Phil. I have that floating thing. It is ok. I live on an island, here in Japan (which is also a big island), and often fly near the ocean and over it. I have used it a few times, but find that it really limits what I can do with the drone, when it is attached. For one, my field of view is limited. When I do Active Track, the floaties are always getting in the frame. I can't shoot pano, because the floaties also get in the way. Also, they have a lot of wind resistance, so you might want to add more time to your return to home setting, or else it might not make it back (in which case you will really need the floating capability). I have landed on the water with it and then taken off. It works fine. BUT, BUT.....if you land and take off, go straight up. Do not (like I did once), try to take off, moving forward. It flipped over. Fortunately, I was near it. Anyway, it is ok. Just know that there are some things you all need to consider.
I dont recommend ever trying to Land in the ocean even with the water landing attachment since any wave could still flit it over and you rather just avoid water when youre battery is running low

Okay...help me out here. I am a newbie supreme to drone flying. Just purchased a mini 2 and have logged a whopping 17 min air time. lol I'm curious about the filters. So many (or too many) options available. Why do they help and which ones are the best for the mini 2?
They allow you to achieve natural motion blur like in feature films, or even real life. I’d go for the Freewell all day, you can find links below my Mini 2 videos. I also dropped a few videos on how to use them.
Hi Philip. Where can I buy this bag for the mini 2? I can't find it anywhere, not even on the official DJI website. I also don’t find the pack of 8 lenses. In the suggested link, only the pack of 4 appears.
@@PhillipSkraba i want the Freewell ND filters all day 8 pack . And the dji bag, the one you have in the video. I cant find that one anywhere. Thanks a lot.
So I had a look around, and Amazon Germany is apparently the best to buy from to get it to Portugal. I'm afraid only the 4 pack is available though, which is odd - amzn.to/31yDZyG In terms of bags, the only official bag available on Amazon is this one - amzn.to/3ubYjSJ It's a step up from the one I have which comes as standard with the combo kit.

The bag is great for carrying your gear on a bicycle. It just spins round to behind you and does not flap around. I'm guessing it's water resistant too. Crappiest accessory so far I've seen is 'Control Stick Protectors' . Only 10 Dollars! They clip over your sticks so they don't get get bent in your bag. I think DJI already thought about this lol.
What exactly is the difference between the lö#ong exposure, bright day and all day filters and do i really need to buy them? I thought of just buying the long exposure filters because the others are really expensive. Is that a good idea, or better all of them?
The long exposure are for photography, if you're shooting a flowing river or cars at sunset, you'll get some pretty cool effects. The bright day are your basic set and the 8 pack are great if you're really into your drone shots and film at all hours of the day. If you aren't sure, I'd go for the 4 pack I have linked below. The long exposure are not for filmmaking, unless you want some a very specific odd look.
Just curious, you sound like you are from England, but why wear a Los Angeles dodgers cap? Unless you like baseball? I see many British people repping cities and states like they are from there, it confuses me. Does everyone just wish they were American or what? Honest question
Yes, I'm from London. I lived there most of my life, I've spent the last 16 years in Poland though. I wear an LA cap, not because I love baseball, but because I love LA. Dont have one yet but great video, and i hope i can get one for x-mas. quick question, do you think the fly more combo is worth it? Ive put some of the things in that bundle in and out of my cart and I still end up seeing the thing be a better value then getting only some of the accessories it has included. My main things I want for it are the extra props, the prop guards, and the bag
I think the combo is worth it, yes! The 2 batteries and charging hub come in most useful, extra props sure, if you hit a tree they'll be needed, the prop guards, I think you can live without them, I've used mine once in a demonstration video, the bag is great.
Hey Phillip, thanks for great videos and tutorials. I have just subscribed to your channel. Quick question: How all these accessories add up to the weight of the mini 2 if you want to stay in the 249 grams? Do you have to register the drone then if above 249?
Hi! Yes, all of these will push him over 250g, so in theory you'd have to register, depending on where you are in the world and what laws govern you airspace.
I labeled my batteries so I can keep one charged and the other two at 70%. I'm intending to rotate the charged one weekly to prolong the life of the batteries
I have every single battery I own labelled, but rather to know which ones I've used for quicker workflow. Mine are charged at 100% all the time 😂 Mind you after the recent update they should decharge now. The batteries seem fine, my Mini 1 batteries were too, wouldn't worry about that too much.
@@PhillipSkraba it sounds like if they are in the drone or the charger they won't self discharge. I'm tempted to buy a mini 1 battery and see if I can hack it with higher mah cells as it uses 18650s
Hey Phillip..... I'm thinking about getting the mini 2 as my first drone and just for being "overly" safety concious....will the mini 2 fly with the water floats and the prop guards?
Hi Cory, no, I wouldn't do that. I've seen a film where that looked very unstable. I'd stick to one or the other and just be aware of your surroundings. As a first drone though, it's an excellent choice.
If I was filming over the water a lot and I had DJI Care I would 100% get the stupid looking floaty thing. Just so that if I crashed I had the wreckage to send back for a refurbed one lol. I would never intentionally attempt to land it on water. Thats just asking for trouble.

