Right
No
Ben detto!
🤣🤣🤣😆
@Serial Killa *we could make a religion* - no don’t
This was way better than I expected. I figured the instruments would sound good but I never guessed that Ice-T would be able to sound as metal as that. Obviously he isn't Araya, but it was really good.
the dudes been doing this for decades now
Araya can't sing
Ice-T started the band Body Count in 1989. So yeah - he has done this for quite a while.
dario HC IMO Tom's heart hasn't been in metal for a while now. he's earned the right to do what he wants at this point in life, don't get me wrong, but this performance is BETTER than what Tom is capable of nowadays.
I truly hope that in the future, when we look back at great metal bands we never forget Body Count
One of the better covers of this song i have heard. And there are a few out there.
There tight as fuck who is this drummer man he hits hard there all on point
Exactly. Pretty amazing since these songs are from Dave Lombardo's era, and he nailed them. :)
Probably Ill Will if this cover is recent : facebook.com/WillDorseyjr/
Breathtaking job on some the fastest drum beats ever composed.
I also noticed that the drums were perfect. :)
Spot on drumming, esp the double bass! Awesome to see Body Count still at it, been a fan since their first album in 92...It was released spring of my senior year in highschool...good memories from way back in the day
The drummer is 'Ill Will' (Will Dorsey Jr)
I generally have to agree. He's a good drummer! But in the original version Dave Lombardo plays double time on the ride after the first break. You can hear and see, that BCs drummer doesn't do it. Besides this, his drums seem to be heavily triggered. Think about it. To compare, watch some life scenes from Lombardo playing this. Older or newer, it doesn't matter much.
I'm a big Lombardo fan, you might have noticed ;). Give a try to his others bands. In first Grip Inc. Hands up for both: Slayer and Body Count!
BIG slayer fan here...I LOVE IT!!! been since the 80's
Mike Boxler hell yes! this is just beyond awesome!!! slayer would be in awe
Amazed at how brilliant ices voice is for this song. Never saw this one coming!!
Best cover I've ever heard! Body Count Rules!
quite possibly the best cover of this song ever. No one has even come close to sounding like Tom like this ever (not to mention Dave too).
This one is very nice indeed. But if you're into heavier metal try : Vader - Raining Blood
Lane Meyer listen to their cover of You Can't Bring Me Down from Suicidal, it's killer and Ice is hilarious in the video...
I can sound like tom...Not that hard...Just gotta figure out how tense do you need to make your voice
you are sniffin glue or taking the piss fella
why would you even want to sound like the original?? Then you can just listen to the original verision, what makes a cover interesting and good is how you take a song and make it your own, not playing exactly like the original version is
The band sounds fantastic! The drum sound was excellent!
Now that he mentions it, I can definitely hear the different bands and their influences!
Thanks, Guys, for some great music!
