  • When oxen are unequally yoked, they cannot perform the task set before them. Instead of working together, they are at odds with one another. 2 Corinthians 6:14 speaks of the importance of being with spiritually like-minded mates. Erica Hubbard was married for many years and shares her experiences with being “Unequally Yoked.”

God used this episode to give us a VISUAL of what unequally yoked looks like. This is what it looks like when one person is open and vulnerable vs one being very guarded. That tension that’s present in the interview is exactly what it’s like when you’re with someone you’re not godly compatible with. Laterras said this was one of the most challenging interviews he’s ever done. And that’s how your marriage will be….challenging. Laterras represents the spouse that keeps trying to get the other one to become vulnerable with them. Erica represents that spouse that fights against being vulnerable. Watch the interview from that standpoint. Like the interview is an actual demonstration of being unequally yoked. God is awesome!!!!! Your marriage will not benefit anyone if your potential partner cannot be vulnerable and transparent.

This episode is a great example of how answering with only spiritual cliches can be empty and sometimes seem so unclear and like people can't explain what they say they believe or what nonbelievers can believe in. This was valuable. Many Christians have no clue how they look and think they've said a lot and they audience they spoke to walked away thinking the words were scripted yet empty.

One thing that this interview showed me is that people can see you. Even if we think we can put up a facade and hide parts of ourselves, it’s not hard to pick up on someone not being genuine or truthful with who or where they are. It’s very visible when someone is misaligned.

I was born to a mother who practiced witch craft and a father who only went to church because he was made to. However, by the time I came along they had found Christ and served him wholeheartedly. Just long enough for my siblings and I to know Christ before my parents decided that they no longer needed Him.
My parents have both lived extremely afflicted lives. Particularly my mother.
My mother has always spoke in tongues and if I’m being honest it sounds like she’s conjuring up something dark. What comes out of her is no gift from God. I have seen some things in my 30 something years in experiencing my parents.
I know all too well about spiritual warfare and demonic influence.
My mom was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia among other things, as well as one of my little sisters who was literally pulled from the river (alive thank God!!!) today.
My little sister in fact reminds me of the demon possessed person who was chained up in the grave yard in the Bible who was possessed with legion and when removed the demons went into the pigs and drowned them.
    That’s been my life.
I say all of that to say:
I don’t want anybody who isn’t grounded in Christ yet to watch today’s episode and believe that you have to speak in tongues or that it is some kind of requirement for God. That is a lie from the pits of hell. You do not.
Having a personal relationship with Christ breaks down exactly what He expects from you individually. In your alone time with God He will tell you. That’s why it is so vital that you get to know God for yourself.
Guys we have to seriously pray for this woman. God isn’t the author of confusion and when we are scattered in our thinking or kinda all over the place that typically indicates the absence of God and/or the presence of an ungodly thing.
I’m not saying that she is evil or doesn’t mean well or doesn’t have a relationship with Christ. However, it is extremely obvious that sis maybe going through some things. She seems to be in a spiritual battle of tug of war between the flesh and the spirit man yet she seems to be wanting to educate other people without yet doing the work within herself first.
As a body of Christ we are all messed up in one way or another and that’s exactly why we need God and each other. She referenced her mom a lot but her mom isn’t the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We can get plenty of advice from other humans that doesn’t directly come from God Himself.
This episode wasn’t about being unequally yoked. I have to believe that God wanted this woman on this podcast to show us what spiritual warfare looks like in the flesh and to show us how it doesn’t discriminate. As this is a beautiful divorced woman, with 4 kids, who acts.
I know there was someone watching who is in the same boat as her that maybe finally got the courage today to try God because now they see how they’ve been really looking in front of people.
God wastes NOTHING!!!! He can and will use it all. 💯
    Laterras,
New levels, new devils, I love you so much and I’m so proud of how you conducted this interview.

It's layers of stuff... shucks. When you get delivered, the enemy wants to retake legal grounds. Some of us need both deliverance and mental health help. Renewing our minds and be grounded in the word of God. The devil always mirrors and perverts what God made, one of them is religion. I hope she gets further deliverance, and there are demonic principalities you can't cast out for people. They have to make that decision themselves. @@abbasjoy4785 I strongly agree with everything that you said. LAYERS. She wasn’t ready. Discernment and vulnerability are key components too. Also thanks for name dropping the resource. I’ll check it out. As someone dealing with it and seeing it first hand, there are no days off for me. I’m expecting miracles within my family and myself as so much has taken a toll, on not just me, but my siblings as well. I remember begging God for my mom’s deliverance and even questioning Him out of frustration. When He revealed to me that He can and wants to deliver her but she refuses Him I was so shocked. When I questioned her about it she didn’t even deny it.
My little sisters situation is different as what she’s battling was passed down generationally. She loves God so much but she has to be in a position to surrender. God knows that she was innocent in all this and I’ve turned it over to Him. I’m believing for her deliverance and even if He doesn’t bring her out I still trust Him. 💯
Those principalities, and powers, rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness in heavenly places aka demons are very real. We can’t see them in this realm but they attack us. God teaches us how to fight, as a spiritual battle can’t be won in the flesh.

