- One of the enduring debates that has yet to be defined is which decade of music reigns supreme: 80's or 90's? Our goal is to settle that debate through our reaction video channel while also delving into the music (and videos) spanning across all decades from the 1950’s through today. Our channel is all about enjoying the experience, with no second takes or edits.
From the outset, our aim was to craft something distinct and refreshingly unique. We didn't want to limit ourselves to mere reactions to music; instead, we aspire to share stories, life experiences, and extend an invitation to our family, friends, and fans to be a part of this experience.
Presently, we're publishing multiple videos each week, often posting daily. As our channel and subscriber base continue to elevate, we aspire to produce content even more frequently.

Jon Bon Jovi dubbed Perry “the Voice”
The keyboard solo at the end was to introduce their new keyboard player Jonathan Cain (prior keyboard player and founding member of Journey Gregg Rolie got burnt out from touring and retired. Jonathan Cain played a huge role in the "Escape" album and beyond). This entire concert / album (Live in Houston - 1981) rocks!

I saw them live on this very Tour. GREATNESS. Unreal how good they were and Loverboy as well. I feel blessed to have been there. Journey is one of the greatest of all-time.
That's so awesome.. wish I had seen Journey perform live with Steve Perry. When I did see them (years ago) it was with Arnel Pineda as lead vocals. It was still a great show and even better that Heart and Cheap Trick performed as well.

His voice is just amazing.
That's the one and only Steve Perry. And your wish came true about a month and a-half ago. Billboard did a poll on who was the greatest rock band singer ever. Steve won by 68% of the votes. He left Journey in the late 80s. He is now 74 and still performs on numerous projects occasionally. And he is still receiving numerous awards to this day from numerous organizations for songs that he wrote or co-wrote including his song 'Don't Stop Believing' which was inducted into 'The Library of Congress National Registry' in 2022. That's a really big deal. But yes, he is still somewhat active and is the nicest guy ever. Looks like others also brought you up to date so I'll end it here.

My first Journey album was titled 'Next.' It was the one before Steve joined to be on vocals on Infinity. Wow, he make a difference for the band.

This is an incredibly vocally challenging song, and Steve Perry recorded the studio version of this song in one take. As a Journey fan we love this video of this song Live in Houston The Escape Tour, the whole concert and Album are phenominal! You have no idea that there are so many amazing songs by Steve Perry with Journey that you would just find incredibly wonderful to listen to. Steve Perry co- wrote all of Journey's songs with piano and keyboardist Jonathan Cainand lead guitarist Neal Schon. Arnel Pineada grew up idolizing Steve Perry and worked hard to sound like him. He's a humble, sweet guy who grew up in the Philippines; lost his mother at an early age,was homeless after she died. Im so happy for his success, but no one will ever compare to the legendary soulful , emotive vocals of Steve Perry. The record lable was going to cut Journey, then Steve was hired as their new front man. He brought the succes to Journey. "The Voice." I recommend When You Love A Woman, Still They Ride, I'll be Alright Without You, Why Can't This Night go on Forever.
I always thought I was a big Journey fan, but I'm finding that I missed out on a lot of their music. I'll definitely have to check out their discography - there's obviously some incredible music beyond "don't stop believing", "open arms", "faithfully" and "separate ways" - those that I'm most familiar with.

Impressive song, impressive lyrics, impressive live performance. Steve Perry's voice is so clear and cristalline that it takes your breath away. His ability to achive so a high rank so beatifully is shoking. Neal Schon's guitar is so great and matches perfectly with Perry's voice, Cane's new keyboard in the band at that time, Steve Smith's amezing drums and Valery's bass. A parangon of virtuosity!! ❤🎼

Steve Perry is the Greatest vocalist of all time! There will never be anyone that comes close to Steve. He can do so much with his voice it’s just unbelievable and the fact that he has no vocal training at all! Listen to Journey Lovin Touchin Squeezin . Also look up Steve Perry /Forrest McDonald “It’s over. Forrest McDonald wrote the song and Steve sang it. It was before Steve joined Journey. It is amazing so silky smooth and sexy.

Eclipse came after Steve Perry left Journey. All of this Escape tour is well worth watching. Phenomenal.
That's right.. I believe Eclipse was the first album released with Arnel Pineda.

From what I read in a previous comment as far as the keyboard solo at the end; apparently was to allow Steve Perry to catch his breath.
Steve has stated that due to the vocals & that high range he has to hit, it is one of his most difficult songs he has to sing.

You HAVE to pay attention to the lyrics to understand the song. It's a song of desperation and hope, which you hear in the vocals, the guitar solos, and overall mood changes of the song. Very powerful. I appreciate you reacting to this masterpiece, however, I gave the video a thumbs down because you both looked bored and like you wanted to be anywhere but there doing anything but this. @@xgenreactions Steve's parents broke up when he was only seven, he never saw his father again till he was in his late fifties at least.
I think dear ole dad was in one of those 12 step programs where he had to track down all of the people he had wronged and give them a big hug.

Arnel does do a wonderful job of covering the Journey songs that are originally by Steve Perry. And I’ll bet Steve’s voice is top 5. (Generation X is poorly represented by this female listener)
