You have to please the viewers... but I'm a normal guy and I would like nothing more than to see you make more money... people think making a little extra money is selling out... thanks for the genuine content
I’m all the fix and the philosophy! I find the topics relevant and your spin on them adds an interesting and humorous perspective. It isn’t often that you find someone so genuine on the internet nowadays. I honestly feel you folks are about as genuine as they come!
Here is a true veteran of the channel, J and J! I am not sure if I saw these videos. I'll have to go back and binge watch everything. After the first (of Jan.) Semi retiring. Lots more time for digesting quality videos by my favorite artists. You being in my top 3. I am Subbed to several hundred. I am very discreet when I Sub. I've just been here a long time. 😁👶That's me when you guys started. Me now.👴 Me (and most of the viewers) after fixing the DR. 😀After the "Trials Bike" piston moved. 😲🤗
And thats whats great about this format. We all teach one another and we learn. We all watch and occaisionally see something thats missed or overlooked. We are open to learn and you Jake and Jennie are here to inspire. Keep up the good work
Rebuild it, you know we all wanna keep watching and know you can get this running, breaking up stuff always breaks my heart, everything should get a chance.
Hey Jake contrary to the logic fuel line is only meant to have fuel on the inside of the fuel line. Fuel line that is meant to be submersible in gas for fuel pumps is a special type.
Use a dead blow hammer on another dead blow hammer. The force will be more even, and less likely to fracture parts. I'm not a motorcycle mechanic, just a retired maintenance mechanic that has torn down various seized machines. My 2 pennies. I enjoy your shows, and always learn new things.
We have too many seals and not enough philosophers keep speaking your mind please you never know when subjective nuggets of wisdom will pop out for someone
My brother had 535i (E12) bmw that he seized solid, and it stood for 5 years until an African guy bought it (we from South Africa) and towed it away. The next day he came past, driving that bmw, to collect the papers and my brother asked if they pulled the engine and rebuilt it in one night? The guy said no, he took it home, took the plugs off, poured ATF fluid in the cylinders, let it sit for 2 hours, then put it in 2st gear and put 10 friends and neighbours at the front, and 10 at the back, and they just rocked it backwards and forwards over and over until it turned over, then they filled the tank and started driving. It sounded like it was running fine too.
A humble man admits his mistake and learns from it, a deadblow hammer hit with another deadblow hammer works really well less shock I did the “stick” and hammer trick until I sent the stick through the piston
This fellar is still here. 😂 I know if I had a problem before & a similar problem shows up, I automatically go to what was a similar solution. But that’s how you get the experience to know. If you sold a razor, I’d probably buy one.
I’m on catch up a bit, because I’ve NOT been receiving notifications of your uploads despite subbing and having the bell icon on. Look, I know that you must be torn a bit seeing as you made the leap to making more content and are seeing a decrease in numbers. Only you can make that fine tune between work/life but it it makes any difference at all, I’ve been a sub since way at back and the reason I enjoy your content is that you and Jenny are unashamedly YOU and you seem like genuinely nice people tinkering on old tatty bikes. I hope you see an uptick in numbers soon! Love from Manchester in the UK.
I suggest a Patreon or RUclips memberships before sponsorships, if the latter feels like selling out. I imagine I'm not the only one who would be happy to support an authentic creator team. Oh, and fwiw, I'd like to vote for the rambling to stay as-is.
Enjoying the daily uploads i been subscribed since 2017 i believe and when you wasnt uploading for long time i wondering how yall were doing glad life gettimg back on track btw do the rambles that who you are not a sales rep for companies unless you need the monies for rhe advertisment then do what you need to do
