Steve perry just had his 73 birthday still got it ,best male vocalist I've ever heard hands down.
"The Voice" at his work . Steve Perry is the best male Voice in human History
100% truth right there! No one can touch him! "The Voice"!!! 😍😍😍
Steve Perry the best Malé voice ever no doubt about MR STEVE PERRY this group never be the same with out him
He's called The Voice for a reason!! His range is unbelievable & he recorded this song in 1 take! Steve started out playing drums & singing, he also plays bass & keyboards. Multi talented, he's missed but the gift God gave him & he shared with us will live on!! ❤
Love how you included the piano solo. It was placed there so Perry could rest. Never disregard the musicianship of the entire band. Godspeed!!
♥️
Awwwww, I love seeing them enjoying this! My beloved SP! Greatest singer I have ever heard!!! ❤😍
Steve left it ALL on the table...incredible vocalist!!
Greatest band in the world.
My favorite Steve Perry and Journey song. Steve came from a broken home and being an only child this was devastating to him. He has said this was the hardest song for him to sing, and a group of musicians voted it the hardest Journey song to try and cover. This was due to not only his vocal range, but also the genuine passion he brought to it because of personal experience. He was dubbed “ The Voice” by Jon Bon Jovi decades ago and it stuck. Try to continue to pull from that same ‘81 Houston concert Journey’s other songs, because for whatever reason Steve is better live than he even is recorded. Journey is a great band, but without Perry as their lead vocalist, it just isn’t the same in my opinion. Thank you for reacting to them.
According to his bandmate, Jonathan Cain, Steve Perry did the studio version of Mother Father in ONE take! Let that sink in! (Mind-blowing!)
This song is awesome steve kills on vocals 👏
I thought they've said this was based on Neil's family?
@@karenribaul9710 not certain, but it was certainly applicable to what I have read about Steve’s childhood; in fact, it could apply to how a whole lot of kids were raised, sad to say.
Big Big song from probably the best singer ever…getting that ’reaction’
Unreal performance. Steve on a different level
Agreed!!!👍🏾
Oh lawd Journey!! That was from a live concert special they did in the Summit Arena in Houston, my home. I have that on VHS, DVD and now digital. The guitarist Neil Schon was a prodigy and learned under Santana. Neil is ridiculous period! Steve Perry got his voice straight from God! They all together make me crazy and always have. If you’ve never heard their live album from back in the day, check it out. It is not this show. To me, my brain can’t even compute how good they are. Mother/Father, check. Listen to the song Dixie Highway live, holy cow! Everything with Steve Perry is magic!!! 🙏🏼❤️
They sound like an orchestra… they have the stage set up with drums piano on either side with guitars in front. His vocals are the best.
FYI, like you mentioned that Steve was born to do this, but did you know early in his career when tragedy stuck his first band he gave up music and went to work at a Turkey farm fixing chicken & turkey coops? Then a few months passed and his demo from his original band Alien Project landed on Journey's managers desk and the rest they say is history.
And to top it off that was before auto tune and "fill in." Pure raw highly practiced music and vocals. ✌️
Fabuloso Steve!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Your assessment is awesome! Thank you!
He was nicknamed THE VOICE
Hello from Cody Wyoming! You guys are awesome keep it up🤠 you can never go wrong with Journey! Welcome to the rabbit hole
Sending Love All The Way To Cody Wyoming♥️☺️
Johnathan Cain on piano. He was in the Babys. Ross Vallery on bass. Neal Schon on guitar from Santana. Steve Smith on drums.
Peace friends!
💪💪💪✌️🤘🇨🇦
Walks like a lady live is really good too!
His father was a singer. Steve has great rhythm, he started out playing drums and he plays bass when writing songs. He can play a little piano. But neither him nor Neal (greatest guitarist) can read music.
Steve Perry recorded the studio version of that song in one take.
The next Journey song to hear is the obvious Still They Ride, live version March 1983, Tokyo.
The legend of the story is that Perry had the flu. You can see the heavy sweat as he makes his way through the song.
Knew subscriber loved your reaction ♥️ that's the one and only Steve the voice perry!!!!
Welcome To The Family♥️..And Yesss Steve Voice Is Out Of This World!!!
