Never put all your eggs in one basket
It sounds complicated, if I’m screwing around on my phone why not just use Apple Pay
I think the idea is that you set up the rules with different cards on the Visa app, then you can physically use one Visa card and it will automatically charge the card that transaction corresponds to based on how you've set it up
Definitely not looking forward to such a system!
Setting up a CBDC mentality. All PSYOPS.
This is so they get control over who they can sell your purchase info to in ONE SINGLE BUNDLE, than how it exists now- tied to disparate entities. Just wait for the new terms and conditions. They are not in this business for our benefit/ charity, are they?
I hate all of this. More ways to track and collect your data, easier way to lose everything if one thing gets hacked. I guess I'm getting old but an ai monitoring my behavior to decide if my purchase is allowed,, is creepy as hell to me
I agree with you. It's sick !!!
Its a no from me 🤷🏾♂️
I like the physical card.
Lots of people don’t use digital wallets and don’t have any desire to do so.
No way ANY of my cards are going on my phone. So now that we have to spend 5 minutes while the idiot in front of me is trying to figure out TAP TO PAY< we will have more people selecting and de selecting, forgetting passwords, moms name etc. This will be a NIGHTMARE
VISA’s version of the Curve Card?
Without numbers.
I can hear the customer complaints from using the wrong card account already...

Support! I manually block my card number with electrical tape except last 4 digits anyway, prevents people from taking pics when they take my card
How exactly is this better than Apple Pay or Google pay?
I was thinking the same. I am already managing my credit cards on my iPhone and my Samsung phone.
I believe as an all in one, if you have a Visa card from any company, then it'll work. I have a Visa card that I can't apply to my digital wallet. So, this would allow me to use it digitally as a tab to pay without needing that specific physical card.
Apple Pay isn’t accepted every where but visa is
@trilogy3x if you have older samsung with MST then samsung pay should work everywhere.
Not at all
Easier for fraudsters and stolen phones
The first thing that comes to mind is: if the cards no longer have a user-facing number, how will online purchases work? I have yet to make a purchase online that didn't involve me typing in my credit card number and security code at some point, even if that was just when signing up for an account. Getting rid of the number breaks "backwards compatibility" in a big way.
Hopefully it doesn't reduce competition among issuers. As usual, always helpful vlog. Interesting background music.
I don’t like it!
I see this opening the door for banks and eventually the government to exercise more control over us all and our spending habits. I believe that soon our days of playing the points game will be gone.
@@docholliday3043 No this is slowly moving to using a digital wallet. Make the cards more inconvenient and lose what makes them special like designs to disassociate you to them. Then well why use a card when you can use an app? It only needs every single permission to your data
@@docholliday3043I'm sure you see everything that way.
@@docholliday3043Spot on!
Mark of the beast right around the corner.
How many times do we have to go through this! It is never a good idea for the consumer for the powers that be to consolidate that power exclamation point keep multiple cards not all eggs should go in one basket
Isn’t this just Apple Pay and the Apple Card? I don’t see much difference other than Apple wallet can hold all the cars from all networks and you can choose what you want while this one locks it down to the visa network. A bit late to try to change the game when Apple has what it has, I’d rather stick with Apple.
We give these companies way too much control over our lives.
Well, what I like is a card not having the numbers on it and everything else but I don’t like one card with four different bank accounts on it
Putting everything in one basket... Visa needs a financial advisor.
Sounds like a multipass from the movie Fifth Element
Not sure how this is better than having all cards available on your phone, which is safer and faster. Also, the Apple card has been number-free since its inception, so nothing new there.
I wonder if itll be like the relationship banking. Get one card that matches your highest. Freedom level, saphhire level, etc.
So instead of using tap to pay with my phone I can use it on a card but have it restricted to 1 out of 3 networks and still have to use tap to pay from my phone for the other 2 networks? Pass.
Hmm, interesting. I like selecting a CC when I want to use it, not having it selected it for me. Various reasons (monitoring utilization, BILT on 1st, etc.).
They have no interest in what the mass peasants want or think and the peasants can't do a thing about it.
As an IT professional, I don't trust this but see the transition as inevitable (over a long period of time.)
going to be weird say with Chase - since the Sapphire line and Freedom Unlimited are Visa, but the Freedom Flex is a Mastercard.
Curve already does all of this, across banks and cc companies
I’m curious to see how many more custom credit card companies appear when this new system takes off since there won’t be any fear I need to replace the card in total just the number itself
Most definitely not for me!
This is what Curve does right now.
It's basically the Curve card. I would have loved Curve if it actually worked.
We have a curve card for the master card
So Apple/Google wallet?
I also don't like this. I'm sure most people here have visa , MasterCard, Amex, and/or discover. So just having a Visa app is kind of pointless
Went to Italy 🇮🇹 for 2 months
My cards wasn’t supposed to have transaction fees
But they do
Discovery
Capital one
Etc
All charged
Plus on top of that all places charged an extra card fee so im paying for my own cash back .
