I don't think you realise what type of defender he is. He is the type of defender that knows where everyone is gonna be and can guard 5 players in one possession, not the type to lock someone down one on one. He has an all time high defensive IQ, and knows he doesn't have the athleticism to keep up with LeBron James for 40 mins so he anticipates where people are and when they will get the ball.
You're right. If Draymond keeps it up he will be in the HOF, but Charles was an absolute MONSTER in his prime it's honestly insane. Sir Charles in his prime was better than prime Magic imo.

Barkleys Suns lost the final game against the Bulls in the '93 championship 98-99. One score away from having a ring. He was that close.
Wish Barkley could have teamed up with Hakeen earlier. They definitely would have been better then Jordan, Pippen at that point.
Had they teamed in something like 1990? Hell they could have stopped the original 3peat. Barkley and Hakeem were both quite better than Pippen then, MJ would have had to carry a much heavier load without his presence.

He's not built for the Draymond role as a utility guy. He needs the ball in the high post iso + a pick-&-role point guard like a CP3, instead of a shooting-oriented one. Klay would be great for him as a spot-up shooter to space the floor from the wing.

Funny thing about this series is that this decimated '93 Lakers team went up 2 games to zip and they came pretty close knocking Phoenix right out of the playoffs in the first round!
Phoenix was a better road team in these playoffs. Won games 3 and 4 in L.A to avoid getting eliminated in first round, closed the 2nd round out in San Antonio, won an important game 3 in Seattle in conference finals, won games 3 and 5 in Chicago that if they don't win that game 3, then they get swept in the finals.

Lakers really should have won this game, Refs didn't call a offensive basket inference by Barkley late in the 4th Quarter that kept this game alive.

if CB was in this era the era would have to adjust to CB and wouldnt be the same..first he would crash the boards in both sides and be a coast to coast nightmare..second he would collapse the defense in double teams and triple teams and if left one on one ask Don Nelson..third his bravado was of the charts to stand his ground against Shaq,the Bad Boys line up, the Knicks monster line up even DR and sophomore TD at 36 with knees and back gone..imagine the guys today having to deal with him..so a 30 ppg with 15 boards and 5 assists with a well over 50 fg is the most likely scenario..CB was broadly recognised as the second best player in the league for a good 5 year stretch behind MJ..

Same here. I still think he was better with the Suns. More seasoned. Had to prove he was a leader. Philly had Moses Malone and Dr. J at the time. Barkley was on his own in Phoenix and wanted to actually lead. That he did.
If that shot Byron Scott? at the end of regulation goes in or the 24 second violation by Barkley's goal tending gets called, the Sun's dream season never occurs, Wow!

Barkley is underrated because he never won a championship…. but in this 1993 season he basically did… he joined the Suns and immediately took them to the finals his first year with the team…but they ran into Jordan… if Jordan went to play baseball a year earlier, the Suns would have won the title and Barkley probably would have won Finals MVP.

Phoenix was one loss away from arguably the biggest playoff series upset in NBA history(which was accomplished the year after with Seattle's playoff series loss to Denver) as a 1 seed with a league leading 62 regular season wins, losing to the 8th seeded Lakers. That may have permanently stained Barkley's career and legacy more than never winning a title.

Kevin S. Past his prime James Worthy. The thing is the Lakers almost won the series. They went up 2-0 in a best of 5 series. They lost the next 3 games tho
Well Vlade Divac was the best on the team then. Funny thing is although James Worthy was only 31 then, he had fallen to the 6th or 7th best player on the team already. They didn't have any stand out players really, just a not bad bench and decent starting lineup. A weird period for the Lakers.
No one lol. Broken Worthy, old Byron Scott and their best player was Vlade who wasn't even close to being an all star. It was a disgrace that the one seeded Suns with mvp Barkley took a game 5 overtime to beat them

Well to be fair the Suns was weirdly struggling against the Lakers in the reg. season then when the playoffs started Kevin Johnson had a knee injury and was out for the 1st Round the Lakers we're almost so lucky

Yes late in 4th quarter, Barkley got away with offensive basket interference that wasn't called, which kept the game alive for the Suns, Lakers were up by 4 with less than a minute in the game, this was almost a case where accidents happen in the NBA playoffs, the league wanted it to be Bulls vs Suns that year.