Good song
5:34 check out the high notes that Steve Perry hits. Music coaches go crazy praising it!
If this is your first taste of the great Houston concert from Journey. React to ...... 'Who's Cryin' Now, Escape, Lights/Stay Awhile, Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin', Line Of Fire and Wheel In The Sky'!!
I have always said ....... 'Mother Father' is a Masterpiece!! The way all band members performed is top notch!! Mother Father isn't perform for the whole 1981 Escape tour. Only certain cities got the pleasure to see it performed. And Houston is one of those cities!
And as for my guy Steve Perry, I've always said ...... 'The stage loves him, but his fans LOVE him MORE!!!'
Lol Most Definitely Told My Husband We Gotta Find More Journey Jams!!!! And You Came With A List!!! Lol I Love It! Thank You!!
@@MIxxEDREACTIONS0520 ... I haven't given you THE LIST YET!....lol....
@@reneeheknowsmyname6771 Lmbo!!!
@@MIxxEDREACTIONS0520 ...... Love it!! ...lol... Okay here are just a few songs from Classic Journey!!
Patiently (from The Midnight Special), Girl Can't Help It, I'll Be Alright Without You, Ask The Lonely, Winds Of March, Opened The Door, Just The Same Way (shared vocals with then Greg Rolie) Feelin' That Way (with Greg Rolie), Why Can't This Night Go On Forever, When You Love A Woman, Still She's Cries, Send Her My Love, Faithfully (if you haven't reacted to it yet), Still They Ride (studio version), The Party's Over, Message Of Love (audio only, there's video), People And Place (shared vocals with Neal Schon 'guitarist', live at Osaka 1980), Chain Reaction, Separate Ways (studio version it's longer than the video) and Any Way You Want It!!'
And this is just a 'short' list!!...lol...
The sonic-ity
It's said that the extended piano performance was to allow Steve's voice time to rest before the next song.
Amazing Steve Perry The voice 🎶🎶🎶
The song is about Steve's life. He was an only child and hid dad was an alcoholic and abusive. He's from a broken home
Actually, it was Neal Schon. Perry was an only child.
Steve Perry...The Voice
Listen to journey faithfully, still they ride, open arms, to late, and lights.
All awesome
If Aretha Franklin says he was the best she ever heard, that speaks volumes. That is mic drop. There was nobody better than her.
Great choice. Steve Perry, and Jorney are legend. I saw them live in 1979 in Oakland when I was 14. Amazing. Steve Perry sounded better live. Super soulful singer, super talented. One of the best singers in popular music history.
the end was a diff song... JC does that...
This might sound ridiculous, but Steve Perry wasn't a rock singer. He was an R&B singer in a rock band, and it worked. Compare his vocal styling to the late Sam Cooke, and you'll hear the parallels.
I never seen anyone see the keyboard solo after that Mother, Father track. Knowing Journey, Open Arms prob came immediately after lol
..... Nah, it was Who's Cryin' Now! 😊
@@reneeheknowsmyname6771 that would of been my second guess lol
@@Jihavoh777 ...lol....
This song was written in referrence to guitar player Neil Schon's broken family, substance issues and reconciliation with his family many years later.
My ex wife and my buddy in high school used to make fun of me for loving this band
Hej från Sverige. Perhaps someone already letting you know but this song "the voice" Steve Perry concider the hardest to sing live.. Just saying... HOW does he manage?? :)
soooo audio recorded from laptop speakers? That sucks.
You are doing yourselves an injustice by not using earbuds
If you want to hear a band with a singer whose voice is DIFFERENT, you have to check out RUSH. Singer Geddy Lee's voice is so unique that it polarizes the listeners into distinct love-it-or-hate-it factions. If you are unfamiliar with Rush, you should dive into what it arguably their biggest commercial hit song off of their most commercially successful album: "Tom Sawyer" from the album "Moving Pictures". I'd recommend you watch the official video, which shows this 3-man band in the studio recording the song. All 3 band members are masters of their instruments, and whether you like the vocals or not you'll appreciate the quality of the music!
Audio is terrible!!!! Laptop 💻 speakers 😅
you see white men can sing bros!!!!!
