Lovely lady and a fine actress. Watching Alexis Smith in The Horn Blows at Midnight (1945) at the moment. When I was much younger it really seemed that Alexis Smith was always on the popular daytime shows of the '60s and early-'70s and sometimes with her husband, Peter Gunn actor, Craig Stevens. What a fantastic era in TV when Steve Allen was on every afternoon along with Mike Douglas (had to be home sick from school to catch Mike's show) and Merv Griffin. Live entertainment every day from the folks we are nostalgic for today. I highly doubt there are any episodes of any of those shows available for purchase but it would really be a walk down memory lane revisiting these classics.

@@Top10Charts3978 My honor. My mother clued me in to who Alexis Smith was back then. "She's married to Craig Stevens who played Peter Gunn on the TV show."; my mother's words. We had the Peter Gunn Soundtrack album at home and I later bought a copy for myself in 1985. Such nostalgia.

I see that Alexis Smith was born in Penticton. That is in British Columbia right near where my mother grew up. I have seen 15 Alexis Smith movies. My favourites are Gentleman Jim, The Constant Nymph, Conflict, The Two Mrs. Carrolls, The Young Philadelphians, San Antonio, Rhapsody in Blue, and Split Second. I will have to try and find Whiplash and The Turning Point.
Favourite posters and stills are for Gentleman Jim, The Constant Nymph, The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane, Rhapsody in Blue, The Two Mrs. Carrols, Conflict, The Turning Point, San Antonio, The Eternal Sea, Split Second, Night and Day, The Adventures of Mark Twain, Montana, and Stallion Road.

Hi Flora, so how British is British Columbia? Do they have pubs and watch soccer on TV? ;) Your tally of 15 is a lot better than my 5. Favorites are Dive Bomber and Gentleman Jim. I've also seen Montana, San Antonio and Tough Guys. Thanks as always for watching and commenting on these videos, much appreciated. Glad you liked the posters and stills. Friday's girl has a strong Hitchcock connection.

British Columbia is full of bars (pubs) and we watch soccer, hockey, curling, and other sports on TV. Victoria, our capital city, is more British than the rest of the province.

Thanks for that info Flora, I didn't know how British parts of Canada were, they're probably interested in the upcoming Royal wedding too. I think the US is interested considering the bride is American.

A beautiful actress that is barely mentioned these days. #27 Montana...an ok western....reteaming with Flynn #25 Night and Day...one of the worst Cary Grant movies #23 Tough Guys...seen it...do not remember her part #18 San Antonio...a better Flynn western than #27 #12 Dive Bomber the first of many Flynn/Smith movies #5 The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane...seen it....but like Tough Guys do not remember her role #3 The Young Philadelphans....good drama #1 Gentleman Jim....good that a Flynn/Smith movie finished 1st. So that is 8 of 30....granted two maybe should not be counted. Good video. Voted up and shared at UltimateMovieRankings.com

Hi Bruce, Alexis was paired with Flynn in a number of films, it was good to see Gentleman Jim at no.1. I haven't seen that film in ages, time to give it another spin. Maybe a double bill with Kirk Douglas 'Champion'.
I think she played Burt Lancaster's friend in Tough Guys and his buddy Kirk was with a younger girl, it's been a while since I saw that film too. You beat my tally I only managed 5 out of 30, Flora has seen 15. Thanks again for the vote, share and comment, always appreciated.