There was a huge takeaway that I got from this episode. Just because you may be ready to have tough or deep conversations, does not mean that everyone else is. We have to give people grace, comfort and respect and to let them know that it is okay. I truly believe that this was a huge step for her in her growth journey and God willing, if it's His will, that she will be back at the end of this season, or next season and she is going to be truly convicted to share her story effortlessly! Thank you Laterras for patience and understanding because at anytime, I just knew the cameras were going to cut off and come back on with you reading your letter!🤣🤣🙌🙌🥰🥰

Erica Hubbard has a lot of wisdom. I believe she’s still trying to process her divorce. Divorce is traumatizing. I’m not sure if she is ready to be vulnerable at this time. Perhaps vulnerability is not something she wants to embrace at all ( even her reaction to how LW's once expressed motion shows this) believe she genuinely wants to give us a message without giving us too much of a window into her personal life. Hence, this may not have been the best “ couch” for her. I’m thinking a show like “ Better Together “ would be more fitting. I love this Podcast and what it’s doing for us … I thank Erica Hubbard for her teachings.

  • @Christimony222
    @Christimony222 Год назад +117

I saw so much in this episode. It’s very obvious that she’s under the spirit of religion. And, her mother plays a huge part in it. But, she also said her father is strict. I can tell her parents are still ruling her life. She’s speaking as if she knows they’re watching it. She knows her church community is watching. I don’t think she’s ever even met herself. She only knows herself through religion. She always talks about what your “supposed” to do. She only knows rules. I think she can’t control speaking in tongues because she’s literally under the spirit of religion. Which can show up as mental illness. She’s not even able to speak in first person. She speaks as if she’s giving advice. The spirit of religion will convince you that everyone else’s spirit is what’s wrong. So, you’ll never hold the mirror up to self. She was unable to speak on her divorce because it makes her feel like she failed. She filed for divorce first because she knew her husband thought she was crazy. He never liked the uncontrollable tongues. That is why for her new husband all she knows is she wants him to be ok with that. Because, she’s unable to shut it off. She’s trying to be perfect constantly but it’s only making her unstable. All she knows is religion. That is her only requirement for husband. Is to be religious. And, then she will serve you. Because, she never stops operating out of people pleasing. But, it’s not her fault. Her parents were clearly very strict with her and made her into a people pleaser. She doesn’t know herself. She only knows herself in the eyes of others. She worked very hard for us to not see her. But, we all did. Laterras didn’t let up. I love that he didn’t fake with her just because she’s a celebrity. I think she’s suffering from a mental illness. She’s not wrong to call it spiritual warfare. That’s what it is. I truly believe she may have went through something traumatic. Or, just the judgement from church has been traumatic. That’s why she’s speaks on shame, embarrassment, or rage. I think religion is an escape. She’s not really able to tap into reality right now. She blocks out the deep rejection she feels. Especially from that divorce. She kept saying “you want people to see you married. It looks good.” Unfortunately- her entirely reality is through the eyes of others. She’s not able to say dating has been hard because she is trying to hide that many people see her as crazy. Including her children. She wants someone who is equally as consumed with religion as she is. But, God often sends us the person we NEED. The one who will help ground us. Her partner is probably not as consumed with it as she is. And, she doesn’t even know that she needed that. But, I can tell it was not her who walked away from the marriage. He did. But, she was the famous one so she did it first because she’s not able to face anything that feels like a failure.

I always enjoy the podcast, but this one was disappointing. Erica was talking in code and sounded immature when asked to elaborate. She didn't want to share the name of a book??? That moment was so strange. I'm thinking she wanted to be on the show to enlighten people on spiritual warfare, not being unequally yoked. Her ex-husband just wasn't the same type of believer. She basically said you need oil, to lay hands, cast out demons and speak in tongues to be equally yoked.
But Laterras caught all of it and summed it up. He said, 'you like to talk in circles'. I admire his patience...it reminded me how much I need to exercise that fruit of the spirit, because I would've wrapped that interview up a lot sooner than he did.

