the writing of the narration is really something. Always an ample amount of alliteration. Top work as always Guru!
Alliteration are always amusing
This car needs a ciggarette after this..
u too
Why? So it can look like trash again?
@@louisbarningham joke mate
I’d happily watch a video of the Guru reading the phone book
Haha!
Great result. That was more therapeutic than a week in the Bahamas lol :-)
Andrew K. NI doubtful I’d rather be in the Bahamas idk what your thinking you cocain head

Imagine watching this guy cleaning cars next to you on the beach in The Bahamas
Petter Nybråten but with headphones on his commentary with a warm beer..... this is the best car cleaning channel on RUclips.
This is my personal ASMR therapy
Every time you speak I calm down just a little bit more
type-dRew I could actually fall asleep to his voice
Asmr guru
I wonder what accent is it.
Lying in bed bored and this pops up, thankyou Guru!!
Same here!
Same here!
samsung product 😂😂 what a guy
Sir Conan Doyle asked me to tell you that you should not waste time.
Mate, same here. 😂
For some reason things like this upset me. Just because it's an older car doesn't mean it doesn't deserve the same love as a new car. My car is from 2004 and gets spoiled the same as a Lamborghini. I appreciate you taking time to work on this tired friend and giving it a chance.
If it was still mine it would be spotless. I have nothing against older cars and in an ideal world would have both!
same. i baby my mazda 6 2004.
+Matt Campbell I agree mate. My V40 is also a 2004 1.9D, just a normal Sport model. True, she's a bit tatty, peeling lacquer on the roof, odd rust spot here and there, but despite the high mileage, she does still look nice when she's cleaned, especially the Refurbed 16" Galactica wheels.
Definitely agree that older cars deserve respect and TLC despite their age. Would love to get her fully cleaned up
I prefer older cars, modern cars are getting far too computerised and complex to fix
Matt Campbell what’s the point of detailed cleaning the car. It must get you from point A to B and be clean inside to give you a nice comfort during your journey, because you spend 99% or the time inside not outside. Cleaning outside of the car is for jealous neighbours. Basic rinse with soapy water is totally enough, just to keep windshield without major scratches.
Why dafaq do I keep watching videos of a guy cleaning a car?
Weightloss and Bodybuilding because it’s relaxing and satisfying. I’m doing the same mate. Lol
He's like the Bob Ross of car cleaning. Great voiceover and in depth knowledge while also having some ASMR elements
KennyTheKid Amén. I said that he reminded me of Bob Ross on another video.
Weightloss and Bodybuilding. I came here from ear wax removal videos
Idk man thats the same for me
A clean car in the middle of winter always looks good.
Good comment!
It’s kind of pointless cleaning a car in the winter months, I know you should remove salt from the bodywork though
I love that this is “half-arsed” 😂 10x the clean my car has ever had!
It's funny, when I first saw your videos I got annoyed at the somewhat uncut footage of you incessantly cleaning every nook and cranny in great detail.
Thinking to myself how you could have cut the footage down and in turn made a much shorter and perhaps more effective video...
But then it dawned upon me that I was possibly missing the point.
The slow pace, precision, graceful care and the great scrutiny -its all intentional.
At first glance all I saw was a simple step by step or how to video, but as I started reading between the lines I witnessed the greater picture;
A man sharing his hobby and his proficient knowledge of it - the composure in his flawless execution attests the not only to his skill, but also to the joy he draws from it.
Like someone painting a picture, building a model or perhaps making an ice sculpture with a chainsaw -although there is knowledge to be gained, we aren't necessarily supposed to learn from it. What we should do is pull up a chair, enjoy the spectacle and marvel at the end result.
I don't even have a car nor am I very fond of cleaning, but these videos brings me serenity and equilibrium.
Thank you for sharing!
What a great comment.
Beautifully said !
In German there's a saying for that: "Der Weg ist das Ziel", literal translation, "The route is the goal".
Spot on.

In English it’s something like: it’s the trip, not the destination.
A practical example of a detail that many people can perform.