In the UK, I see that the DJI Store is offering the Fly More Combo for the Mini for an additional £90 but for the Mini 2 it's an additional £130. So what does this extra £40 buy you? Well, it buys you LESS!!! (In my opinion.) There is no 360-degree propeller guard (£19). Instead, we get the propeller holder (£12) which, let's face it, anyone could knock up with a length of velcro and a piece of cardboard. Okay, the newer batteries are an extra £10 (£5 each) and, for some reason, the charging base is an extra £6. We get the shoulder bag but I'd prefer the neat little one with the original Mini anyway. What it boils down to is I pay an extra £31 to have a case I like replaced my a case I don't like I'd still have to fork out £19 for the propeller guard. That's hardly a fair deal in my book, DJI !!! I don't know if this is the same elsewhere.
I'm guessing because it's new, that's the price we pay. I've actually come to really like the bag, got very used to it. I personally never use the guard, so I don't miss that. Never thought about it much David, I just pressed add combo to cart and live happily ever after. I guess it might be better to buy things separately if you feel the need. In my case 2 batteries and the charger already are more expensive than what you get in the combo, plus some extras and a bag and I'm happy with that deal.
Just do what I did, buy the basic package. use my old mini drone only case and buy a spare mini 1 battery! Do we ever get through all 3 batts on a shoot?
Yooo it’s so funny you just throw shit all over the place and slam things on the table, yet have a super calm presence with sassy jokes in there. K thx bye
It should do, from personal experience I’ve had to go through this process when I crashed into a tree and fell into the swimming pool. I believe it’s an EU DJI Care package. It should be the same.

