Adaman had my heart from his debut in my playthrough. Like. He's so cool, I like his character and his design. Iridia gets more of a mini arc, but Adaman as a whole feels more developed and like you know a bit more about him just by his wording and actions.

For people who are playing to enjoy the plot, I recommend picking which character you personally like best! You end up getting some nice flavor text with them and they get a little bit more character development. The opposite one doesn't go away or anything though, they're still instrumental to the plot in their own way. But the one you do pick ends up having a bit more of a prominent role. So it's something to consider if you strongly prefer one character over the other.
I really like that, that this game is daring to tackle things the series as a whole hasn't dared to. I said early on in the story, that this game feels like a fangame, but in a good way, y'know? Like, a kind of, "Wow, didn't know GameFreak had it in them, I'm impressed!" thing.
Actually, Gamefreak DID tackle something like this once before in Gen 3..... but since it was a conflict about that time period specifically in Japan, a LOT of the context for that just didn't make sense outside of people in Japan alive in that time period.... With full context, Team Aqua and Magma actually seem less stupid and the point was to help teach children about a serious political issue in their country....

Basically you’ll be able to catch either dialga or palkia in a unique pokeball (irida for dialga and adamant for palkia) this is the only lasting effect, everything else will end up the same.
I chose Iridia because she actually had a character arc and I felt more connected to her because you interact with her more. Also the diamond warden for electrode was so horribly aweful that I wanted as little to do with them as I could
This was my exact reason too. I have always chosen Diamond over Pearl. But Melli was so annoying and I didn't want to deal with him again so I choose to have Irida help just in case the wardens were to come back.
I hate Melli but I like Dialga more than Palkia so went with Adaman. If there was a third group representing platinum and Giratina I’d go with that group I like Giratina the most out of the 3.
I think it'd be helpful to add that whoever you don't choose--their Legendary gets the special pokeball. I like to use specific coloured balls for each pokemon, so I was kinda bummed out to find that while you can throw whatever ball you like at the first legendary (the one corresponding to the clan leader you choose), the second is locked. Hope this info helps some people (like me) who obsess over details:)
I also wanted to address that once you get to this part of the game and the sky changes you can no longer change the weather conditions of ANY area until you complete the last two missions. I was trying to evolve my Sliggoo during this time and had to close the rift to be able to make it rain again.
Yeah that was annoying, I wanted to slow down with the story and do side quests and dex stuff but the music and sky was so annoying so I felt forced to finish

One little thing at the end Austin, it’s once you speak to Kamado after quelling the last noble where the story thrusts you into the late game where everything goes awry. Speaking to Laventon only takes you back to the village but you can very easily do whatever you want as long as you avoid Kamado
Honestly, I might pick Irida because you get to know her and see her grow as a character to slowly trust you as you journey in the game, along with helping both clans. Also I imagine people went for Diamond not just for Adaman but for a certain red head that is at the hair cut place since she pops up a lot more than him.
Don't you just love it when a game just gets you to love characters and get to grow connections with them. Then out of no where it's like, "Aight choose a side, them or us, PICK!" Sidenote: Thank God there's actually a good ending to it all instead of getting at each other's throats 😭. (I'm look at you Fire Emblem)
@@applesgonemad5109 yeah Irida's whole attitude was just her trying to make herself look tough because of her stress that came from being such a young clan leader. later u can see that she was still so green to everything and slowly learned to fill in her role as clan leader. Adaman's cool and all but Irida def got the better character story.
Went with Adaman. I just really love his design and he's a pretty laid back guy. I hate that he has Melli in his clan who's trying to be like Papyrus but is just a bully, but I just like Adaman. I wish we could go galivanting around Hisui more.
I would pick Irida because from a lore perspective she just needs it more. As the story progresses, she goes through a whole character arc, and having you trust her to help me such an important task would be the conclusion of it. We also get to learn a lot about her past and about how rough her life has been
I had spoiled the story for myself, knew what would happen, & I STILL put my switch down & slept on this decision for a whole night… Austin is right, the decision doesn’t have any huge effects on the rest of your play through, but I was so emotionally attached to both Irida and Adaman that I was afraid to choose one over the other 😂
I also like em both so when I chose Irida I was glad Adaman wasnt upset and he was even like "Actually, its an honor bc she trusts me to do the other things by myself B)" which is nicer than them just being salty about it