I salute and respect Erica for bearing her vulnerability, without sharing what she has not yet fully processed and which she clearly feels uncomfortable sharing. I salute her for putting herself and her vulnerability out there. She is clearly trying to protect someone. I respect her for saying she has nothing to say to others about marriage as she is still clearly, trying to process her experience. Laterras this has been a learning experience for you also. Sometimes the lessons we think we will get from a classroom, is not the lesson God intended us to learn.
Erica reminded me that I must afford Grace and exercise patience with others, meeting them where they are at and not projecting my expectations on them. I pray she finds the courage to work through it all and wish her the very best. Every experience shared in these podcasts are a lesson for all of us.
Erica strikes me as a very bright young lady and one who is very mindful about not offending and /or exposing others. She clearly has a gift that she seems to be seeking clarity and approval on how best to manage/utilise it. Erica seems to inject humour to try to combat her nervousness and unease with the questions.
I like how Erica thanks Laterras for articulating what she was not able to. I hope she comes back when she is stronger and clearer in her deliverance.

Let’s be kind to her, because it’s hard to open up and be vulnerable especially on a public platform. She might’ve thought she was ready but when she got there, she realized she wasn’t.
Hopefully we’ll see her return and do this with a more vulnerable spirit.

One of the major reasons why this interview may be confusing is that you have to understand the role and characteristic of a prophet. They are deemed weird, they seem to speak in circles, they seem to be in their head. As a prophet she has to be very selective in what she says because it WILL COME TO PASS, even the most smallest of thoughts or words. I pray for her maturity, boldness and strategy on how to be a market place end time prophet in Jesus Name Amen.

Whilst some people are saying that if she knew she wasn’t ready for the podcast, she shouldn’t have came on.
But to shed some light on that, there’s a lot of takeaways from this interview. Even through her imperfections there was things that had displayed through the interview that had us check ourselves for a min. A keen example was PATIENCE. I salute Mr Whitfield for his outmost patience as I know that this podcast is directly driven by God because we are seeing the light of God displayed on this forum.
Though this might not have gone the way we expected, please to try and see the good as this will help us all on our personal healing journey. And I pray that the love of God will guide Erica, and may she find peace and restoration healing and deliverance as she go about her daily life. So while this didn’t go as planned, this was definitely a beaming light for others to see.

Being equally yoked is more than just spiritual. Being equally yoked is a covenant agreement on a vision that usually comes from your MOG that your spirit discerns as a wife you’re supposed to help with physically. You are both working that vision within the confines of that relationship not only for the kingdom but for your family, your community, etc. Not just the church. This vision will often times keep you when you’re not feeling super saved or spiritual.
    I am praying for her.

-I think she's ignorant to things concerning tongues and she probably over spiritualize things that can be fixed in practical ways. I really think this probably played a major role in the demise of her marriage. Not everything is demonic. I've been raised up Pentecostal and I even think she's strange. Funny thing is I know a lady like this. You can be talking to her about a game and she'll start speaking tongues out of no where. Paul teaches that you can control yourself. The Holy Spirit is intelligent and not without order and purpose. The woman even annoys believers and No one like to be around her. The woman I speak of is very heavenly minded and no earthly good.

Just MHO Laterras I would take this episode down. It was not good for your brand. And she is trying to pump your platform for that E-Book because she knows you have more clout than she does as even an actress. I’ve been married healed & delivered from my relationship traumas & the one thing I know for sure is that you can’t skirt around the truth to be free. She’s a bound woman & I don’t know to what since she didn’t give ANY reference as to why the marriage didn’t work. Because I’m discerning I KNOW has to do with sex & sexual perversion from either her OR the husband. No one needs to tell me I KNOW. That’s why these marriages of unequally yoked can’t work because someone is willingly allowing demonic activities into the home via sex, drugs or other spiritual practices that are against God & His people.

Whew!! She was ALL over the place...literally... and seemed so unsure of herself. A lot of information she gave on spiritual gifts was so inaccurate and contained a lot of "self beliefs" from what her mom has taught her and what she now believes. She also stated that more people will be drawn to learn about the gifts because of her interview but I beg to differ. Please learn for yourself and do NOT take her word. Spiritual gifts are given to a person by the Holy Spirit and can't just be taught and learned because one desires it. I've also never heard of speaking in tongues being used to deescalate a situation. That stance seems almost demonic in nature. This interview was very difficult to listen to out all the episodes I've seen. One positive...Laterras did an amazing job of keeping the flow steady as much as possible.