Nice to have you back. 👍
Used a couple of SOft BRIssel BRUshes, god bless his articulation and annunciation, better then asmr tbh
an oldie but still a goldie !!! never clicked so fast .
my dad has a 2003 V40 like this. 2 litre, no turbo. a bit less common than the 1.8 litre you usually see. 80K miles, Sport Ed. Navigator (Except for rear child locks, it has all the options) and even now, it's still an amazing car. Comfortable, reliable and cheap to run.
One of my best RUclipsrs ever! excellent videos and so relaxing and very therapeutic I use tips and tricks from yourself to make my car cleaning experience more thorough. Be great to see more vids more often 👌🏽 happy new year buddy
I like seeing 'real' cars get cleaned up. Watching some of the show cars get detailed always cracks me up. Thank you for sharing!
Props on being the only car detailer on RUclips whose voice-overs I don't find to be annoying.
I like that your vids are real time, none of this sped up stuff with music over the top.
Hi from Puerto Rico! I really enjoy car detailing channels especially car washing! It really calms me down! Also his tone of voice and accent really amps up the effect! HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS!
I just this week bought one of these, a 2003 V40 with a 2.0l petrol engine, 5 speed manual and I realy love the car. drives great
These V40's with the arcadia alloys get a bit of love from me, having owned one for a long time a few years back.
Seeing yours get a bit of TLC makes me happy.
Thanks for sharing it with us this last time! It might be an old lump but it's one of the prettier ones.
I really love your choice of words and fantastic camera angles to make every one of your videos clean and entertaining. 👍👌

My 21 year old Buick Lesabre from 2002 wasn't rusted at all when it got totaled by an old lady in 2023. I still miss it, it was my baby 😢
Great job cleaning this car🎉
Brilliant video showing how majority of people clean their cars, ie, using one bucket. Great stuff! The old girl came up good!
As a swede i’m glad you take care of your Volvo🇸🇪😄
Liar! You are from China.
A George A chinese company own Volvo but it’s still swedish quality
Great video
The spray used after the contact wash definitely helped bring out the shine of that 20y/o paint. Probably the best looking 20y/o paint on the road.
V40 is the best car ever. For the price its just really cool. I have mine as a first car with 2.0 136 benzine and it feels great to drive it. Its cost around 1500 euro.
I love mine too! Passion red w/ black trim. The seats are lush leather and amazingly comfy, especially on long drives. For a wagon, especially a Volvo, it's all sexy curves. And anyone that's ever driven it, or ridden with me, has been totally surprised at how quick it is. I love the sound of the happy little turbo spooling. Mine has 200,000 miles and it just seems to get faster with age! Sadly it's only fault is rust.
Makes you feel great to sit back and look at your work and how you bring things back to life, great job sir
"Hashtag hard as nails" 😂😂😂. Brilliant banter Guru.
lmao
Welmade video: no scenes out of focus, sound was fine balanced, no screeeeeming music... lovely - and a great result on the V40 - Happy New year to you too.
Had almost forgotten about this great channel! Nice to see that you're still cleaning and posting videos for us to enjoy!
God bless the Volvo estate. It broke my heart to see her in that state. My 1995 960 is still going strong and spoilt every chance I get.
I was wondering what happened to CCG. Glad to see you back on form! I even cleaned my own 3 series and wife's golf, by hand. First time in a year or two since we got a Polish hand wash in town.
My dad had a similar black S40 T4 15 years ago, it was such a joy to ride in, a timeless design really.
Yeh the top S40’s still look cool.
I do love an old V40! Brilliant video as always :)
My step father had one almost exactly like this from new until it fell apart (LITERALLY, in some places ) 10 years later. And these cars are well put together so you can imagine the level of neglect the poor thing had to go trough, LOL.
I just spend 5 minutes watching him clean one wheel and wanted more
I want this guy to detail my car and watch as he produces the video. So calming and relaxzzzzzzzzzing. Cheers Guru
OMG this man needs to be doing audible books his voice is amazing and so calming.
Who cares about Brexit, when the Guru has done another vid.
