well.. dekho beta.. when it comes to placement reports, we teachers (most) are also in the same position as you kids.. even we don't know how much is true and how much is inflated.. even the students inside don't know the complete reality most of the times because they only get to know the CTC of themselves or their direct friends, for the complete detail, even they rely on the placement report only... (only the students in the placement committee of a college know the complete picture) which is why it's very rarely that we get to know the exact picture of a private b-school...

Sir I have one more question.
I have wasted my life in preparing for govt job exams.
This is my second gap year. I want to prepare for CAT 2023 and OMETs. Can below average students like me crack CAT with sheer hardwork and dedication.
Next year will be my second gap year. Should I prepare for CAT with job or can I prepare for it with internships and certifications.

coming to drop year.. please don't waste your time in internships and certificates... just focusing on CAT will be much better.. but if you can, then yes, get a job and prepare on the side.. because work-ex actually helps... other things don't.. that's just another way for people to make money off innocent students' desperation..

Sir, nmims could also be a tier-1 college, looking at their curriculum and placements they are one of the best colleges in india
which college in the Tier I list can it compete with beta?? I worked in the industry for 7 years and to be honest, it does not enjoy the type of brand name that old IIMs do or SP Jain or MDI do...
Maybe in the finance sector it does... but definitely not in healthcare, consulting, FMCG or IT.. people respect it.. maybe like they respect Symbiosis.. or a new IIM... but it's nowhere near an XLRI or IIFT or FMS... so, I disagree...
Over period I have come to realise that students evaluate a college based on very very irrelevant factors.. MICA, for example, is not respected by students much.. I routinely get students who don't even fill its form but fill IMT Gzbd.. but you go in the industry and in the core marketing fields that college gets so much respect you can't imagine.. even Tier I colleges don't compete with its image in creative marketing and brand management.. Same goes for TISS.. Students talk about it as if it is just another college for HR.. but in many sectors that college is valued more than old IIMs..

XIMB and IMT cannot be in the same category as baby IIMs/TAPMI.
XIMB/IMT get 80% tier 1 profiles whereas the other colleges in the same list get tier 2 roles.
agree mere bachhe.. but then I would have to create a separate category just for 4-5 colleges like XIMB, IMT, IMT and IIM Nagpur etc.. which didn't make much sense to me.. so, I clubbed them all in one final category... anyhow for XIMB and IMT as well, it's not like the whole college irrespective of their specialization gets good companies and roles.. only students from certain specializations get good roles in these colleges too.. other students get the same outcome as that in baby IIMs or TAPMI or others.. so though the difference is there, it's not as big as people think..

Nahi Sir the gap is quite big.
Not few but 80% of students in XIMB/IMT get tier - 1 roles along with the top 15 colleges which means the company considers XIMB/IMT/SCMHRD in their flagship Management Trainee program.
They are also eligible in 90% case comps.
The same cannot be said about TAPMI where 90% roles are Tier 2 roles and they aren't eligible in most case comps.
So very significant difference. XIMB/IMT/SCMHRD/New IIMs all come in the same category. NM/SIBM/MICA/IIM Shillong a little better.
Average of XIMB is 20lpa and that of TAPMI/FORE is 15.
5 lacs difference in average with almost the same batch size is huge.

there are not many, to be honest... but some of the colleges in the top 2 lists will be your best shot.. even amongst them there are some who specialise in Finance, like IIM Indore or NMIMS.. but that you can finalise later.. for the time being, you target should be top 2 lists...

IBS is not a good b-school anymore beta... it used to be.. but sometime 12-14 years ago their focus shifted and they started increasing the intake and opening more campuses.. now, they don't offer the type of placements they used to and they don't offer the type of environment they used to...
So, I will place them outside the list of b-schools worth joining.. but if you have to absolutely do your MBA this year and you are content getting a starting level job after it (because you want to start your career), then it's not a bad option.. I don't know which campus is better than the others because I have stopped tracking the institute for some years now..
Sir welingkar is doing better and growing than kj somaiya and somaiys fees are also 20 lakhs so why kj in the list and not welingkar
well.. I haven't been tracking welingkar for 3 years now beta... but before that I had been tracking that college for good 6-7 years and it was on a steady decline.. while KJ has maintained its consistency very very well and still sees many of the old big brands during the placement season that used to come when it was in top 30 of the country...
Welingkar... well, I can't say that about them.. back when I had done my MBA it used to be many people's dream college and at one point of time it was in competition to become the next big name college... but then.. the college regressed year on year and I have seen that decline myself...
if the college has picked up again, then I am not aware beta... but last I checked.. it wasn't doing great... that's why it's not the list..

