    Okay…we have a 10 week working cocker and he chews and bites everything…his few toys…US..and the furniture..we have now taken away socks etc and just left him with his puppy antler to chew on…I know we have probably started wrong..but we are learning ..have not used the ‘dead’ word yet but will introduce thAt..he’s a good boy…sits on command….will basically retrieve and we are working on heel..although sniffs and smell he is addicted to 🤣 your vlog is helpful

    That was interesting :) Are you doing it that way because it is part of the training for field work or are you doing it that way to keep control of the dog's instinct to play all the time? I left toys all around for my puppy, thinking that she always had something to do while I was busy doing other things. I know this breed needs mental as well as physical stimulation so I was happy to leave the toys. I did alternate the toys so that some were away in a bag and brought out as new every few days and then put the others away. However, my method did mean that whenever I sat down she would present me with a toy and expect me to play with it. I would play for about ten minutes and then stop before she got too aggressive with it, but it was never enough for her. She wanted to play all day long and it was very hard to keep her occupied

    Nice demo. The switch to “ dead” was very impressive.Looking forward to the prevention of “ hard mouth” following this aspect of play and training.Keep up the good work.
