It would be a crime to put him in this era where he'd be jacking up 10 3's a game. Barkley was meant to be a beast that attacked the lane on fastbreaks and pounded the ball in the post.
There is zero variety in today's offense. The mid-range game is gone, the post game is gone and the excitement of watching people drive to the hoop is watered down because they don't have to overcome the physicality that they used to. It's not a good product.

The Bulls supporting cast on the other hand, did performe. That last 3 by Paxson in game 6 was a masterpiece of moving the ball and finding the perfect shot. KJ on the other side did not get a good shot in the end. The play wasn`t great. He penetrated in a crowded paint, where Horace blocked him.

Missed '92 playoffs with injury. Went out like this in '93. Lost Sean Elliot in '94 to trade for Rodman, was the entire team from a scoring perspective, got smoked by Jazz in Round 1. Got Elliot back in '95... had both Rodman and Elliot, Elliot's two missed free throws cost them game 1, and ended up losing in 6.... Hakeem shot the ball way more than Robinson (an insane 28 spg to 16 spg by Robinson), and played like he was hungrier (did the same in the finals against Shaq - 29 spg to Shaq's 18 spg). Hakeem was a better lone wolf than Robinson, Robinson continued to play team basketball. Not sure I can blame him for that, but it was a bad look when Hakeem was putting up crazy numbers. Lost Rodman in '96 and got smoked by an verge-of elite Jazz team... it was disappointing for sure. Injured in '97, but got an amazing gift in #1 pick Duncan. '98 they lost to truly elite Jazz again Duncan and Robinson were equals. '99 there was no stopping them, Duncan played more minutes and held it down while Robinson spent a little more time on the bench. Duncan better numbers, but per 36 minutes virtually identical (Duncan 20/11 Robinson 18/12). I almost wish Robinson would've demanded more PT/shots in '99 to have won a championship as an alpha dog, which I believe they would've... but that's not Robinson's true legacy... his true legacy is the Spurs legacy... as is Duncan's... giving up personal glory for the sake of the team. 5 rings in 16 years in little ol' San Antonio. It fits the city, and the players. Not gonna lie though, the lack of individual respect hurts.

I'd only like to kind've qualify to say that while Hakeem was playing hungrier which is putting it perfectly, at the same time he was playing as good or better team ball as Robinson at the same time along with better defense. He was just a monster. I wish our twin towers of Hakeem and Sampson had've worked out but things rarely go according to plan or ideally. I regret that Houston never got to face the Bulls during Houston's three prime seasons '93-'95, they certainly had a good chance to beat MJ and the bulls and if they did I think people would respect Hakeem's legacy a lot more, and even Robert Horry and everyone else on that team.

I watched several games with Barkley vs Jordan. It was usually an even match-up. Jordan might get a few more points, Barkley would have a lot more boards, and would be a better team player, with inferior teammates. There was a video game at the time called Barkley vs Jordan. It was an even match-up. That's how he was rated at the time. Now, for some reason, he is severely underrated.
imho maybe better than dirk, kg and duncan. Top 10 all time, and possibly goat PF (unless you wanna call Hakeem a PF)

We went from being a 5'10" guard in high school, to a just under 6'5" center in college, this is where I think he got his versatility from. He had some handles, could face the basket, lead the break, but could post up on anyone.
