I've only been to and surfed in Hawaii once. It was my first wave. I will never forget that feeling. As if the hand of God/nature grabbed hold of that board, picked me up and carried me to shore! Impossible to forget it! This is a fantastic documentary! Great work!
The message in all of your videos is always so genuine. You've got a great tone and beautiful camerawork. It's always a joy seeing that you've posted a new video. Keep it up!
brooo, your on kauai right now, nice nice nice, I live kapaa, I might see you around actually, ok, this will be a good vid, cant wait to see the outcome, hope everything is fine, youre video editing skills are very good, gotta make yourself a tv show, but, Imma go and comeback when this comes out so shoots, a hui hau (next day after editing for the third time cause Im unprofessional): Im back, and this is very good, and seemingly accurate for those who make surf boards probably, at times people do connect with the earth, and today i just came back from body boarding, and honestly, ya, you can feel a certain energy when catching the waves. more people need to get into the earth, if everyone can contribute to helping save this planet and preserve its treasures, there can be alot more peace, aloha from kauai, and a hui hau, lets all protect this aina and learn from sam potter

Sam, thank you ❤️ I started watching your content in 2017 with the the “Welcome to Neverland” video and your work has inspired me to chase my dream of becoming a filmmaker. I’m forever grateful for all you’ve inspired me to do. 🎥🌎
I came to these island for the first time at 50 years old and found my place in the world. The people the culture the mix of things traditional and Asian and western, all trying to live in harmony with each other. I’ve been here four years and remember my first wave like it was yesterday because it pretty much was. I would live the rest of my life in a one room apartment, a shack, or a tent, just to spend the rest of my life here and surf. I hope to carve my own board before my time on this earth runs out. Mahalo, to all the locals keeping traditions alive.
Beautifully written. I admire your love for Hawaii; and for finding your life spot in a majestic, mysterious place that is full of love and beauty. I hope to one day to do the same before my life is over.
Proud to be a Hawaiian surfer here in Hawaiʻi, still upholding some of the many profound and famous arts my culture and people have to offer! Mahalo for the video 🤙🏽
I’m in hawaii right now brotha, and lord is it beautiful. Going to visit my dads family, and we’re going to Hoʻokuaāina to do some work all thanks to your recommendation. i love the work you’re doing to try and restore the culture before it’s lost, and you’ve inspired me even more to want to help that some change. thank you.
Idk, the people appeared, the things mentioned and your narration in all videos kind of give me a different perspective of the world, and give me an idea of what really is important to us as human beings and allow us get the idea of the link between us humans and all nature. You are one of the great ones that inspire me to change my life totally and will never wonder who am I now if I hv never clicked into one of your videos early last year. You are full to the brim with aloha unconsciously, but I still wish you stay the same as a passionate HUMBLE young man.🌍🥬
Beautiful, makes me reflect on how it was perceived, experienced the first time from the shore the people who saw someone conquer the waves... and the feeling of freedom of discovering the wave. Thank you for sharing this
Hey braddah thank you for such a beautiful video. It’s important for us surfers to always remember where it all came from, and that surfing was always meant to be play and a deeply spiritual way to connect with mama ocean. See you in da water on island cuz Shoots
This is incredible!! Your films have inspired me for years and years, back from before your Captain's Logs. Your films share such incredible messages and really inspire me to tell more stories
Beautiful video. ....for comtemplation: Waves are not traveling waves of water. But rather invisible bands of energy moving THROUGH water. The water does not move. 🙂. Much love!
History came from our Ali’i Warriors n the first wood came from the “Hoe” known as Papa Paepo’o (Night Lander) today I still carrying the history. Keep up the good work of riding He’e Nalu, Palala
God bless you for making this video. Love is patient and kind. Jesus Christ walked on the water. And the wind and waves obeyed him. You are and can do greater things than Jesus Christ. Because he went to the Father. Even dancing on giant waves. I just moved to O'ahu. I grew up snowboarding and wake boarding. I always wanted to be professional snowboarder. But I fractured my spine. Which was my greatest gift and curse. I still want to try surfing and be able to stand on my first attempt. One Spirit one love brothers.
I believe there are several different origins of humans riding waves - Peru being the earliest documentation - however, it was the Hawaiians and there style of surfing that brought surfing to the world. That’s all this film is saying, a simple thank you -
Protect these Islands and the native people of Hawaii at all cost. 🤙

SUGGESTION: SURFING MAGAZINE!!!!
Well done filming. But the involvement of Corona beer could have been done much more sensitive. But anyway - thanks for supporting us.
This man is the reason why I make films🎥❤️🔥
Story telling in this is crazy
That's beautiful! And who's the man behind the camera when you're on the screen ?
Cory S. Martin is the cinematographer. He is amazing. As a fellow DP his work is always inspiring.
What would you call it in Hawaiian? The Story place? That's where we are.

Correct ❤️❤️ that’s what it says I just worded it a little funny haha
@Captain Potter at 1:05 it says Ahupua'a of Ko'olau 😊. Mahalo nui for your video though! He mea maika'i. Mālama pono🤙🏽
Bahah yes “Anahola, Ahupua’a of Ko’olau” as in Anahola is an ahupua’a within the Moku of Ko’olau. And mahalo for the kind words 🤙🏽
Finally!
What’s the chants mean?
sorry, it started in Peru in a place called Huanchaco not in Hawaii.. is a documented fact.
I believe there are several different origins of humans riding waves - Peru being the earliest documentation - however, it was the Hawaiians and there style of surfing that brought surfing to the world. That’s all this film is saying, a simple thank you -