I wanted Adaman helping me because he accepted me from the getgo, while Iridia gave us the cold shoulder for a while. In the end though if you want your legendary in a cooler ball choose your least favorite of the two to help you
Well, Iridia does improve her stance. Do keep in mind. She was made leader of her clan at a young age. She had no idea what she wanted to do. The best she could think of, at the time, was to stick to the traditions and try not to shake the status quo. Though over time she does open up to you and is there to help smooth over some things with the other members within the Pearl Clan. Though the one girl I despise the most is Melli. Swear she needs to the stick out of her ass.

To essentially get straight too the point, this choice really only matters on how you would like the ending to “look” like and yes only how it would “look” like. It doesn’t affect the overall story or gameplay at all

You choose for the dialogue, for the unique cutscenes, and for the immersion of who will be your 'partner' as if it's an Anime. Also, to emphasize that you've been chosen by Palkia / Dialga, too.
came here to say this. Luckily I picked Pearl (Irida was just nicer imo) and i’m glad I did because i *strongly* prefer Dialga and would have been SO upset if Palkia ended up being in the cooler ball
Oh I didn't worry at all about not being able to obtain the other Pokemon. Because in the very beginning, Austin already told us that we can obtain every single Pokemon without even having to trade.
Just a fair warning... There is ONE difference that I personally picked one option over the other. Whoever you pick, just know that the OTHER legendary will be the one caught in the Origin Ball. That's the literal ONLY difference.
And there backwards. The guy in dialga blue leads to palkia getting the awesome pokeball... That's how I chose and I only realized it at that point in the game. So I chose dialga and ended up getting palkia in the origin ball. Lame..
This is the one piece of information I wish I knew first. I was hoping he would mention it in the video because the choice does matter if you want the special pokéball on the legendary of your choice.

I went with Adaman, I just really enjoyed his character. Plus I found it hilarious that his name's an anagram of mine, playing through the game as Amanda and then seeing Adaman threw me lol.
I chose Adaman because I felt we had spent a lot more time with Irida and seeing her character, so I wanted to see more about Adaman. Also glad I did it because it made me like Palkia way more than I did before
I went with Adaman because I thought I would fight the Origin-Form Dialga just to found out it would be the opposite. But it helped me to get used to Palkias Origin-Form which didn´t convince me at first.

Not full spoiler, but minor spoiler in difference between choices below... You get both Diamond and Pearl box legends eventually. The one you want in a fancy story ball, choose the OPPOSITE leader (choose Irida if you want Dialga in a fancy ball and vice versa). The other legendary you'll catch with whatever ball you have.
I really wanted to go with Adaman, but since I wanted to fight Origin Dialga and catch it with the special red ball, I had to go with Irida in the end.

@@umbra_cura4158 There’s a bit of plot in between to obtain the necessary origin ball to catch it, but once you get to the actual fight, it’s just like the frenzied pokemon so you’ll be fine if you can do those well enough
I picked Irida because she’s one of my favorite characters in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. My number one favorite is Akari & good thing I’m playing as her in the game.❤️
I really gotta give props to this guy. It is pretty difficult to put up decent quality content like he is while keeping it spoiler free. Not many content creators have the respect to do that even though the game has launched. I think all of youtube should be sitting back and learning from what he's able to put out there!
There's a lot of things in the story that screams older audience. Then I realized that in the beginning it says your character is about 15 which makes them the second oldest protagonist in the games. This game is what people asked for in my opinion. It's got a challenge, is open world and the story is well put together. Edit: Unova is 16-17 making them the oldest.
Story isn't that good, but it's leagues above the story of games like sword and shield. I'll describe the story of sword and shield: player gets a couple gyms, thing explodes, Leon says not to worry about it, player gets to Pokemon league thing, another explosion, rose big bad, fight hand, be champion. Legends Arceus has an actual plot, while not very good, it's a good step for gamefreak.

