Happy Saturday, June 22nd everyone! I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend so far. A major heat wave will fuel BIG thunderstorms across parts of the United States this weekend and into early next week!
You are one of the very few people who cover the weather here in Southern Ontario, even the news only spends like 10 seconds on it each morning!
We already have 2.5" of rain in East Central WI. I wonder what round 2 will bring this evening. Thanks for the update Hunter.
Most thunderstorms this evening will be further south into Iowa, Illinois and Indiana.
cant wait for this cold front tonight, we've had rain every night and it just gets more humid, and the rock river is approaching the levees. big week for Rockford severe weather, I look foreward to all your videos, Hunter! 👍
I expect a few supercell thunderstorms to grow upscale into a squall line across Northern IL this evening. Damaging winds of 60 to possibly as high as 70 mph will be the main hazards from the storms. The hail risk is very low due to warmer temperatures in the lower atmosphere preventing large hail growth. The tornado risk is there, but it’s mostly a low potential for tornadoes since it’ll be a line of thunderstorms.

I am 62. This is normal weather, I have observed this since 1967.
Not in WV, I'm 69, we go from winter to cold rain to HOT. They keep messing with the HARP, they need to control China or Russia's weather
You may not have noticed or you recorded this before but SPC updated the risk for Sunday and it’s posing a bigger threat
They upgraded right after my weather forecast video was posted. They update multiple times a day.
Rain is definitely welcome in northern Illinois.
I agree! The lawns are starting to get a little crunchy and browning up in spots. Northern IL should get some decent rains tonight and then again possibly Tuesday afternoon/night.
Should I be worried for tornadoes just south of Kalamazoo today we are close to be in the tornado threat??
Low chance for tornadoes today. It’s mainly damaging winds possibly up to 70 mph and some hail.

Could Wednesday feature some big severe weather in northern Ohio??
Way too early to know for sure. The Storm Prediction Center isn’t confident in highlighting any severe weather probabilities anywhere for Tuesday despite the ingredients lining up for severe weather because the placement of storms is too uncertain right now. I’ll keep you updated.

The line of thunderstorms will be on a weakening trend as it moves south into Central Illinois later this evening. Potentially anywhere from a half an inch up to an inch of rainfall will be possible.
