thanks mate, appreciate the update. hope you're finding driving ok in all this wet weather. that is weird being in such a large town albury you had to wait a while to replace the tyre since its a common problem. not much you can do as long as tyres are inflated properly so must have been something on the highway that punctured it?
Nice to see an update rod. Hope you recovered well. I was sick for 5 days when I got covid. Back then my country had 7 days ( 5 plus 2 if you're still c+). And my headache left after day 5. It was the worst I've had. Thank goodness it was just that. Nothing major. Thank goodness for the vaccine though. Keep trucking on. Your vids kept me busy during my quarantine
Unfortunately have not been in my adult years, It is definitely a run on my list, either by truck or car. Live in WA as a young fulla, vague memories travelling to SA when it was dirt across the paddock in an EJ Holden wagon, stuck in the mud, helped by truckies, windmills, willy willies and water tanks. Cal is right, have heard it's great.
Hey buddy, remember being around Rouse Hill area, but that was a long time ago. Will be in Sydney on Tuesday, only happens now about 5 times a year normally changeovers.
Hiya Rod, any advice for a fellow auzzie living in the outback wishing for a HR licence? have my L plates now but it seems all training courses require me to move to the cities.
HI. In most states you can obtain a HR licence in one day, you may only have to travel to a large regional city. But for you that may be a day's travel just to get there and back. Can I ask where in Australia you are?
I was doing Tarcutta c/o with McColl's and they couldn't find a permanent Prestons end driver. They would always reel in interstate drivers and they never wanted to do it because the NSW k rate wasn't good and Prestons to Tarcutta and back wasn't enough ks and would get more going to Melb or whatever and the start time for them wasn't the best. I would change with subbies as well and yeah well.
Think the boss needs to pay above the award rate. Think that might help. The Sydney trailers are normally ready between 5.00 and 5.45 I tell them not to leaves before 7:00 so we match up better, do they do that, NO, then have to wait at Tarcutta longer.
They'll be more trucks on the Hume Highway atm as the Newell Highway is closed between Narrabri and Boggabilla no access to QLD on Newell Highway u can get to QLD by using the Castlereagh Highway from Gilgandra to St George then across to Moonie Dalby Toowoomba to Brisbane.
Have seen the news footage Kyal, not good out that way, just need the rain to ease for awhile so the rivers can drop. Personally have never experienced a major flood, hard to imagine what everyone is going though, has got to be tough. Hume Hwy, they might be better taking their chances with the floods.
Hey buddy. The yellow fields is Canola, used as oil and in margarine and many other things I would imagine. Love it, looks impressive when flowering. Love seeing fields crops, farmers hard work, with a little help from machinery and nature.
The Benz is a lot quieter than your old K200 Big Cab, sounds very smooth

Rain is ok, has not been bad for me. Had 1 detour. May have picked something up further back with the tyre maybe slow leak.
Have a great day.
Welcome back rod thanks for the update fingers crossed its not to long to wait for another 1.
Thank you. Next one hopefully will be soon.
Great to see you Rod, happy to know you’re doing well, take care 👍🇦🇺

Welcome back to your channel Rod , yes it has been awhile 😂
Thank you John. Time gets away sometimes.
Good to see you Rod,happy to know that you are going ok.
Thank you. Definitely a different experience driving now then 10 years ago.
Hi Rob have you done any jobs to WA? I’m from WA just wonder is that path a scary trip?
WA would have to be one of the best states for trucks. Roads are better in comparison and less traffic than the east coast

Haven't watched in a while but I see you're no longer with Border express. I see Gibson on that Mercedes yes?
By all means, film the strange things .. 17 minutes in
What was the fields of yellow along your drive?

How many tyre blowouts have you had in your career and have you changed any your self?
First steer blow out. Have changed or helped change about 30 or more. Will change a spider wheel any day, 10 studs don't come loose but too many nuts.
Definitely true about the tight wheel nuts.
rod aren't you lucky your not a owner driver all the break downs with cost you heaps.
r u married ? kids?
Hi, Sorry for the late reply, married with adult children
Do you get paid for time when broken down or only time driving?
Did get paid a full trip for the wheel bearing issue, but not the Tarcutta breakdown and 4hrs for the wheel.
It’s been a while bro
