Interesting video Robert. You forgot to mention your spotter who was behind the building for the few moments that you didn’t have direct line of sight on Lassie.
Thank-you for another "practical" Mini 2 flying lesson. Your videos played a big part in convincing me that the DJI Mini 2 was the right drone for me, and now that I have one (got it last month), your videos are helping me to "learn the ropes" with this very capable drone. I noticed that you were not using your iPad to control Lassie today. Any particular reason for this? I have been thinking about getting a bracket to use my iPad Mini with the Mini 2, but I am hearing that the iPad display is quite dim and difficult to see in any type of sunlight. My "senior eyes" sometime have difficulty reading the smaller numbers (distance, height, etc...) on the app when flying with my iPhone, and I thought the larger display of the iPad Mini would help with this - but not if the display was too dim.
Interesting video Robert but I did expect you to lose signal when you went behind the building when I was flying my drone my son stood in front of me my signal dropped by Three bars so unobstructed signal to drone to maintain a strong signal. Great test of how Wi-Fi signal works
Awesome test! I figured it would lose signal behind the building. It seems to need a direct unobstructed line between itself and the controller. Nice that it would still take off even with the calibration message, and you can manually update the home point.
Thanks Robert. I am guessing the trees were also blocking signal. I tried similar test with same results. You really need open space that has little obstruction. I love my mini2.
That was a good test, thanks for sharing, I just experienced a lost signal return to home and got really close to the building because of my return to home altitude, the fact that the building I was checking out was on a cliff I was cutting it real close. Anyway I subscribed and thanks for sharing
