Common dog problems - stop dog from eating or stealing shoes

If your dog steals your shoes or slippers, it’s your fault, NOT the dog’s!!
But if they do do it, you can turn it into a positive and lay the foundations for teaching them how to fetch or retrieve.

My dog brings not one but both pair of shoes to his bed or into the yard. So many have been ruined! He is taking them away not bringing them to me. Yes I put them away but not my slippers before bed.

They are probably being possessive of them because they know that you will take them straight off them, so they’re thinking, “why should I take them to daddy he’ll just pinch them?”
Make it so that there’s a reward for bringing things to you, something more appealing than the shoe, like a shoe and some food and lots of cuddles.
But be careful that you’re not inadvertently training your dog to keep bringing you shoes in exchange for cuddles and food 🤣🤣

I've literally got a new pair of shoes last week, I went outside without then this morning I put them in my closet and within 1 hour the dog had already taken out the soles(the shoes were left tied, mind you) , I don't know how she took out the soles so quick or how she even took them out if my closet. I blame those puzzle games I've been buying her, they only make her a smarter menace lol