Yes, 25fps in Australia. That's an awesome Christmas present! I bet you're having a lot of fun with it, tonnes of incredible scenery out there! You're welcome, I appreciate the sub 🔥
i use also a landing gear but a different one.
it connects the front and back arms and goes down from the arms.
Because it connects the front and back arm it protects the front arm form breaking easily.
it is stable because it stands on the outersides of the drone.
Also it are only 2 plastic beams that fits in the standaard carry case
i also have the landing gear that you have but i dont use it. because of the points above
I saw a couple of different ones, I guess they all do the same thing.
Mini 2 is a great little quad 👌
It's fantastic!
Doesn't the water land attachment make the drone much more vulnerable to wind, cause it got such big surface then?
Besides getting the freewell filter through ur links. Thanks a lot for u work.
Sure, a little bit, it all depends on the weather. I wouldn't use it in stronger winds as it could be a problem, in calm weather zero problems.
They are excellent. Thank You!
I mean that floating kit could save you when you are on a moving boat and the drone returns to home
That's true! It's a great safety net when flying over water, that's for sure!
Hi Philip. Where can I buy this bag for the mini 2? I can't find it anywhere, not even on the official DJI website. I also don’t find the pack of 8 lenses. In the suggested link, only the pack of 4 appears.
Hi Ricardo, tell me what Amazon you'd like to order and I'll check for you!
@@PhillipSkraba i want the Freewell ND filters all day 8 pack . And the dji bag, the one you have in the video. I cant find that one anywhere.
Thanks a lot.
@@ricardogoncalves5833 Sure, no problem, but where are you located?
Thanks @@PhillipSkraba Im in Portugal.
So I had a look around, and Amazon Germany is apparently the best to buy from to get it to Portugal. I'm afraid only the 4 pack is available though, which is odd - amzn.to/31yDZyG
In terms of bags, the only official bag available on Amazon is this one - amzn.to/3ubYjSJ
It's a step up from the one I have which comes as standard with the combo kit.
I am bummed that my freewell nd filter gives me gimbal issues
Really? What happens? Mine vibrated once, so I slapped the gimbal, pimp style, and it's been fine ever since.
@@PhillipSkraba yeah bro....i slapped it on hard and pressed it like a cuban bread and it shook more than a stripper....yo no se! Lol...guess I got a bad one or my particular Mini2 is like "nah bruh"...I want the "Sunny Lyfe" lol. Thanks for reply bro
straight from nap to vlog. sounds 'bout right, hahaha!
haha that’s how I roll!
Hello Phillip, can I change the units from metric to Emperial system, like feet ? Thank you
I think you can change from mph to km, but not sure about m to ft.
Excellent video - thank you for sharing all these great tips!
You're welcome!
Thanks for the very informative Video Phil 👍🏼
Thank You!
Love your neon sign. Any chance you'd tell me where you got it made?
Thanks Gerry! My friend made it for me in Poland, he used to have a traditional neon sign company, but I'm afraid he closed it last year.
at 6:00 he is flying between towers of Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Wrocław Poland :)
Yep, pretty much looks like it!
I've studied there for one year, was easy to spot it was on Wroclaw with this awesome video quality :)
Great video once again. Thank you. Phillip
You're welcome!
Nice content! Question, for the extended landing gear, do We need to turn on payload for it? Thanks!
Thanks Philip, no, no you don't.
@@PhillipSkraba thanks for the reply. Appreciate it!
all the ascesoires you can also find on aliexpress
No doubt!
I have a question does the filters make the drone weigh over 250g?
I don't think so, no.
Ok thank you!
By putting the landing gear on the drone will put it over the 249g and then I will have to register the drone so that's a no from me 😅
You could always just shrug your shoulders Shaggy style, and say "those weren't on there when I took off" 👌🏻
come new year you have to register them anyways under the new regulations
Ill go 2weeks in holidays, tropical island. Do you recommend the all day filters or the bright day filters?
On tropical islands I use ND16, ND32 and ND64 sometimes. I never went over ND64 and never dropped below ND16.
Nice video. 😍👍
Thank You!
Thanx for the info!
You're welcome!
Skraba? Are you from Slovenia? 😂
Nice video btw… Still cant decide should I go for Mini 1 fly more combo or regular Mini 2. 😬
I’m from London, but I have a ton of Polish blood. Mini 2 all the way.
The bag is awesome, I love it. The stick protectors sound silly, I have mine stuffed in my bag, never have taken off the sticks and they're just fine.
At the beginning when he says the subscribe button is there look at the sub button
Look right at it good and hard.
Why pgytech cage is sucks bro? Can explain?
It sucked with the Mini 1, with the Mini 2 it’s fine. The Mini 1 just couldn’t handle it I’m afraid.
@@PhillipSkraba allright thanks. Coz i Just buy it after watched yr vdeo propeller gustds comparisons. Mine one mini 2
Shot of the river is Wroclaw Poland. Nice
Yes, beautiful place. Thank You!
Awesome bro thanks 👌