I just read a book by the Author, Left Side Cover. It was an in depth story about Matter and what Doesn't Really Matter. It Sparked my Imagination. I am now a more Grounded individual. It Sealed my resolve to ride a bicycle more. Starting next Spring, as I live in New England. And Winter is coming. ❄🌨 😒🙄
I was taught if you decide to replace parts start with the cheapest in the chain. Wiring, adjustments, plug, cap. lead, woodruf key, coil, cdi. I thought you had checked the coil. But I think you would have found it eventually. Well done unseizing the Honda. Why not make an adjustable test-bed frame/jig with fuel tank, coil, switch & maybe even lights, exhaust & guages (people love a tachometer) you could use for all your projects (if needed) audio visual aids & all that stuff.
i have had success using 2 things break fluid soaking it in that for a few days and even lighting it on fire while working it has worked also soaking it in coca cola for a week seems to loosen up rust also have had good results with that also
After watching Saturday's vid from Edd China and soaking a filthy Range Rover V8 flywheel in Evaporust and it coming out looking like brand new, it makes me wonder if soaking the piston & barrel on the Honda engine would clear out the rust and free up the rings, the more I see that stuff used, the more impressed I am... :)
I am confused about the timing being off as I thought you had actually diagnosed it to be incorrect. I understand the arcing cdi being the “real” problem but wasn’t the timing actually off?
@jameslarson6555 yes for sure the timing was off, and it wouldn't have run right with the sheared key. My mistake was thinking the sheared key was the only problem.
Try trhis : Halve a spark plug and weld a grease fitting on top of it so the grease can travel thru it. Replace the head and using a grease gun, use the pressure generated to push the piston down. Messy but everything is protected by the grease and a surprising amount of pressure can be created.
If you can make money doing philosophical ramblings I'm good with that. I don't always pick up what you are putting down but that is better than an ad for stupid stuff!
Question for any of ya'll, B&S 2 hp the 2nd piston ring has a machined groove, does the groove go up or down? no instruction came with the piston kit, its oem, new old stock...
My Datsun was running really bad after tuning it up, I bought a $430 carburetor on an election year. turns out I'd been driving a car for 13 years that someone had made a Frankenstein distributor for so the only way to have the right rotor phasing is the jam the rotor on in the wrong position.
@rel124c41a the one he is wearing. He has debated selling them not as much for money but more for the people who genuinely want to rep them. He has given a few away in older videos when traveling to fix other people's bikes.
Get the barrel off, run a hone on a drill through it and clean the piston and rings also, and reassemble no need to rebore, and it will be perfectly fixable.
by the way the spark was exactly where the fire was , so i would put my money on that the gas from the tank while filling dripped down on that spark and fire started right the way
We all know that unsticking a piston is a gateway drug to a full rebuild/restoration!
And you don't neeed to go over size if you giver a nice clean.
@@wobblysauce Stone Hone and a drill. The drill can even be corded! 😊
Imma need rehab! I got way too many projects!
Your videos are pretty much the only reason I get on RUclips. Thanks for the uploads 👍
Thank you for the kind words
I'm an experienced mechanic, I learn nothing mechanical here, I'm only here for the humor and philosophical content. Thanks
same, lol
Hey he’s not that bad tho
"Let's check the idle mixture screw." Nice one 😂
This has got to be the best channel on RUclips, sooo wish i had neighbours like these 2
Congrats on keeping up the daily vids! Enjoying it much!
I'm here mostly for the community. When I learn something, it's a bonus. This channel ads some peace into my chaotic days. Love you guys!
I LOVE the fact you think about the potential of someone else getting use out of that cylinder. Many would simply scrap it. 👍💪
You have to please the viewers... but I'm a normal guy and I would like nothing more than to see you make more money... people think making a little extra money is selling out... thanks for the genuine content
Glad you enjoy the videos, thanks for your thoughts.