If your card isn't supposed to have international fees just call them and tell them
Then you did something wrong as I have never had that problem in any country with any card that was truly a No Foreign Transaction Fee card. Just make sure you don't let the business run the transactions in dollars and instead keep it in euros. Almost always have to use Visa or MC in Europe and for me that it is Chase and Capital One. I have never seen anyone in Europe take Discover and almost no one takes Amex, mostly large chain hotels from my experience. But I have never had any issue at all with Chase, Capital One, or Amex charging a foreign transaction fee. Only time I ever paid any type of transaction fee was at an ATM to get some cash, but it was no different than any ATM transaction fee in the US.
I mean most people don't have 10 plus credit cards, so this is only an issue for credit card enthusiasts.
I'm not a enthusiast and I have 12
Uhhh 15+ including debit 🫣
@@Manaleyjrur not an enthusiast ur just watching a credit card enthusiast channel and have 12 credit cards
@@Manaleyjr Lmfao, bro, you absolutely are an enthusiast. Get your head out of your ass.
Apple has been doing this for almost 5 years. How is this news?
My FSA card is Old School. Embossed numbers and only a magnetic strip. No RFID chip. No Tap-to-Pay. I think all my bank credit and debit cards have chips, and some have TTP.
They're copying the Curve card minus its best feature: go back in time.
Not interested it’s boring without the physical card
....1st) #'s are used online to make a personal purchase NOT a public purchase!
2)at home on personal computer, stick your card in the wall to make payment please !
3) different cards used for Different things are our choices to use since we pay the fees!
4) Population financial control, Human Population control
....need I say more, didn't think so lol
What could go wrong.
It's the same as my mobile wallet
Sounds pretty good to me
I want the banks to go a step further. I have 5 citi cards, strata premier, 2 custom cash, double cash, and rewards plus. If you are gonna give me a card that links all of them, then remove me having to select what card I want to use and just let me set the categories for each card spend. I would rather have my cards and physically take them out if the alternative was having to go into the app and manually select them every time.
Sounds like a PITA
Seems like Ali-Pay.
chip and pin are a thing since the late 90s everywhere else
Doesn't mean many people don't prefer it.
It sounds like a big headache. I don’t like it. I’ll have to start using cash more often. After all, cash is still king.
I don't want visa knowing my bank accounts , plus it's a big security risk to have all that info in one place....I am not using it .
Visa already knows your bank account now
That's pretty cool, lot of more flexible features for the consumer. Unfortunately, this makes it so easy to steal so many lines of money through one account.
That’s what the biometrics are for lmao.
Wouldn't work for those of us who don't have smart phones.
3:46 You can't use credit card to gamble in a casino.
Just an example
This sounds like a horrific idea.....
So Visa basically is doing what Brazilian banks do since the 90’s
Our cards usually have credit and debit on just one card, it present both functions to the terminal where the user/clerk select what to use.
The norm is asking but some clerks doesn’t pay attention or wants to pay lower fees and always select debit instead of credit, that’s why I got 2 cards, one pure credit and other pure debit, and have some insurance of not getting charged on the wrong card by other person mistake.
Cards without number aren’t anything new, but I like seeing it becomes the default, on my cards I disable non-present cards to prevent someone with a fraudulent terminal saving my card details and using it to on-line buying.
My on-line buys are on virtual credit cards.
Not the same, we can use our debit card as debit or credit also. This is one access point for multiple completely separate banks who use visa as their products
@@hardchooligan you misunderstood me.
Brazilian debit cannot be used as credit, we have a credit card and a debit on the same plastic, but are different things.
Most bank give you a debit card with the credit function but if you didn’t contract it, it simple didn’t work as credit.
I doubt you can put cards from different issuers together, probably will only work on card from the same issuer.
Like get a Chase credit card and also enabling the debit function of a chase account on it.
I really don’t see a Bank of America debit also allowing a Chase debit on their card.
Can't say I like the sound of this. I like my wallet full of cards.
I like this idea. I have several different Visa cards I don’t want to carry with me all the time. This would also be great for sock drawered cards.
Will they gather info on you spending habits and sell them to people in marketing so they can target you with all the thing you do not want. Ben
Theres no need to be worried.. do you guys remember when they announced to roll out chip and pin cards in the US? Still now pin required 😂😂
I'd like this more room in my wallet and a super credit card
I guess the hackers will also be studying along to see how they can continue their stealing 😅
Why they just make a hologram credit card that would be nice to have. I had friend tell me once you can put a lot of information onto a crystal rock
@TheCreditShifu Curve already has this, with GBiT and Smart Rules and a numberless card..
Why does this look and feel dystopian?
Hummm
This seems very dangerous and confusing
This is a terrible idea. I hope it doesn't get implemented.
It’s called the Apple Wallet…..
You will learn Vietnamese?
sounds like a terrible idea.
I hate Apple Pay and all digital wallets. Again, trying to make us all dependent on phones.
So curve
Overly complicated for the elderly. I as well as my friends do not have smart phones.
My kitchen phone has been perfectly good for over 40 years.
Except for the possibility of a marriage of governmental & corporate Big Brotherism watching over everything you spend and everywhere you've been, I'd like one card to synchronize my Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover accounts together in one fell swoop.
I hate this
FINALLY
