I appreciate the point at the end about how excuses for why flaws happen don't actually change whether flaws should be evaluated or whether they affect one's appreciation of art.
10:05 i don't like how the live action ice spikes scene makes it seem like katara completely gave up, the attack just feels super avoidable. she just flails around a bit then stands in shock as the spikes move in to trap her. on the other hand, the animated version shows the attack as very fast, unavoidable, and final (especially since she just got up) and she looks pissed and struggles as soon as she realizes she's trapped