I dont watch him for car cleaning, i watch him for meditation, as his voice is so calming
This voice, intonation and alliteration of words put me into a 24-hour sleep
Another top video in your well-descriptive style! I salute you sir!
The v40 and s40 used market is sad here in the USA. The ones you find for sale either need a motor or need a head gasket. Can’t find a good one anywhere. Amazing yours still works!
Guru just picked up a 1.9 diesel on of these, it's the same as yours looks wise. 150k miles but been very well serviced it's a great workhorse
More old cars! I love it. Just mix it up with sportscars, old cars, odd cars etc =)
Totally agree, more older cars.
The present cars are very boring, because everybody has one at home :-)
WalStrid more Older bmws
This guy is the Bob Ross of detailing, and I mean that as a compliment!
These videos are just mega satisfying to watch and teaches you a lot! Also a lot of time and thought clearly goes into the narration aspect because you don't half twist your tongue. Great work again Guru!
I love this old v40 , i loved the first video you did with it . If i lived closer id take off your parents hands lol , as my trusty old vectra is also nearing its sell by date on an 02 plate . And she needs a good detail .
Its always good when you see old skool cars being detailed , i miss the cars of the 80's , 90's and early 00's . Apart from the new mondeo , i think most cars are looking bloody awful. I love cars with curvs and soft straight lines . Keep up the good work me fellow mersy skally . 🤘😎
I really like the look of the late 90's vehicles. Something quite ugly yet handsome about them, I can't put finger on it.
I used to own a Vectra too! Had a love-hate relationship with it though :')
I sure needed this. Thanks mate! The old girl looks much better.
Always like seeing an old workhorse receiving some well deserved TLC. Another great video, Guru!
Love Volvo. Have a s40 in the same year. Your v40 looks great and cleans up smart. Great video mate.
Great video Guru, the environment, the voice, everything suits up! Cheers
The old girl still looks good, this and the V50 still hold up well in looks even if they don't anywhere else. Shame about the rust but the result was ace.
This was a real detail on a real car, your one of the best🇺🇸👍😎
Had a few people tell me the best way to remove snow foam from a car is to work bottom to top? That way, you're actively working it out across all the surface, when doing it top to bottom, the water is running down the car, dragging the foam and any dirt/grit etc along the paint, before you get to it. It also allows you to see exactly where you've been, and need to go with the power washer. One who said this is a detailer on here with quite a few subscribers. Not sure what to follow these days lol. Love the vids man 👍
With the bottom areas generally being the dirtiest I think ideally you should foam them first and rise them last to give maximum dwell time. I know some prefer to rinse bottom to top for whatever reason but I'm not convinced. If you rinse bottom, top, then bottom again then fine but rinsing bottom to top only just means you pull the dirt from the top back over the freshly rinsed lower parts that have no foam or lubricity on them, whereas rinsing top first means the dirty residue you remove at least hits more thick foam underneath instead of bare paintwork. Still, in the grand scheme of things I don't think it makes any difference and what really matters is that the car has ample time to soak and is properly and methodically pre-rinsed before contact is made.
@@CarCleaningGuru oh of course mate, rinse off after bottom to top. Still, I guess it can't possibly make much difference, some of these snow foams are cracking pre washes aren't they, bilt hamber have a good one. Anyways, I enjoy the vids, look forward to the next 👌
Just me who finds these so relaxing to watch?
Wow! Looks fantastic. Really enjoyed this one.
Told myself I was going to stop watching porn but I just had to let this video be an exception
This grey is such a great color. Good to see this car again.
Another CCG video,i do like these, what a clean car to what it was before, these videos are so relaxing to watch.top work.
Excellent result, it is always so relaxing to watch your videos.
I could watch one weekly, or more
Ideal world I’d upload one a week but that would literally be 100% of my time devoted.
@@CarCleaningGuru Thanks for replying!
Yes I completely understand, you need to focus on your job :)
Have you thought about uploading raw videos? Just a single placed the camera recording throughout. No editing, commentary, just drag and drop it to RUclips. Educational videos that are neatly edited and narrated are awesome and surely the best possible, but seeing that we (subs) all love the subject, we would happily see unedited work even if it's long. And it may double your video output with minimal effort. Just a thought!
