Live to Sea - A saga that follows Freddie Meadows on his tireless quest along the rugged edges of Sweden, in search of the region’s greatest waves; one of the final frontiers within surfing.
"This journey has been long and beautiful. A journey that I feel in many ways has just begun; the majority of which remains undocumented due to the mystical nature and spontaneity of the Baltic Sea. It was early autumn of 2019, I was anchored behind an island when the name Live to Sea came to mind. It was the perfect description of what I do, of what all of us surfers do in some way. Live to Sea is for anyone and everyone who feels connected to the ocean, sea or any waters. For me this film is a tribute to the missions and moments that went unseen. Most importantly it is a tribute to the magic of nature and the sea. "

every time you surf you´re transported in time to that very first day you fell in love with catching waves. this movie lets you feel that again too.

This is a beautiful film. An intriguing portrait with an amazing sound design. I showed it to my students in the cinema at our film school. A fantastic experience on the big screen with full on cinematic sound system. Afterwards everybody just sat there in their seats totally blown away and spontaneous WOW´s slowly brought everybody back from the immersiveness of the film. Thank you very much for sharing your story.

Undoubtedly the deepest and most captative surf film ever made. Phenomenal work.
You didn't hardly fall on your magical day! Of course you didn't! ....Your health scare and recovery is incredibly inspirational. On the surfing side, i think many of us have experienced something very similar, or nearly similar. In my case, i wasn't yet an experienced surfer. But on Labor Day weekend of '81, the north coast of Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine experienced and otherworldly east/southeast swell that lasted days. North Shore size on our outer bars, and points begetting reefs begetting points we didn't even know existed. You dream for that day/s. When it happens you surf your dream session--because you surfed it all your life in your mind. May your health and surfing continue to prosper, and inspire others. Aloha.

Man what an amazing film. As someone who wishes they surfed more and did video work more, this is just like a landslide of inspiration. I think one of the reasons I love films like this is because you get to look into someone's life and see what they're passionate about, and that always gets me fired up about life. Really beautiful man, 10/10.

Epic story yo! We grew up surfing in Cape Town, visiting sweden over the summers. I've searched the baltic for a wave but a handful of times. For some reason scoring anything that could potentially constitute a wave in the Baltic is as rewarding as scoring pits at Dunes. To score the kind of waves that you're after must be incredible. Hard to believe they exist.
