    With Tulsa winters, you’re going to need that entry coat closet for people’s coats. And please please live with that beautiful stair railing - it’s a HUGE part of the history of the house!!! And I imagine that guest house filled with Christmas and decor boxes and boxes and boxes....

      I absolutely agree about the coat closet (that's a must for guests during the winter months, especially), but she knows what she's doing when it comes to staircases! Well, really, EVERYTHING! The house will be AMAZING when she's through with it!!!!

      Really think about the original architecture of your beautiful new home. You’re a great designer you can “modernize“ with your decor. Finding a craftsman to ever recreate the solid wood work.....Price less

    • @clairemoniz4341
      @clairemoniz4341 3 года назад +15

      I agree that you can do "industrial modern" in your furniture or accessories. I think we are stewards of our old homes, and should be respectful of its period details. An industrial modern railing would be all wrong in that house and will look really strange as trends change.

    In my humble opinion...That Guesthouse should become your design studio😍

    • @Lili-xq9sn
      @Lili-xq9sn 3 года назад +9

      At first I also thought that, but maybe it'll be too hard to constantly carry stuff like tiles up and down those stairs. Unless she installs some kind of elevator, then I'd definitely consider using it for work. Someone else suggested she use the bedroom "boudoir" off her bedroom as her personal office, and have staff use the guest house. That would likely be the next best solution.

    I LOVE your new home! Tall ceilings, wide baseboards, beautiful staircase/bannister, so much gorgeous light with all those windows, wonderful built-ins, the amazing sunroom space, fancy-schmancy bidets, the pool, adequate closet space, the guest house, etc... so many fabulous features! Definitely some updating needed in the bathrooms, but so much incredible potential! If all that were mine I’d immediately find some chaise lounges for the sunroom and make it a glorious relaxation/reading nook/getaway. I love the idea of your office fully equipped with all those built-ins outside your bedroom! However, if they have fixed shelving, I would personally want adjustable shelves to create beautiful vignettes and perhaps a mix of closed shelving, as not all design necessities for the office are pretty decorator items... and you can add the proper shelf lighting on the upgrade! You are going to have a ball making this fully Rebecca’d! I’m so excited for you and can’t wait to tag along on the adventure! Congratulations on your amazing new home! 🎉😍🥰

    Rebecca, your new home is gorgeous! The exterior is spectacular with the brick, wall, and gated. Judging from all your previous projects, I know that your new home will be modern and sleek. As for as your master bathroom goes, I would gut the entire thing and have a free-standing tub. I can understand your wanting to unpack your belongings and maybe even buy some groceries. Make your new place feel like home. You are going to be so happy in your new space and Congratulations!

    Yes, I agree with your idea for your master bathroom of getting rid of those 12x12 square tiles of marble tiles, but I would also keep those large slabs around the tubs. They are beautiful.

    Dear Rebecca, I´m a home stager from GERMANY. Over here we like to use wood-look tiles for the bathroom floor. The walls we mostly treat with just a mineral plaster based on lime, gypsum or cement. A generous, plane shower cabin made of glass is very modern. A white vanity unit with a grey stone top(maybe as a central block with a floating mirror hanging down from the ceiling) would go very well with your marble bathtub. Enjoy your new house, I`m sending out love!!

    Wow, that architecture to your home is absolutely stunning, I love everything about it except the bathrooms, I would keep the marble around the tub though & gut everything else ❤️ can’t wait to see what you come up with.

    Have you considered the historical impact of changing the wood staircase to iron? Moving so far away from your grandchild must have been a difficult decision. Good luck in your new home!

    Rebecca, yes you have chosen well. Your new home is gorgeous, I love the outside surroundings and I am looking forward to seeing it through the seasons. The inside is spacious light and airy and I am excited to see your plans for that also. I heard you mention industrial, looking forward to see how you incorporate this too. Between your house and Sharrah's we are sure to enjoy plenty of design inspiration.

    If you have a guest house, PLUS two 'guest' bedrooms, why not use one of those spaces for your design office? Keep your retreat YOUR retreat where you can have your large, private space, fireplace, chaise, wine refer, breakfast bar and TV all to yourself - when your house is filled with all those guests! If needed, that 'retreat' could also be an overflow space for your closet.... maybe your makeup area and housing your jewelry as well! That sunroom would make a great 'bar'.... it connects to the yard so it could also have dispensers of cool drinks in there on hot days and be lit for wine parties at night. FUN house....so many possibilities and LOVE that you are safe and snug behind gates and a high wall! AWESOME Rebecca! Have fun!!

    I would not change a thing in this house. The wood is glorious, the stairs are dreamy, everything is perfect. But please, whatever you do DO NOT PAINT THE WOOD WHITE, please. Sharrah's house was a fairytale house before she painted it white.

    I LOVE IT, Rebecca!!! Without a doubt you are going to bring your wonderful and personable California aesthetic/Michael Taylor style into this amazing, vintage Tudor home!!!! It's going to be a marriage made in heaven to be sure! I'm from Kansas City, Missouri but have lived in San Francisco for the last 30 years. I've always incorporated my midwestern sensibility and southern roots into my California homes, it's worked well for me. Eventually I will return to Kansas City and buy my first home as I've always rented in Calif. I cannot wait to see how you do California in Oklahoma!!! You're AMAZING and truly have inspired me beyond measure!!!! xo