but comparatively, GIM is better...
to be honest, in both colleges, most opportunities will come from the IT sector and very few core marketing profiles will come.. but comparatively, it should be more in GIM..
still, have a look at the recent placement report once.. I haven't followed them both for 2-3 years now...
@@PerennialLearner sir actually, the avg placement fig is more or less the same, GLIM shows that 20% of the job offers are for Sales and Marketing, whereas this data isn't available in GIM's placement stats yet, hence was unable to decide, kind of a tossup between the 2...

Now, even in IT, your job will be very different from that of an Engineer.. you will be either in consulting or business analysis or some other type of client-facing/managerial role.. but most of the good opportunities will be in the field of IT only..
There will be opportunities in other fields as well.. but they will be comparatively few...

Well, I would suggest IIM K beta... there's not much difference between the two colleges, to be honest.. so, why go with a new program and not stick to the old one? That's it...

both are good colleges worth joining beta... if you do not have preference regarding your specialization, I would suggest you go with SIIB.. but since I do not have in depth knowledge about SIBM-B, I will try to enquire about it with some of my colleagues and try to get an opinion..

well, beta... FORE and KJ are about the last colleges that I recommend to students.. so I can understand your dilemma.. they are good colleges worth joining but they are borderline...
unfortunately, there is no easy answer to your question.. it entirely depends on one thing and one thing alone - how would you rate your performance in CAT this year objectively.. did you overperform, underperform or performed to the level of your ability..
Being objective is very very very crucial.. I have seen a lot of students getting 90 percentile by a lot of help from luck but then instead of accepting that luck played a role, they start claiming that they 'believe' they can do better.. next year, they don't score even 70.. I had a student who had said no to IIM Indore because she wanted to go to ABC only.. next year, she did not calls from even new IIMs..
But I have seen the opposite happening as well.. just this year I had a student who converted the business analytics program of NMIMS but when he asked me if he should repeat, I confidently said - yes. Because I knew how much he had underperformed in CAT.. I taught him for a year.. I know his potential.. and I know that any other day, he could have scored 98+ easily.. but that day, his nerves ditched him and he ended up scoring less than 80..
So, being realistic and objective is important.. I can not tell you if you should join FORE or not because I didn't teach you and I don't know your potential.. only you do.. so, do that analysis and then take a call..

Institute - well, dekh.. IMS Mumbai is good.. (it's their head office, so they have all the best faculty there) but yes.. there will be a lot of students enrolling there..
So consider them.. evaluate them.. (beyond that, if there is any good small coaching institute there, I don't know)
if you don't feel like joining them or don't find anyone else good... then yeah.. come to me.. I will be starting a new batch in January, you can consider that.. If you find it costly, or can't join because of the low intake.. then you can consider Takshzilla, Elite's Grid or Patrick 100 among online institutes.. they are all good..
Sir can you suggest best college amongst IRMA,NIRMA,IIT Jodhpur, IIT Dhanbad if my interest is marketing and considering ROI and College reputation
beta.. NIRMA is an outlier in the list that does not belong on the level of the other three.. keeping it aside.. IRMA is the best among the lot in terms of Brand name.. in the field of marketing in Tier III towns and rural areas, it has such a strong reputation that it can compete with top institutes..
In terms of ROI, obviously IIT Dhanbad is the best and Jodhpur and Dhanbad are not too far from each other in terms of brand value (in that they both have very little brand value)
so, either IRMA or Dhanbad will be my choice.. (I would personally choose IRMA over the rest because of my personal inclination towards the field of rural marketing and supply chain, but that's because of my inclination. Your choice can differ.. think)
Sir is KJ Somaiya worth joining?
I have two options- XISS (HR) and KJ Somaiya core.. which one do you think would be better for HR?
han han.. KJ is fine to join.. it's not as good as it used to be.. but is still a pretty decent college which provides some good options to its students..
If you are thinking of repeating, then it's a different thing altogether and that requires a different level of analysis and much more information.. but if you want to join a b-school this year, KJ is a very good last option..
Sir, Can you please review SIDTM also? This is my last year to get into an MBA. I have to choose between GLIM Gurgaon and SIDTM
beta SIDTM is very very good and better than GLIM Gurgaon.. the only problem is (and it's a big problem) that SIDTM will restrict your options and will restrict you to the Telecom industry only.. which means that your career options will remain limited throughout your life..
If you don't mind that.. it is good.. if you would prefer to keep your options open even if you have to compromise a little on the money.. then GLIM Gurgaon is better..

if you don't have any preference of specialization, then go with IIM Indore beta... NITIE is amazing but only for Operations... Indore will give you a chance to explore other fields as well..

