  • There’s a record number of people on Cook County’s electronic monitoring program. But it’s not just the size that’s changing. The Cook County Sheriff’s office is rolling out new GPS ankle bracelets to help better track the people in its program.

    It's not the "monitoring" that's the problem, it's the PROSECUTOR! KIM FOX FOR PRISON 2020!

    We now live in a "guilty until proven innocent" society.
    The court of public opinion rules.
    Everyone merely charged with a crime now must immediately endure pre-adjudication punishment, regardless of the outcome.
    We should not be surprised coming from a criminal penal/justice system that can lock innocent people away in prison for 20+yrs and once a person is finally acquitted, they still have no recourse for damages against those who have wrongly accused and ruined a fellow man's life.
    I often wonder if we just ruining more and more lives in the pursuit of "protecting" another.

    I had a ankle monitor with a bad battery and I lived in a area with bad cell reception...Basically I had to stay plugged into a wall 24/7 to keep the thing on...So now all the people that tried to take my freedom away are running for their lives because I'm about to ruin their future...Way to go guys...Taxpayer heros are so great...Time to take their pensions boys...

    If a person is lucky enough to get on the ankle monitor and not go to prison or jail it should be easy for them to follow directions.

    I think it can work. Because if someone is on trial for something minor, they have not yet been found guilty. They could be innocent. Or the crime may so minute that jail time may be a little too much. Less chances of them being harmed as they wont be in there with violent offenders. They system will help slow down the spread of COVID. And it keeps them on their toes. Getting into better living habits, etc

    This reminds me of the technology that scientist and farmer use.
    Tag and release. Because we all know animals do better in their natural habitat.
    Just never thought that the justice department would be getting into the conservation movement.

    I can see a lawsuit with some one unable to leave their house to even collect their mail from the mail box and what about essential trips? Do you really need to have the sheriff’s permission to even step outside if you’re just going to local drug store to pick up some cold medicine?

    • @JoseJose-hg6dk
      @JoseJose-hg6dk 3 года назад +6

      I understand this, but true be told if you choose the Life of crime you do the time. There way, not the thug way there way. Criminals don't like it cause they can't get essential stuff or even there mail they should think twice before committing crimes. Eventually the system can tougher the laws and sentences for years but true be told they will just come back after doing 20 years straight back to the system.
