Thanksgiving and Black Friday (through Sunday) provided some optimal waves at Honolua Bay. The main topic of conversation was the Thanksgiving swell and how big it was going to be. The general consensus was “bigger than the models are saying.”
'Surfline forecaster Charlie Hutcherson agreed. He was tracking the storm in real time, and sent out a Turkey Day update early Thursday morning: “Hawaii swell is full on, well outperforming models. Add a few feet to swell numbers you see. At least.”' quote from Surfline.