Had no hesitation in picking Adaman regardless of what might have happened. Felt a little weird at first since I always chose the Pearl games but.. So glad I did too because I didn't have to fight time 'Sinnoh' in it's awkward teenage form. 😅

Dude, I may have already beaten the game but thank you so much for how you've handled giving info on this game. You're through, concise, and very kind and I feel like a wide range of ages is gonna be able to happily and easily understand more about Legends. Keep doin what you do!
(I will try to keep this spoiler free, so you can safely read my message!) The main important point I found about this choice however, is that the exclusive Pokéball (this game's equivalent of a master ball) looks kind of like a Cherish ball, thus it has a red-ish color. The game will use said ball specifically in relation to the plot; you will not be able to just own the ball and use it on whichever Pokémon you like. There this choice between Adaman and Irida matters if you care for aesthetics between Pokémon and the ball they are in; Depending on your choice here, one of the two respective Pokémon tied to the Pearl or Diamond clan will be contained within said ball. It is the Pokémon of the opposite clan to the one you picked which will be contained within this ball. I for instance picked Adaman, as I felt this would leave me to have the most aesthetically matching Pokémon contained in that particular ball. For the other Pokémon (the one tied to the clan whose side you pick), you can choose which ball you catch it in out of all the balls you generally use in the game.
I went with Irida because I wanted the final boss in the special ball. What happens before the choice reminded me of the story in the first Pokemon Mystery Dungeon.
I was already planning to play this game on two different profiles, so I decided that I'd choose whichever I didn't get the first time. That didn't make this choice any better, though.

Spoiler free: The only lasting and somewhat important thing that chances is that, the legendary associated with the person you DO NOT chose gets caught in a unique pokeball.
there are only 2 differences to consider in this decision 1-you normal fight (classic game style) the one you choose(dialga for adaman and palkia for irida), the other one is fought launching things like the noble pokemon 2- there is a special red pokeball that will catch the legendary of the one you didn't choose (the one you fight noble style) even then, both legendaries do the same things if fought as frenzy style bosses, so at the end of the day all differences are aesthetics after the fact the only difference will be the pokeballs so choose whatever you want, i choose irida because i wanted to fight dialga with my bare hands (and i like red ball in blue pokemon more than red ball in white pokemon)

*Instead of picking Diamond or Pearl clan, you should choose the Platinum clan. Trust me, secrets are still hidden within Legends Arceus and you'll never know rather you have access to the Distortion World or not.*

It’s amazing. The theory of relativity being applied here: space-time being the reality of life. The fact of space and time expanding and contracting (like the space distortions, etc.) is actually in the theory of relativity. It’s religious implications and historical implications are the fact that two major religions were established and at conflict based on the one-sided conclusions (like in this game.) of the whole fact of reality. Intriguing how they simply added these adult themes in a charming way to Pokémon! Subarashi!

The sequence of events you mentioned kind of reminds me of some of the story beats in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games. And that is all I will say for the sake of not spoiling things.
Yeah... losing all my good sh*t when I fall out of the sky and die reminds me of mystery dungeon. I keep trying to pause while I'm up there with braviary. You can have 50 potions and 10 nuggets and you can bet their taking all those nuggets. Pr*cks. Side note: the new evolutions are amazing imo.. kleavor may be my favorite pokemon bar none (I have a shiny). Wyrdeer is awesome (also have a shiny). Ursaluna is fantastic. Psychic braviary is great. And alphas are a much better idea than dynamax... The game is great... already looking forward to the next installment. Armless palkia is lame though.

yeah the only difference is that whoever u didn't choose let's u catch the god of their clan in a special pokeball called the originball which is crimson red and looks cool af. so if u chose Adamant you can catch the ruler of space with the origin ball and vice versa