NIBM should have been in the 4th list beta.. because the college is actually quite good for people who want to go to the banking sector.. It's a niche college and in that niche it is doing quite a good work..

very very few beta... but.. to be honest.. those who pursue entrepreneurship don't need any college's name behind them... most new-age entrepreneurs I have met were not even bothered about going to a b-school.. they just started.. others who did their MBAs didn't think about their college name.. they just started a few years after their MBA irrespective of the college...
businesses don't depend on college name and brand and real entrepreneurs don't depend on anyone else to provide them opportunities.. those who do.. well, I haven't seen them starting something.. only planning things.. and dreaming things..

Sir Between glim pgpm and iim bg which one to join?
GLIM PGPM without a doubt beta... Bodhgaya has the IIM tag but what will you do with that if the college doesn't provide you good opportunities after your MBA?? Other than people in your neighbourhood, nobody will care about the IIM tag because the industry people will always ask - which IIM? And the moment you say - Bodhgaya, the tag will go for a toss. The industry doesn't think of Bodhgaya as a brand. So, in the job market it won't matter.
GLIM on the other hand will provide you very good real opportunities right after your MBA, and will save you one year too. So, go with it.

It's a good college beta.. it's actually making a lot of buzz and in just 3 years it is putting out numbers that can compete with ISB and IIM A,B,C.. (Same with BITSOM as well) and the information seems to be sort of reliable.. obviously things would be a little inflated (most private b-schools do that) but it would still be worth joining if you get selected...
I don't know anyone who studies there personally, so I can't say anything more.. but last year a very good student of mine had applied there and got rejected.. so I think it won't be that easy to get into that college either...

Sir converted iim udaipur and vgsom ....what to choose pl guide...1 year gap for upsc ...had a Jon with 12lpa so can I get around 20 lpa in these clgs
beta vaise to dono kaafi equal se hain (figures wise) but my suggestion will be IIM Udaipur.. It has been growing in brand name a lot.. so should be very beneficial in future..
Yes, you can get 20 lpa in these colleges but you will have to be in the top 25% of the batch for that... now that will depend on your hardwork during your MBA and a little bit of luck as well..
sir what about NM bangalore, LBSIM, BIMTECH..i think they are good than Nirma???
Well, to be honest, not better than NIRMA beta but yes, they would be on par with it.. all in the same bracket now.. NIRMA enjoys a very good brand name in Gujrat which most people don't know... but yes, they should be in the last list of special mentions as well..

It's a good institute beta.. but it entirely depends on what other options you have. It has deteriorated a little in the past. I will say it should be placed slightly below or on par with KJ Somaiyya in your priority list.

first of all, congrats mere bachhe.. for converting some good colleges..
either SIIB or SIOM beta.. entirely depends on your interest.. if you have a knack for numbers go to SIOM because operations is a little number heavy (in comparison to other streams) if you are interested in world business, rules and policies.. then go to SIIB..
both the colleges are at the same level.. my suggestion will be against joining SIDTM since it restricts to you one industry only..
Sir should I go with elites grid or with career launcher offline course in Amritsar as we have no other academy online
dekh bachhe.. My vote will go to Elite's Grid... but, to be honest, I don't know how CL Amritsar is and that's why my vote is going to EG.. CL Amritsar might be good.. you will have to do your research... if you feel they genuinely work hard wit students, well, then join it.. otherwise, why take risk?

yes beta ji.. it does and it creates quite some difference as well..
But that doesn't mean that Freshers don't get selected.. You can get selected as a fresher as well, just that you will have to score 2 percentile extra in the exam and will have to master your subjects for the interview process..

we can't compare it new IIMs or a private b-school like IMT Ghzbd or XIMB.. but it is good and worth joining..
Good afternoon Sir. May i request you to please provide me best IPM BBA + MBA program run by institution or university other than Indore rohtak Ranchi etc .
sir.. the IPM programs run by IIM Rohtak, Ranchi and Indore, along with the one run by IIFT are good.. there are programs offered by IIM Bodhgaya and Jammu as well but they are not worth joining, in my opinion... similarly some private b-schools have started offering these programs as well, but they might not be that good either.. (for most, no data is available since their first batch has not passed out yet)
Hoping a convert from imt G,iim rohtak and ximb. Cant decide between these.

