By “broad leaf ones”, are you referring to _M. deliciosa_ specifically? Yeah, they’re actually more of a landscape plant with their huge size, but only if you live in the appropriate climate, of course. I’ve seen them here (in San Diego) growing 30 feet wide, and crawling sideways along a steep forested hillside, in balboa park… and up trees, vertically, etc. It’s like, nobody who is into “trendy” plants seems to realize how massive they are. Then they even feel “bad” pruning the roots once they start becoming unruly. Or they dip the roots in cups of water! Wtf? Don’t cater so much to the plant like that, or individually give EACH aerial root its own cup of water, if you want it to stay small. Bizarre!! Of course I’m not referring to _M. boursigiana_ which stays somewhat smaller-leaved, but the vine can be equally as extensive as deliciosa. I like my $20 Home Depot wide-form _adansonii_ just fine. It’s vigorous and easy to manage.
But with the roots-No need to feel bad pruning! In a week you’ll see new ones! It’s like a succulent-the roots are kinda optional, as far as the plant goes. That’s how we’re able to mail leafless cuttings around the world, because they’re not bound to their own roots. Cut those aerial roots off if you have or want to! It’ll just grow more! Haha.

seems to me that anthuriums are pretty much the "it" thing now, I don't think they are underappreciated to be honest. can't blame the planty people for it though, they do keep you on your toes. there is just never ending excitement around growing them, due to their insane natural variability etc. just a magnificent genus in general to grow. as more and more hybrids hit the market they will be more and more affordable too, crossed anthuriums tend to be more resilient and vigorous, which makes them relatively easy.

Oh wow I just finished watching the videos I missed so far!! What a timing!!!
I used to think Anthurium were overrated but I've been getting into them more and more!!
My absolute dream anthuriums right now are the veitchii, the warocqueanum (probably dark form from what you said about the care, cuz I'd want it to be out in the room instead of a cabinet), the cutucuense and the delta force (if I ever get a really really good deal on them because, well, it's still very expensive, understandably so)
I know I don't have the space for them right now though, so that's a purchase way in the future for me.
Right now I am quite happy with my clarinervium, crystallinum and my pride and joy, my luxurians. I am so glad I bought it. It had been on my wishlist for aaaages and pictures really don't do it justice!!!
And while I was really scared getting into more expensive anthuriums but the luxurians has been great to me, and I don't have a cabinet or anything, so it's been doing really well in "regular household humidity" (Mine is a constant of roughly 60% cuz I only have a small room that is full of plant lol.)
So I definitely agree on you about the luxurians being (able to be) very easy care!!
I would love to see your list of either Monstera or Alocasia next!!

I know this video is about the more uncommon varieties that you have personally grown, but I think a lot of people underestimate the common grocery store Anthurium andraeanum. When mature they are practically a vine they get such long stems, and the leaves often get large with ruffled edges. I have a pale purple flowering one that is over 9 years old and a mottled red one that is even older. Both have leaves over 8 inches with prominent lime green main veins. They are easy to start your collection and practice on, and if they live are well worth letting occupy a nice bright corner. Also please do Hoyas next!

I think Anthurium veitchii grow very unpredictable and wild. They take up a lot of room and don’t look that nice. The leaves are amazing and if it grew more compact and on the same direction, it would be so much cooler.

I did see Clarinervium in a garden centre (box store) last week, in The Netherlands. Don't know whether it is seasonal here as well

Sooo can we start calling the hybrid of A. Pedatoradiatum and Clarinervium a “Delta FALSE”? Or perhaps, “Delta FARCE”? …maybe? …thoughts? ha 😂