The "decision" only pertains to which Legendary you get to obtain first, and the other will be the one you catch automatically (after a round of peppering it with balms)...that's it! Choose whichever you want. Just keep in mind that the battle with either Origin Form is merely an appetizer for the Arceus encounter at the end of the game!
I picked adamant cuz i felt with his wisdom and gutso he could keep up with me. I felt like he wisend up by the end, and was much more mature than what he was at the start. While irida is capable as well, and it moved me to have her on such a defensive about my banishment, i feel she still has growing to do, much more than adaman. While i prefer to have neither of them joining me adaman was my pick. Plus dialga is dope!
The only thing I would add is which of the legendaries do you want in a special ball? If you would Dialga in a special ball choose the girl, if Palkia choose the guy. Not a big issue but something that does change the icon of ball caught on a pokemon.
When they asked me to choose, I was at an absolute loss. I just didn't want anyone else to be mad at me. Ended up choosing Adaman, in line with my original choice for Diamond. Very glad Irida didn't get pissed lol
This choice was so HARD! I really liked both of them. They both quickly became some of my favorite characters in the series. I ended up choosing Adaman, but if I ever go start over and play through again (probably will, since I love the game so much) I will choose Irida.

I've just played the game like 5 days ago and haven't got to far from the start but I always thought that there will always be "choose your clan" scenario. I never worried cuz Austin has told us that we will be able to get complete the pokedex and caught every pokemon
When I got to this part and I had to choose, I went with Irida since from the first time that I seen her, Irida reminded me of Blanc/White Heart from the Hyperdimension Neptunia series like even when playing the game I kept referring to her as the Pokémon's version of Lowee's Goddess plus it gave me a chance to battle Palkia since I always battled Dialga since I picked up Brilliant Diamond but never really got to fight Palkia a whole lot in the main series outside of spin offs like Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky.
I played through this game a week early and it was so much fun, but this part was so jarring. I love Dialga way more than Palkia so I’m so mad I picked Adaman (no spoilers, but I would pick the opposite of the one you want more).

Actually, while talking to the Professor after quelling the 5th Noble does force you to return to the village, you can leave again. Talking to the professor will pull you back to the village every time without the option to stay where you are, but you can keep heading back out until you report having quelled the noble to the commander.

Actually, Gamefreak DID tackle something like this once before in Gen 3..... but since it was a conflict about that time period specifically in Japan, a LOT of the context for that just didn't make sense outside of people in Japan alive in that time period....

Basically you’ll be able to catch either dialga or palkia in a unique pokeball (irida for dialga and adamant for palkia) this is the only lasting effect, everything else will end up the same.

This was my exact reason too. I have always chosen Diamond over Pearl. But Melli was so annoying and I didn't want to deal with him again so I choose to have Irida help just in case the wardens were to come back.

I think it'd be helpful to add that whoever you don't choose--their Legendary gets the special pokeball.
I like to use specific coloured balls for each pokemon, so I was kinda bummed out to find that while you can throw whatever ball you like at the first legendary (the one corresponding to the clan leader you choose), the second is locked. Hope this info helps some people (like me) who obsess over details:)

I also wanted to address that once you get to this part of the game and the sky changes you can no longer change the weather conditions of ANY area until you complete the last two missions. I was trying to evolve my Sliggoo during this time and had to close the rift to be able to make it rain again.
Yeah that was annoying, I wanted to slow down with the story and do side quests and dex stuff but the music and sky was so annoying so I felt forced to finish

One little thing at the end Austin, it’s once you speak to Kamado after quelling the last noble where the story thrusts you into the late game where everything goes awry. Speaking to Laventon only takes you back to the village but you can very easily do whatever you want as long as you avoid Kamado

Honestly, I might pick Irida because you get to know her and see her grow as a character to slowly trust you as you journey in the game, along with helping both clans. Also I imagine people went for Diamond not just for Adaman but for a certain red head that is at the hair cut place since she pops up a lot more than him.