Leaning towards marketing but also considering IIT Roorkee as my background is in computers and will enjoy a role in that sector.
@@Pix3lBwell, cross XIMB surely then.. IIT Roorkee is a good option.. IIM Rohtak is good too.. will give you some benefit in the long run... I think you can strike out IMT as well.. even though it's good for Marketing but we have to consider the long term brand value as well.. that matters... eventually both IMT and IIM R will get you sales roles only.. so then Rohtak should be preferred...
now, to be honest.. between IIT Roorkee and IIM Rohtak, Rohtak is a better choice for someone who doesn't know what he wants to do in future.. but if you are sure that you want to make a career in the tech field then yes, Roorkee will be a better place to go..

well, it depends on your profile beta.. If you have a job, then you can target another attempt.. nothing wrong in it..
but if you had taken a year drop and are planning to take another, then I will say it will be better to take SIBM Pune because the college is top notch without a doubt..
If you hadn't taken a year drop but are planning your first one right now.. well, then it is very tricky.. and I won't like to comment without knowing about your professional and academic background..
@@PerennialLearner sir have taken a drop it is was my 3rd cat attempt.... graduated in 2021 in bba and currently teaching as a profession .. acads - 80 , 67 , 75 ....also mostly targeting marketing or hrm as specialisation...i also have calls from xlri bm and hrm but have only 96% in xat so don't will convert or not....have CAP calls also. @@aniketagrawal9970 arre vaah.. dekho bachhe.. if a college has given you a call, then it means they want to evaluate you and you have equal chances of converting the call.. if you do not convert it, don't blame your XAT score, blame your interview performance.. it will only mean that you couldn't floor the professors in the interview room..
rest, give it your all in CAP and XLRI interview rounds.. this can be decided later.. right now your entire focus should be on converting many many colleges..

NIBM Pune isn't there beta, and there are one or two more... As I said.. there are 3-4 colleges that I have missed out in the list.. when I update it again, I will include them.. thanks for bringing it to my notice..

beta.. there is no comparison between the two colleges.. JBIMS is much above GLIM.. so, you should choose JBIMS without thinking much..

if you are planning to do it from a good b-school, then yes, it is.. for that matter not only is it important, at most places, it is compulsory. For your own overall development into a business leader as well, it is very very important that you stay away from the comfort of your home in a hostel..
otherwise how will you perform your job properly.. If your company tells you, we need your expertise in some other city, you will not go? Or if they say - you need to visit another city to have multiple client meeting over the next 1 month, you will decline? And how will learn proper team management, if you are scared of living among unknown people your whole life?
So yes.. it is very very important.

well, congrats beta.. Shillong is amazing.. but it entirely depends on you if you are happy going to amazing or want to repeat because amazing is not good enough for you and you want the absolute best only.. :)
I have known people who rejected IIM K/L/I because they were adamant - either IIM A/B/C or nothing.. (never understood this thinking but I have known such people)
So, basically, it's an individual choice.. and it entirely depends on how you rate your CAT performance and what job you currently have..
Of the people I have talked about up there (the ones that rejected K/L/I) I have known both type.. those who appeared for CAT again and converted IIM A/B/C and those who appeared again but could not get even a new IIM next time..
So, being realistic is very important.. Since I don't know anything about you, I can't really offer any advise here whatsoever.. it has to be purely your own analysis and purely your own decision..

well, it entirely depends on how you think your CAT actually went beta.. truth is, every year a lot of people underperform due to sheer bad luck and a lot of people overperform dur to sheer good luck... both 90% people in both the sets are blind enough to not honestly acknowledge the role of luck in their performance and simply lie to themselves by saying - I deserved exactly this score.. And so, in the long run, they suffer..
Be in the remaining 10%.. those who are objective enough to analyse their performance and say - I have overperformed/underperformed this year.. It will make your decision very easy.. and all your confusion will go away in just one second..
So, did you underperform or overperform or scored exactly what you deserved?
@@PerennialLearner Not even close to my best score. Just one day before cat I got 88 percentile in Aimcat mock of time but scored miserably in cat. After answer key came I got to know that I didn't even read questions properly. Xat score salvaged somewhat my year and scored 94 percentile in xat and then only got shortlisted for above mentioned colleges.

beta.. FMS BHU is not good to be honest.. My suggestion will be to go to IIM Bodhgaya instead.. unless you absolutely do not want to take the healthcare management course..