Loving the philosophy talk!! Best JG era ever. Been with since the cooling water wall and CT125 days, 1st ever comment.
Thank you very much for your comment, and for staying with through the years.

I was going to comment this as well. Submersible fuel line will usually be marked submersible.
@3:07 I'm with ya!
Waiting on 350K
Let's GO !

😳 Ouch!
You should collab with junkyard digs lol, he just made a video about a siezed 3 wheeler and all i could think is "Jake would fix this thing right up"
That was honestly a decent Freddy Mercury when it freed up.
I love the words of wisdom.
with you now more than ever
hes getting to the meat of it
Watch you doing n talking kind of like hanging out for a bit in the garage. I like your topics.
In the words of Robert Plant... "Ramble On🎶". We don't need peckers pills. 👍
Still with you!
I enjoy the "philosiphofizing" and the random comments. 👍👍👍👍👍👍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍

Thank you for the kind words. Definitely natural to use past experience / wisdom to guide us.

This was a tough one. Don't be too hard on yourself.🙂
I appreciate good products. If you make money why not.
Ejaculates nonsense from their mouth😂😂😂 I had to rewind to make sure I heard that..
My wife thought my 3yr old was watching something he shouldn’t lol.
Still love the channel and the random squirrel moments :)
Just a feller who came for the 5 o'clock free gas whiff giveaway...
Man you could be dangerously good if you had a proper shop. Good work!
I just learned something Jake is Left Handed how about Camera Gurl and son?
Must be a long & hard day!
One of things we use to do to release a stuck piston is to put it in a door with a car jack, if the door is strong enough it is like using a press
another day, another jennies garage video!

"great success"
Get ‘er running
‘Ejaculates nonsense’ I love this turn of phrase
i have had success using 2 things break fluid soaking it in that for a few days and even lighting it on fire while working it has worked also soaking it in coca cola for a week seems to loosen up rust also have had good results with that also
can i vote for both the philosophy and for u to accept sponsorships

Interesting idea! I wonder if that could have freed this engine.
Get the TL going.....its in your system.....
If you can make money doing philosophical ramblings I'm good with that. I don't always pick up what you are putting down but that is better than an ad for stupid stuff!
Free Willy!
Awesome!! 🐋 (No Orca icon 🙍♂).

I mentioned your bomb comment about going on instead of off at the weed store . Those idiots flipped out over the word bomb.
Authenticity is the best currency in the world these days.
Surely the sheared key played a part?
If not now, only a matter of time until it did..
That sheared keyway was something that needed fixed.

i tried this on a ts185, couldnt get it, soaked the cylinder and jug for weeks
I would like to see you sand the rust off and put it back together and start it. Make it worth selling (you are halfway there).
your a great tech, you would have figured it out, dont beat your self up
When are the hats coming?
What hats? From the no shill rant I didn't think they sold merch.
@rel124c41a the one he is wearing. He has debated selling them not as much for money but more for the people who genuinely want to rep them. He has given a few away in older videos when traveling to fix other people's bikes.
Mustie would get that engine running. Probably put it in some homemade contraption too.
Get the barrel off, run a hone on a drill through it and clean the piston and rings also, and reassemble no need to rebore, and it will be perfectly fixable.
Who tried to use brownie mix as an engine oil? (to get that cylinder in that condition)
Camera girl knows math!
Jennings motorsports knows all
the seized engine tricks. Check em out
still here!!!
There is a musician who looks like Jake, does anyone know his name?
Hey! this is a family channel!
I think he was using the old usage of the word
You need to buy a can of PB Blaster, it will change how you do these jobs, trust me ;)
how do i cop that slick JG hat tho?
Willy should be renamed to Jessy Will.
Will he idle? Jessy Will.....
I'll see myself out.
Very nice

Ok, you're not here to sell us something... But dang, where the hell did I can find your cap?
Man you have GOT TO USE EVAPORUST! Also you call that tiny thing a hammer?
Can we all just recognise Camera Girl nailing the reciprocol question...
by the way the spark was exactly where the fire was , so i would put my money on that the gas from the tank while filling dripped down on that spark and fire started right the way
It will run again i bet
Pickled fuel hose. Like my daddy made it.😝
Do you have an out of tune guitar to go with the singing? lol