I liked Adaman better. Irida had this “I’m better than you” attitude when we first met, Adaman was a team player from the get go

Went with Adaman. I just really love his design and he's a pretty laid back guy. I hate that he has Melli in his clan who's trying to be like Papyrus but is just a bully, but I just like Adaman. I wish we could go galivanting around Hisui more.
I would pick Irida because from a lore perspective she just needs it more. As the story progresses, she goes through a whole character arc, and having you trust her to help me such an important task would be the conclusion of it. We also get to learn a lot about her past and about how rough her life has been
I had spoiled the story for myself, knew what would happen, & I STILL put my switch down & slept on this decision for a whole night… Austin is right, the decision doesn’t have any huge effects on the rest of your play through, but I was so emotionally attached to both Irida and Adaman that I was afraid to choose one over the other 😂
I also like em both so when I chose Irida I was glad Adaman wasnt upset and he was even like "Actually, its an honor bc she trusts me to do the other things by myself B)" which is nicer than them just being salty about it

Well, Iridia does improve her stance. Do keep in mind. She was made leader of her clan at a young age. She had no idea what she wanted to do. The best she could think of, at the time, was to stick to the traditions and try not to shake the status quo. Though over time she does open up to you and is there to help smooth over some things with the other members within the Pearl Clan.
Though the one girl I despise the most is Melli. Swear she needs to the stick out of her ass.

To essentially get straight too the point, this choice really only matters on how you would like the ending to “look” like and yes only how it would “look” like. It doesn’t affect the overall story or gameplay at all

Just a fair warning... There is ONE difference that I personally picked one option over the other.
Whoever you pick, just know that the OTHER legendary will be the one caught in the Origin Ball. That's the literal ONLY difference.
And there backwards. The guy in dialga blue leads to palkia getting the awesome pokeball...
That's how I chose and I only realized it at that point in the game. So I chose dialga and ended up getting palkia in the origin ball. Lame..

I went with Adaman, I just really enjoyed his character. Plus I found it hilarious that his name's an anagram of mine, playing through the game as Amanda and then seeing Adaman threw me lol.

I chose Adaman because I felt we had spent a lot more time with Irida and seeing her character, so I wanted to see more about Adaman. Also glad I did it because it made me like Palkia way more than I did before
I came to the opposite conclusion. I knew Irida better and wanted to see more of her development.
I went with Adaman because I thought I would fight the Origin-Form Dialga just to found out it would be the opposite. But it helped me to get used to Palkias Origin-Form which didn´t convince me at first.
This actually makes a lot of sense.

You get both Diamond and Pearl box legends eventually. The one you want in a fancy story ball, choose the OPPOSITE leader (choose Irida if you want Dialga in a fancy ball and vice versa). The other legendary you'll catch with whatever ball you have.
Oh thank god i was worried that if I picked Irida (which I did because she’s hotter) I would end up having palkia first but luckily it’s vice versa.
I really wanted to go with Adaman, but since I wanted to fight Origin Dialga and catch it with the special red ball, I had to go with Irida in the end.

I picked Irida because she’s one of my favorite characters in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. My number one favorite is Akari & good thing I’m playing as her in the game.❤️

I really gotta give props to this guy. It is pretty difficult to put up decent quality content like he is while keeping it spoiler free. Not many content creators have the respect to do that even though the game has launched. I think all of youtube should be sitting back and learning from what he's able to put out there!
There's a lot of things in the story that screams older audience. Then I realized that in the beginning it says your character is about 15 which makes them the second oldest protagonist in the games.
This game is what people asked for in my opinion. It's got a challenge, is open world and the story is well put together.
Edit: Unova is 16-17 making them the oldest.
Story isn't that good, but it's leagues above the story of games like sword and shield.
I'll describe the story of sword and shield: player gets a couple gyms, thing explodes, Leon says not to worry about it, player gets to Pokemon league thing, another explosion, rose big bad, fight hand, be champion.
Legends Arceus has an actual plot, while not very good, it's a good step for gamefreak.
the alola protag was also older if I recall (think was about 13) since they also didn't have a league until events of sun and moon

Dude, I may have already beaten the game but thank you so much for how you've handled giving info on this game. You're through, concise, and very kind and I feel like a wide range of ages is gonna be able to happily and easily understand more about Legends. Keep doin what you do!
(I will try to keep this spoiler free, so you can safely read my message!) The main important point I found about this choice however, is that the exclusive Pokéball (this game's equivalent of a master ball) looks kind of like a Cherish ball, thus it has a red-ish color. The game will use said ball specifically in relation to the plot; you will not be able to just own the ball and use it on whichever Pokémon you like. There this choice between Adaman and Irida matters if you care for aesthetics between Pokémon and the ball they are in; Depending on your choice here, one of the two respective Pokémon tied to the Pearl or Diamond clan will be contained within said ball. It is the Pokémon of the opposite clan to the one you picked which will be contained within this ball. I for instance picked Adaman, as I felt this would leave me to have the most aesthetically matching Pokémon contained in that particular ball. For the other Pokémon (the one tied to the clan whose side you pick), you can choose which ball you catch it in out of all the balls you generally use in the game.
So if i want dialga in the cool ball, i have to choose Irida?