Maybe BHU Was able to increase its final package.. but was it because of more variable pay or was it because good profiles and good companies started coming to the college? Money should not be the criteria to evaluate placements after all.. there are enough colleges that will get you a sales role with a salary of 10 lpa but is that why you are doing your MBA?? If yes, then go ahead.. if no, then think more and research more deeply..

they are pretty decent last options beta... all 3.. I would say LBSIM is the best of these 3.. but all are pretty fine...

It's a wonderful option beta... between the two I would suggest IRMA, but if you want to pursue international business as a specialization, then obviously you should go for that..

Excellent.. IMT is known for its marketing.. I will say on par with some of the new IIMs.. only behind them because of the slightly extra brand value that the new IIMs offer..

well, I worked in the industry as a consultant for 7 years beta and in my time there I worked for clients in healthcare, finance and taxation, and IT/ITES, and I was in constant touch with friends working in other sectors.. so, trust me, other than the finance sector, it does not enjoy the type of brand name that students think it does...
Plus, I have quite a few students studying the college.. and the consistent report from inside has been that the bottom 50% of the batch struggles (specially non-finance people) to get core roles..
Hence, the doubt... maybe you have other source of information and knowledge to base your opinion on.. maybe you are an ex-student of NM or maybe know a faculty there.. I don't know.. but I have based my opinion on my source of information and experience.. it can differ from yours.. nothing wrong in that..
You could've pointed out factual errors and argued in a cogent mature manner instead of giving a blanket statement devoid of any kind of logical argument whatsoever.. that would've been helpful..
@@PerennialLearner no I am not any of the above u have mentioned but since I have started my preparation for cat, every single coach of mine , utuber , reviewer has constantly rated nm above all new iims, mica , scmhrd. Not a single outlier. So when I came across ur video, I was completely perplexed. I was thinking of joining nmims core this yr ( not a finance guy). My other best calls are scmhrd and ximb bm. Do give an opinion where should I join
@@youtubebanme7179 And there is a reason behind that beta... Almost all institutes and teachers give their first weightage to money (average salary), then to ROI, then to location (to assess future placement capabilities) and then to roles.
I do not follow that.
I give the first priority to roles, which is why I have placed MICA so high. Next year I would put it in my topmost list because role wise (in marketing), that college consistently leaves behind old IIMs as well. But salary wise, nope, not at all.
I give second priority to equal opportunities. Basically how many students in a batch are getting a good package or a good role. If a college's average package is 25 but the bottom 40% got roles that you could've gotten from a Tier III college as well, I would rate it low. And if a college's average package is 18 but 90% of the batch is regularly placed in roles worthy of a Tier I college, I would rate it high. Very high.
I do not consider ROI and location in my analysis at all. ISB's ROI is trash.. but I would rate it above old IIMs any day. IIM A is in Ahmedabad.. that never stops it from attracting the best of the companies from Mumbai and Delhi. So, I do not consider the above two factors in my evaluation ever.
Which is why my rating is very very different from other people's.
Now, coming to your specific dilemma - my vote will go to SCMHRD beta. NM is great but the competition for good roles inside that college is just as tough as CAT. SCMHRD is slightly below NM in terms of package, opportunities or brand value; there is very little difference between the two.. but overall, I consider the college to be better than NMIMS for people who are not trying to make a career in Finance. From NM, there will be a chance that you will get a decently higher salary than what you get in SCMHRD but there will also be a chance that you will get a significantly lower salary than what you get in SCMHRD. Better rewards, but more risk.
If you are the risk taking type.. you can take it as a challenge and go to NM. If you would like to minimise that, SCMHRD it is. This is my analysis. You can discuss this with your teacher or mentor or whoever you've been talking to, to hear what they have to say on the matter.
XIMB is wonderful but does not offer the type of college environment that NM or SCMHRD do. So, it restricts learning and stops you from enjoying the last two years of your education.. since you have other options, I won't recommend it.