Just curious, you sound like you are from England, but why wear a Los Angeles dodgers cap? Unless you like baseball? I see many British people repping cities and states like they are from there, it confuses me.
Does everyone just wish they were American or what? Honest question
Yes, I'm from London. I lived there most of my life, I've spent the last 16 years in Poland though. I wear an LA cap, not because I love baseball, but because I love LA. I visit California a lot and it just makes me feel good. Kind of wish I grew up in Cali in the 80's, yes. Totally honest answer Roger.
@@PhillipSkraba appreciate the honesty, I only ask because I was born and raised in Downey (city in southeast Los Angeles) in the 90’s, and I’ve never even worn one myself. And California is nice but it’s extremely expensive, we pay way more then other states for things like gas and even groceries. Grass is always greener on the other side. Cheers
@@flonkas I never drove through Downey, but I know where it is. Oh yes, California is so expensive, I find groceries in America expensive, gas on the other hand, so cheap coming from Europe, I wish I could take some with me! The grass is always greener on the other side, so true, I guess way too much Hollywood cinema when I was young. I love the light out there, you don't get that here, no matter how hard you try, that light. Maybe on the French Riviera, but still, just isn't right.
@@PhillipSkraba ok thanks for the feedback.I think I can probably live without all that stuff though 150 difference matters to me
@@gwb79 Of course, I totally understand.
Filters inbound, again thanks for the knowledge. Got the poor man’s 3 pack on Amazon I think? 😂 21$
Good move! Well, it's a start, I always recommend Freewell for the Mini 2.
It’s worth a shot 👌🏻
Should my friend get the 1 or 2?
Your “friend” huh? The Mini 2 hands down!
Does mavic mini propeller guard fits on mini 2?
Yes it does.
Don’t you use lights?
No I don't.
@@PhillipSkraba Thank you for the reply and the info..... will definitely do...... one or the other... and not both
@@corymichael2145 Yes, don't use both, could end badly, the Mini just isn't made for carrying so much.
Wroclaw?
Sure!
Mega Video👍🏾
Thanks!
If I was filming over the water a lot and I had DJI Care I would 100% get the stupid looking floaty thing. Just so that if I crashed I had the wreckage to send back for a refurbed one lol. I would never intentionally attempt to land it on water. Thats just asking for trouble.
I just got the DJI mini 2 and it’s amazing
It's an incredible little drone!
@@PhillipSkraba ye the camera is just amazing and I have been taking some really good shots of things. We have a Westfield car as well

Sure! I use the Mini 1 guards with no problems.
@@PhillipSkraba thanks for thé info, Philip.
@@gregoryvanhove8868 Anytime!
There's no need for a landing pad. You can start and land your mini 2 always with your hands
Sure you can, but a lot of people aren't comfortable doing that.
In the UK, I see that the DJI Store is offering the Fly More Combo for the Mini for an additional £90 but for the Mini 2 it's an additional £130. So what does this extra £40 buy you?
Well, it buys you LESS!!! (In my opinion.)
There is no 360-degree propeller guard (£19).
Great video

Yes

Looks like some TNTs on the drone
A little!
DJI Care does not cover water damages. At least not in my region (France)
It should do, from personal experience I’ve had to go through this process when I crashed into a tree and fell into the swimming pool. I believe it’s an EU DJI Care package. It should be the same.

Hey, what's up fill scrubber. RUclips 101, don't ask for subscribers before offering useful content. So many useful comments, thought I'd add one lol. (Kidding aside, thanks for this, although mine actually has value if you take it.)
Hi Rand, to be honest, a callout at the beginning of the film is how I like to roll, and a lot of the big boys use it at start of their videos, so I wouldn't say it's RUclips 101, though would be cool if a manual like that existed, would be easier for all of us 😂 You're welcome, hope you found something for yourself here.