The only lasting and somewhat important thing that chances is that, the legendary associated with the person you DO NOT chose gets caught in a unique pokeball.
Now I’m kinda wanting to do a second play though on a different profile because a unique pokeball sounds so cool

there are only 2 differences to consider in this decision
1-you normal fight (classic game style) the one you choose(dialga for adaman and palkia for irida), the other one is fought launching things like the noble pokemon
2- there is a special red pokeball that will catch the legendary of the one you didn't choose (the one you fight noble style)
even then, both legendaries do the same things if fought as frenzy style bosses, so at the end of the day all differences are aesthetics
after the fact the only difference will be the pokeballs so choose whatever you want, i choose irida because i wanted to fight dialga with my bare hands (and i like red ball in blue pokemon more than red ball in white pokemon)

It’s amazing. The theory of relativity being applied here: space-time being the reality of life. The fact of space and time expanding and contracting (like the space distortions, etc.) is actually in the theory of relativity. It’s religious implications and historical implications are the fact that two major religions were established and at conflict based on the one-sided conclusions (like in this game.) of the whole fact of reality.

The sequence of events you mentioned kind of reminds me of some of the story beats in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games. And that is all I will say for the sake of not spoiling things.

The "decision" only pertains to which Legendary you get to obtain first, and the other will be the one you catch automatically (after a round of peppering it with balms)...that's it! Choose whichever you want. Just keep in mind that the battle with either Origin Form is merely an appetizer for the Arceus encounter at the end of the game!

I picked adamant cuz i felt with his wisdom and gutso he could keep up with me. I felt like he wisend up by the end, and was much more mature than what he was at the start. While irida is capable as well, and it moved me to have her on such a defensive about my banishment, i feel she still has growing to do, much more than adaman. While i prefer to have neither of them joining me adaman was my pick. Plus dialga is dope!

The only thing I would add is which of the legendaries do you want in a special ball? If you would Dialga in a special ball choose the girl, if Palkia choose the guy.
Not a big issue but something that does change the icon of ball caught on a pokemon.
When they asked me to choose, I was at an absolute loss. I just didn't want anyone else to be mad at me. Ended up choosing Adaman, in line with my original choice for Diamond. Very glad Irida didn't get pissed lol
I chose very fast. Dialga has always been one of my favorite legends.
This choice was so HARD! I really liked both of them. They both quickly became some of my favorite characters in the series. I ended up choosing Adaman, but if I ever go start over and play through again (probably will, since I love the game so much) I will choose Irida.

I've just played the game like 5 days ago and haven't got to far from the start but I always thought that there will always be "choose your clan" scenario. I never worried cuz Austin has told us that we will be able to get complete the pokedex and caught every pokemon
When I got to this part and I had to choose, I went with Irida since from the first time that I seen her, Irida reminded me of Blanc/White Heart from the Hyperdimension Neptunia series like even when playing the game I kept referring to her as the Pokémon's version of Lowee's Goddess plus it gave me a chance to battle Palkia since I always battled Dialga since I picked up Brilliant Diamond but never really got to fight Palkia a whole lot in the main series outside of spin offs like Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky.
I played through this game a week early and it was so much fun, but this part was so jarring. I love Dialga way more than Palkia so I’m so mad I picked Adaman (no spoilers, but I would pick the opposite of the one you want more).
I chose Adamant simply because I felt like he helped more throughout the characters story especially in the beginning

Actually, while talking to the Professor after quelling the 5th Noble does force you to return to the village, you can leave again. Talking to the professor will pull you back to the village every time without the option to stay where you are, but you can keep heading back out until you report having quelled the noble to the commander.