Master Tolkien would not have accomplished a finer script language-wise, however I am not thoroughly certain whether a trivial topic as car cleaning deserves this level of almost academic-like narration. Cheers from a V40 user ;)
I actually love these v40s especially that front end ! 1.9d too the one I want (for now)
Nice job.
You can use a heat gun very carefully to restore faded platic trim.
I hope you realize that what you consider to be "half-assed" is what most people consider "full-assed" LOL Awesome job, it's a shame it has rust, would probably be a great car to muck about in.
I'm missing my S40.
Good to see a V40 in good shape
Thats the best looking v40 i think i have ever seen🤔 (color, trim, rims etc)
That’s why I went for it originally, the best spec and combo. The silver ones can look nice but they grey has more character and potential.
Now I can sleep easy, night night
dehv good night sleep well
Great video as always! Loving the old school V40!
👍🏿👍🏿
i came for car cleaning satisfaction. ended with guy with tremendous asmr voice.
101% satisfied
Almost 23 minutes of total relaxation!👌
Very satisfying! Thank you.
Fantastic video. For old cars like that, you can use Muriatic acid(aka HCl Hydrochloric Acid) with detailer brush on the rusty spots, it wont get rid of rust bubbles but it will wipe off the ugly orange rust off the paint. Be sure to use a respirator and eye protection.
Cut the springs on that beauty and make it a slammed wagon 😍
It rides like a bloody brick as it is!
@@CarCleaningGuru Ahahahhahaha
Really love that car! But that one rust spot... it hurts my eye :)
My advice is to keep that old and rusty car, those engines are immortal. I have 800k on my Volvo T4 2.4L Petrol. Looks a mess but its alive and kicking. Super comfy for road trips.
Nice! This is what i do every time washing my car.. I would have done the rest of the trim plastics, door handles etc.
I'd love to see that rust sorted out. Such a nice car and colour.
Personally think it still looks good and highly doubt it's on its last legs, that things an absolute weapon
Don’t get me wrong it’s far from done and with a few quid spent could be good for another decade. Doubt that’s going to happen though!
@@CarCleaningGuru True mate, the cars up for another decade but it's whether the wallet of the owner is hahaha😂
Cars can last for a long time if serviced properly.
I LOVE YOUR WORK!❤
You dont show washing the door jams and step plates of the interior door open.
great informative video as always, amazing what a bit of elbow grease can do to an 18 year old motor :)
This car does have some nice styling, rims makes a lot of it
What do you mean "least glamours"? Every video that is about caring for a car is glamours. Doesn't matter what car you take care of, it's always awesome!
We need to get this guy and Ed Bolian in the same room. So much power in their voices
The level of forearm strength you’ve developed after years of trigger bottles is insane haha
Most satisfying car detailer online. It’s your voice
If you say so!
This was the same vehicle from the dodgy detail products video wasn't it? Very satisfying to watch, cheers
It was!
Love your video's mate. So soothing :-).
And nice to see that you have a Volvo-heart like me.
Started with a V40 also, and own a T5 too now (V50).
Keep 'em coming pal.
Greetings from the Netherlands
I’d happily rock a V50!
The car cleaning guru needs an asmr channel his voice is relaxing
Could watch your videos all day!
Your "half-assed wash, dry and dress" is some peoples, "Today I finally spent the time to do my bi-annual detailing!"
Brilliant good winter scurb
Still looks damn good for a workhorse 😁
3:34 squeeze bottle trigger fingers are legendary! i know that hurts after a couple shots
“Man-flu” lol. Those are the worst! Glad you got this one done. Brilliant video.
I had volvo v40 2.0t -99 stage 3 around 250hp great car it had every accessories including electric sunroof, leather seats etc. But then my commute lengthened so had to buy diesel car
I reckon you'd like the SpeedMaster wheel brush over that one you use now. More user friendly and gets into all the nooks on the face and barrel of the wheel.
