That turned out pretty good, John. Nice work. When I have something molded in color and there is a fear of the molded in color bleeding through I spray a couple coats of silver, then primer, then color coats and that usually keeps bleed through at bay.
Nice build. Both AMT and MPC issued promos and kits of these trucks between '67 and '72, the last several issues including the kit you have there is a combination of both the AMT and MPC kits. AMT retooled the 350 engine a few issues ago but the rest of the kit is pretty primitive, though with a little work it builds nice. Moebius is supposed to be coming out with an all new highly detailed 1968 Chevy pickup kit later this year, hopefully it will eventally be available in several years and versions like Moebius' Ford pickup kits.
Use Rustoleum flat black primer to keep the red from bleeding through. Nice work on the model. Thanks for sharing.
Nice work John. I really like that color combo, nice work!
Thanks a bunch!

I used black primer and had no issues with bleed through
Well, it's because you painted it red and black. If you were to paint it another color you would have.

Have you seen the one's at Wal-Mart lately? So awesome to see them back there, if even for a bit.
I have not, will be looking for it. The Wal-mart in my area does not carry model kits.
Looks very good like a stock real truck.
Chevy pickup came out nice.😊
Thanks David
I like the red and black colour scheme, looks good but the bed sides look a little crooked.
Just a bit, but there are two pins on the bed and two holes on the back of the cab, so it can only fit one way
Looks great man...........
Thanks Jeff
Hey brother I lay down a metallic silver or gold then paint your color over that, no bleed through. 😊
Thanks for the info.
@kingranch1962 no problem brother!
