The game really does not explain the grab tech system well at all. I was following the in game command for several days and only today found out it’s way more complicated than you think but they don’t tell you about the arm thing in the tutorials
Yeah and some characters don't even follow the same rules like King, who has several of the same grab animations but requires completely different tech inputs resulting in a pure 50/50 if you get grabbed by one of them.
You do know you have to let your controller go to do that. Most people don't use neutral block and the game tells you about using both back and down back to block
